    These are a joy to watch on those gray, winter days in our lovely Midwest! I need to buy more baits to have a tackle wall, but those darn college payments for my shorties get in the way 😮. Keep well, JJ

    Great to see the family helping out, and I was at the Forrest Wood Cup on Lake Murray in 2017 and Justine Atkins won against his roomie Brandon Cobb, and of course Scott Martin, John Cox, and David Dudley were all there 😂😂😂 Happy Holidays to you and your Family Matt..🍀🎣🍀 I’m pulling for you this coming season 💯

    Congrats on 70K subscribers! We gotta get a surge going toward 100 going. It was cool seeing some Core Tackle stuff displayed at Academy in Central Texas the other day. I'll definitely be buying more when I start doing more fishing.

    A fun video - awesome that you include your family in so many - I really enjoy the deep cranking but in 2025 I will try more slower/shallower presentations - thank you for sharing the info with us

    Love the video. Next time let the boys pick a couple of baits you've never used and go out and see what you can catch with them.

    I see you have the Funnel jig. I commented back when you asked about the Funnel spinnerbait. In the spirit of Christmas, the Funnel jig is the most unique jighead I've seen. I have tested at least 30 different plastics and it's amazing the action you get from some of them. I think this might work well for FFS also. Some baits are discontinued. One that is not is the Yamamoto Zako. Your Welcome. Happy Holidays.

    Have you ever tried the zappa rat? That's my go-to frog. Anyways. Thanks Matt. It's awesome to see you including your family in your day to day life. Talking about Berkley, I have caught a crappie worthy of the wall at Cabellas on a Berkley 110 J-Walker. I wished Berkley made a stunna that looked like the rebel spoonbill minnow orange back golden sided white belly D20s for walleye because I'd probably buy 5 of them. Tell Duke that it's good to be stiotic sometimes.

    I like the thinner diameter of the flick shakes. Still use them. In clear water thinner worms can outperform thicker, traditional stick baits of the same length.

    It's an angler thing Matt. We all buy stuff and then never around to using it. I have multiple bixes with baits that have never been tied on. But, one day I might need those😂😂😂. I just started getting rid of my old rods and reels. Just sold 5 Abu Garcia 4600's that I used when i was much younger and a handful of original G. LOOMIS rods( prior to Shimano). Needed the space freed up. Lol.

    I enjoy the scum frog still. I like how they sit nose up, tail down in the water. Plus they have a small size as well. The swamp lord has taken place of the spro frog of late for when I want a larger frog. ….. soft baits I’ve changed drastically in my approach. I fished strike king rage craw, bug, and menace a ton. I had a day where I ran out of the craw and all I had were stick baits. I cut one down put it on swim jig and continued catching. So now for soft baits I don’t worry about movement in the bait as much even more so after watching tournament bass fishing the past two years where straight tail minnows dominated.

    Next year you should have a series where both boys pick one bait each, then you can pick a lake and go see how big of a limit you can catch with those baits.

    Always fun to have the whole family involved in vids! Love it. Question about Stunna100 Plus 1. Bought some during Berkley big sale (thanks) and noticed that at rest, bait suspends vertically, nose straight down. Bought 3 and they all do it. Is this by design? I know deep divers suspend with nose down at an angle, but I mean these are straight down. In a test tank, I noticed if I tilt weight transfer back so weight goes to tail, it's fine. But once I start twitching, it goes back to nose straight down. Would love to hear your thoughts.

    • @MattStefanFishing
      @MattStefanFishing  7 днів тому

      That’s interesting. Mine don’t do that when in use. I’m wondering if they do that when not tied to a line. I actually prefer my baits to sit more nose down at rest to help increase diving depth on the jerk

    Good stuff! Love the berkely stunnas. Do you like your
    Jerkbait to slow sink in the winter or slow float

  • @lowspeedhighdrag566
    @lowspeedhighdrag566 7 днів тому +1

    The stunna is also a killer pike lure… especially when you are throwing it on a nice 8lb flouro and are cringing with every cast wondering if you will reel-set into nothing but a bit off line.

    Great video Matt, great videographager, did I just made up a word 😂 but a thought came to mind them young one's could probably use a 3d printer take the time to explain how certain baits work and let them start designing baits you know baby steps just a thought that came thru 👍

    If you have an address you can share please post it I have something I would love to mail to you. I really enjoyed these 2 tours through your tackle man cave. My wife once asked me if I had enough fishing tackle I told her that a fisherman never has enough fishing tackle. I don’t think that was the answer she was looking for. This conversation took place over 30 years ago and I’m still buying baits. You should have had the boys hand you a pack of Core Tackle products.
    Here’s hoping you and your beautiful family have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

    So Hank loves tackle? Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. 😱 I’d love to see both of you fishing professionally in a few years. Will you take any odds that might happen? Enjoy your household fishermen (and Mom). The boys will grow up to fast (and eventually beat you). God Bless!🙂🙂
