Nice review, this algae scrubber look like is a great addition for any tank with a sump and limited space. Definitely will love to have one, to help me controlling the nutrients in my DT.
All done for the give away. I didn't know about algae scrubbers since I'm new to reef keeping. I think this would help me a bunch because my water has high nitrates. Simple nature recreated in a high quality scrubber. Thanks.
Scrubbers are far more effective for a given size, if nutrient removal is your goal. They must be harvested before 14 days though, and usually 7 to 10 days.
I have an all in one on the back filtration.i would love to have one for my 60 gals so I would not have to fight so hard with my nitrates .i followed all your rules to be in the drawing.
Will see if I can win. My aquamaxx algae reactor literally burned up after a year so would like to see if this is better. The reactor was great when it worked but I don’t trust it
They do great. They help remove the algal-coating that a lot of the plants get, and of course also help keep the glass clean longer, and keep the nitrates down. However waterfall designs are not recommended for freshwater because the growth (spirogyra in FW) gets so long that it flows down and gets caught in filters and pumps. So for FW, our upflow designs such as our DROP and HOG models keep the growth inside the filter and under the water so that does not happen. MD has these models.
Sure! Santa Monica Filtration (available @ MD) has hang-on glass styles and drop-in styles (perfect for all-in-one style aquariums) that would work great for a nano reef.
It would be nice to see an installation of one of these, say a Waterbox 60.2 Marine. I have a feeling you might sell a few more of these. Namely, me.:)
Mario Estrada algae scrubber any day. It’s 5-6 times more efficient than any other macro. And most chaeto reactors end up growing hair algae inside them anyways.

Well mother nature does produce algae when there is a surplus of nutrients in the water among other things. It doesn't tend to stay nicely contained as the it does in scrubber though.
Liked and Shared on Facebook. I would love to win this. I've been subscribed to your channel since I found it, and, as always, I found your video very helpful. You guys are great.
Hi Eduardo! Congrats, you're the winner of the algae scrubber featured in this episode. Please email us at social@marinedepot.com within the next 14 days to claim your prize.
these things leak. You can diy your own for 100 bucks rather than pay 500. Very very very easy to make. Look... its 1 foot of pvc, a net, and leds... for 500 bucks becuse they made it look "cool". lmao
Scrubbers are AWESOME been using them for years. Would be nice if those were water proof though. Glad to see others seeing the benifit 👌🏾
Not only a High Quality Scrubber but nice looking system as well 👍🏽
Thank you very much! Good luck with the giveaway!
I have complete the steps. It wold be great to try on my 75 Gallon Reef Tank.
Thank you and best of luck, James! Thanks for watching. :-)
Setup my 120gal sps dominate with bare bottom and this will good addition. Great review.

You should mention the need to stop the gurgling on the discharge of this equipment. The sound is very loud if you don't take steps to eliminate it.
This would be a very nice addition to a tank

Definitely considering an Algae Scrubber!
Thanks for watching! Scrubbers are a great choice especially if you are dealing with algae problems!
I have a 120g tank and would love to give this thing a try!
Love the idea of these, always wanted to try one
Maybe you'll win one! Thanks for tuning in!
Interesting. I have used an algae reactor and now a refuguim. Would try one of these one day
I am a fan of algae scrubber yet sceptical to use suspecting it to deprive tank of essential elements..
Done and done! This looks like a perfect fit for a my small sump!
Would like to try one out, interested on how well they work compared to a refugium.

Odile Vollmar we are working on a line of scrubbers for the AIO tanks now! Keep an eye out!
Hi Odlie, you might like our DROP or HOG models; they are designed for back compartments.

I've always been curious how an algae scrubber would do in a planted freshwater set up. Awesome giveaway!

Clear Water makes some nice algae scrubbers
I've always been a big fan of algae scrubbers. Would be awesome if I won this for my next build
I'd love this scrubber for my tank 😁👍🏼
It's working out great for us!
Algae scrubbers offset the need for refugiums, especially for those who don't have the space.
They are definitely a great choice, especially if your sump doesn't have a refugium.
Shared. Would love this on my 60g reef. Thanks MD
This algae scrubber will work great on my 300 gallon saltwater tank the only problem is I'm not on social media
Thanks for watching, Chris! If you are subscribed to our channel, your entry will still be counted.
@@BulkReefSupply Awesome thanks for letting me know. Keep up the good work
Subscribed, liked and shared. I could really use one of these on my new tank.
This would be great for my 50g system!
Thanks for watching and best of luck in the giveaway!
This would be nice to try out
Always wanted to try a scrubber. A reactor and fuge has been my choice in the past. Awesome giveaway!
I'm the 100th like! Pretty dope. These are very interesting!
Thanks for watching!
Looks great! Would love to have one
Thanks! Best of luck in the giveaway!
Great video!
Would nano tanks less than 30 gallons benefit from an algae scrubber?
Sure! Santa Monica Filtration (available @ MD) has hang-on glass styles and drop-in styles (perfect for all-in-one style aquariums) that would work great for a nano reef.
Great product, but so expensive in the UK
Fingers are crossed. Thanks #clearwaterscrubbers and #marinedepot.

How do you put together the list of entries? Is there a tag for the video share I need to add?
Which type of unit would be more efficient, an algae scrubber or an algae reactor?

I’ve always wanted to try one of these out and can I enter if I’m in Australia

Really nice
Wish I had this 30 years ago
How does it compare to Chaeto refugiums or Mangroves?
Ellery Wong 5-6 times more efficient in about 1/4 of the space. Plus it removes more nasties from the water.

Does Mother Nature use an Algae Scrubber?

Yep. Algae does all the filtering, and all the feeding, for all oceans, reefs, and lakes.
Nice!
Fits with and all in one?
eegernades this size will be too much filtration for an AIO tank but we will have a line of products for them soon!
Hi Eegernades, you might like our DROP or HOG models; they are designed for back compartments.

Marine Depot Aquarium Supplies I can’t wait to try my new Clear Water Scrubber!
That’s my birthday 🎂 👋🏾 pick me
Happy almost birthday!
It would be nice to have a Algae scrubber never own one.
Nice to see my waterfall design from the year 2008 being liked so much :)
why does this look like this was filmed 10 years ago
That's funny. I invented the waterfall algae scrubber 10 years ago (actually in 2007 but got it running correctly in 2008).
Santa Monica Filtration do you ship to Australia?
@@lachlan2791 We do directly but I don't think MD does
Done, I hope I win!!! Good luck guys!!!
Or... you know... fasten a $0.99 piece of plastic canvas around your filter sock.
Me me me please I'll give feed back if I win thanks 😎😁👊
