    The relaxer time on the tub/jar is very sceptical 🤣 you know your hair well and did a fantastic job on your own!! Honestly though, sisters are the best on relaxer day🙌🏾

      Idk what that time was talking about! I learned my last relaxer and on my sis hair I don’t have to listen to the instructions with the time 😂 and yes my sister came through!

    Your hair is so strong to withstand you combing through your relaxer. They take points off of your state board for combing it. They teach you to use the back of the comb for smoothing. Your blessed girl lol 🤎

    Despite your concerns I think you did a great job and it came out pretty❤️!! Also, I noticed in the comments people were recommending doing a protein treatment after relaxing. I just want to say ladies be careful about that if you have never done it before. I did the aphogee treatment and it made my hair soooo hard and it broke off and shed so badly! So basically I found out I’m protein sensitive. I would recommend if you never used aphogee, don’t start now because you are playing Russian roulette with your hair lol. Try a light protein treatment instead.

      An even better option would be to do an Olaplex treatment immediately after the relaxer or the next wash day.

    Hi..
    I never like That neutralising shampoo it really made my hair hard like I Had a protein overload it was really really rough I use the ORS creamy aloe shampoo, I love that shampoo for everything. Your hair is very beautiful healthy strong and long thank you so much for the review God-bless you🥰🙏🏽

      @MilatresseVee  3 роки тому +1

      I absolutely HATE that shampoo! I just need the color coded system so I know for sure the relaxer is out. going forward my friend @imbrendnew recommended Affirm neutralizing shampoo so ill be trying that.

    Nice video. I'm self relaxing my hair in two weeks so this was very informative. You know if you're worried about breakage I think you should do a hard protein treatment on your next wash day to prevent the breakage before it happens

    Thanks for sharing! I appreciated your honesty here - relaxing hair yourself can be challenging. I did my hair once - I relaxed the front and my husband relaxed the back and it was tricky to avoid overlap even though we tried to be careful😫😫😫. Also I think a lot of neutralizers are harsh on hair because last time I used one (even though it was a different brand) it left my hair so hard I said never again. The next time I used Paul Michelle Awahpui Shampoo which has a Ph of around 6, and used that as a neutralizer. When I washed with the colour indicator neutralizer right afterwards to make sure, there was no pink at all, so I knew I got all the chemicals out with the PM shampoo.

      This has to be the worst one tho lol i hate it soooo much, i really just use it for the color code because at the time i couldnt find a good one with a color code

  • @jessu3064

    You can do a protein treatment a week or two after your relaxed day to prevent the breakage....I usually do a relaxer the same day after I self relax...then i do a moisture deep conditioner after the protein then I air dry and flat iron....then a week after I do a protein treatment again followed by moisture deep conditioner and then the weeks after that I only use a moisture rich deep conditioner

    My gloves are too large. I ended up putting relaxer on an applicator bottle, & use 4 pairs of gloves. Took off my gloves to do the smoothing, I could feel where my hair is underproccessed.

    You did a great job 👏🏾 as usual. It came out beautiful 🥰🥰. BTW . . . my mom and the hair salon combs the relaxer through the new growth and then use the back of the comb to further smooth it out. It’s been working for me all of these years. Also, I’m probably aging myself, but the hair salon that I used to go to would use Sea Breeze on freshly permed hair to help neutralize it. I’m not even sure if they still sell that stuff.

    I believe you said your natural texture is a type 4. How do you keep your new growth so stretched and soft looking? Even with rollersetting my new growth has so much shrinkage. P.s. I picked up a briogio hair mask because of your recommendation! Great job as always!

    • @MilatresseVee
      @MilatresseVee  3 роки тому +3

      yes i am type 4 i honestly rollerset and wrap my hair at night thats how my new growth stays stretched. also big tip when applying DC always apply to the roots in small section -it keeps the new growth soft.

    Well at least you have options to self relaxed or not, if that pandemic thought us one think is not to rely 100% on salon to have our hair services done. A lot of women ended up cutting their hair because they didn't know how to deal with it. One of them testified that she didn't even own a shampoo 🤔 the only think I wouldn't do is applying acid on my scalp after a chemical service.

    • @MilatresseVee
