Yeah, the history of Harley Quinn is quite funny actually. She was essentially just suppossed to be one of Joker's minion's as a one-off in Batman: The Animated Series. However, her performance was so fun and new to the Joker dynamic that she essentially became an instant hit, causing them to bring her back multiple times, until her design and personality became so iconic that she was almost as recognizable as the Joker himself. In a way, her creation was just a bit of coincidence.... and yes, for how often she is used and how recognizable she is, she hasnt actually been around for too long by comic book standards.... she started off as a character for the animated series and didnt really get a comic book adaptation until much later, and Batman: The Animated Series is only about ~25 or more years old now, as for most other comic book characters, they are usually around ~40 years old, with Batman and Superman being over 80+ years old.
30:55 - Bill is an off-and-on character they made up for skits. I don't even recall when he started, he's just kind of there when they need a "Bill" or a random thing at this point.

Deadshot was played by Will Smith. Will is an actor and rapper who wrote the songs "Gettin Jiggy with It" and the remix to "Wild Wild West" which was also another movie he was in

I never saw the original Suicide Squad because I heard it was just so badly done, but I did see the reboot one from this year, and it was pretty good. Thankfully, it doesn't feature Joker. I do wish they did more with Weasel, though. He was fun.

In20:00 to 22:00 That milkshake is a reference was from a movie called "There will be blood." I never saw it, but I think the scene is where the main character gets his business stolen from him and the guy who stole it is now asking for help. He demonstrates the injustice as someone drinking another persons milkshake from across the room with a long straw and then says "I. DRINK. YOUR. MILKSHAKE. *slurps* I DRINK IT UP!!!"
It was a interesting scene. And yeah, Lego batman briefly referenced the suicide squad as a dumb idea in the third act in the film.
Kyle, the joke about Jiggy and WIld West comes from the fact that the actor who plays Deadshot is WIll Smith. :) Fresh Prince of Bel Air himself plays a villain in this. :) and in case you don't know, Deadshot's "powers" are that he can hit any target 100%.
Believe it or not, Harley Quinn was originally created for the cartoon as someone to jump out of a cake in one of Joker's schemes. Warner Bros rejected the idea of Joker jumping out of it, so the writers made Harley as an alternative. Funny enough, they then asked the studio about letting Joker do the bit and they gave the okay, so Harley was just there as part of the goon squad! They came up with backstory and everything else after that. Really, she was kind of a happy accident
guardians of the galaxy had a better soundtrack because it was actually integrated into the story and had importance rather than being an ipod on shuffle like in Suicide Squad

Not unless you're in a "worst timeline, sh*t hit the fan" short of setting-I.e. Dark Knight Returns comci series by Frank Miller -or random one-offs from the golden age of comics. But Zach Snyder (whose production company helped finance the film, and his wife chose David Ayer to be the director) really wanted a grim-dark edgy, tired of the world, Batman for the DCEU...so🤷🏾♂️. He still mostly didn't use guns in the Snyderse, but he seriously wasn't above killing or maiming people in a gruesome way.
Also 11:06-11:30 Jared Leto was big into "method acting" 😒 and started pulling "pranks" on set like this get into character. The dead mouse of just the tip of the iceberg.

Harley Quinn was one of them-after several years, and a brief appearance in a 1993 comic-tie in to the show, Harley finally made her official debut into the Canon comics in 1999.
Gotta confess that I also like this film as a guilty pleasure. Mainly because I loved these villains growing up. Katana was badass, Killer Croc was awesome, Deadshot was cool, Harley Quinn... maybe I should keep that to myself.
But I also hate this film because a Suicide Squad movie really NEEDS proper buildup for its characters. I mean, they're actual hardened criminals and murderers that face off against superheroes and a lot of them are heavy hitters like Deadshot, Croc, Enchantress and El Diablo. The way the film just slapped them in just hurt because their cool factor was stripped by 75%. Hell, Croc isn't as dumb as he is in the movie, he's the street smart one despite being as destructive and bloodthirsty as an actual Crocodile. Even El Diablo was an Anti-Hero vigilante that's kind of the Ghost Rider of DC Comics.
That, and the team wasn't meant to protect the world if the next Superman decides to become world dictator. They were meant to do the government's dirty work with 100% deniability. Because why would anyone think the government would have sent world-renown murderers, thieves and criminals to destabilize a hostile foreign power, or steal secrets from a different nation, or even recover possible soldiers Waller DEFINITELY can't control from a neutral nation. Y'know, stuff we know the government has done.
But I'll admit they got Waller right, because I hated her from scene one. They got her down pat, since she was as much of a controlling, self-righteous, "Ends-Justifying-Means" Glowie a character can get. Even how her plans are almost entirely guaranteed to blow up in her face.
As someone who's also seen and enjoyed the old Green Lantern movie as a kid, I'm here for you.

Harley Quinn first appeared in the Batman the Animated series episode "Joker's Favor." She was initially a one-off Mook, but people liked her, and she got so much development and attention that the comics made her cannon!

This is actually one of the Worst Movies I’ve ever seen in my Lifetime as everything is a Mispotential and has tainted the DC Brand relying too much on the Suicide Squad that other DC Characters we need more, while the Gunn Version is Fantastic, this one damaged DC FOR Years to Come, although the Review was Funny not gonna lie.

To answer your question about the reshoots, yes, the film was heavily changed in post-production because Deadpool and GOTG did well while BvS got ravaged by critics.
Originally the film was edited by Lee Smith, a Christopher Nolan collaborator, with a linear pace and serious tone akin to Black Hawk Down and director David Ayer's previous films End of Watch and Fury. But after BvS tanked critically, Warner handed the film's editing to the company that made the trailers, who added in a bunch of unfitting pop songs that got in the way of the original score, made it non-linear in order to introduce a bunch of characters at the same time, made the Joker/Harley relationship less abusive (Which ironically makes it actually MUCH worse because it effectively ends up romanticizing a toxic relationship. Joker needs to abusive to Harley because breaking free of the Joker, and eventually finding her independence through her friendship and later romance with Poison Ivy is her most important arc. Trying to make the Joker seems like he cares about her just comes off as even more toxic and wasteful), and added a bunch of comedy in reshoots. Including a blatantly racist joke that David Ayer didn't want to shoot but was forced to by DC Exec Geoff Johns, who also enabled Joss Whedon's blatantly racist treatment of Ray Fisher and Gal Gadot.

@@theduckgoesmoo Yes, it is. That Joker is based on the same character as Jared Leto's character.
Jared Leto was basically there for a paycheck. He declined to do a lot of stuff that involved traveling and appearances unless he got paid for them. That's why he wasn't in much of the movie, well that and he wanted a lot of money to be in the movie so they cut his role a bit. He, or rather the Joker, was suppose to play a bigger role in the movie just like in the original comic. Joker was the thread that connected everybody in the comic, at least together, with the Joker trying to interfere more in the plan in order to both get Harley back and to snub Amanda who, in the original comic, thought the Joker was too crazy and unpredictable to be apart of a successful team. I mean she's not wrong as in most cases any team the Joker is on either ends up losing badly(usually to Batman or another team of hero's) or he turns against them.

- This movie was a big disappointment. Yea was big issues in post production. The final cut was taken away from the director and the studio handed over to the people who did the trailer. If you check look back on said trailers you can clearly see it was gonna be a different movie. Also lead to supposdly 40 minutes of film being removed. Apparently including more Joker, the abusive side to his and Harley's relationship, a romance between her and Deadshot etc.
- Personally my favorite SS movie is Assault on Arkham. The purpose of the group is to go on shady Black-Ops missions for the government. Their not made for fighting world ending threats. It's why the premise for them taking out Superman is dumb.
- Harley Quinn was actually created purely for the animated Batman show. But became so popular she made her way to the comics

Yeah, this movie has like three original songs that were radio hits and are still played today which is still less weird than it winning an Oscar but eh. But the rest of the songs on the soundtrack are just popular songs from whenever with no specific theme unifying them other than loosely relating to the scene playing. So, it is a lot like a random playlist of hits which I guess if you wanted to get a radio station on a CD without the ads inbetween then it may be a great soundtrack. *BUT* more importantly, you probably would love Baby Driver which has a reason for the random songs that play along well with the scenes and it's also a mostly like movie, how about that?
Also in GOTG Star-lord had his Walkman so that's why the soundtrack is old songs but yeah, I guess there's no Purple Lamborghini so...

Honestly, I think people overplay how bad the movie is. It's not amazing, but I still think it's a ton of fun, and all the actors played they're role well, even Jared Leto's Joker. The newer suicide movie was pretty good too, but I don't like either more than the other.
