Nice guide, found you can use the tip of the key you pull out to do the same. Couldnt bother to find a screwdriver so tried, worked like a charm.

Three years later and you're still helping people via this video. I haven't replaced the battery for both key fobs yet but, for once, I wanted to figure it out. At this point, I was at least able to pop off the back (never been done by me before) to see the battery so I could order the correct battery.

I am sooooooo *not* mechanically inclined. Unless something involved duct tape, I can't fix it. However, thanks to your video, I used a screwdriver and changed the battery. I now feel like I can be a brain surgeon.

I have a 2020 Sportage and when I take the manual key out there is only the one hole where the key came from. There is not the second hole that is shown in the video that you put the flat head into to pry off the back of the fob, i am nervous to use the one hoe to pry off the back. I think mine is a little different.

My 2020 was different. The batter was attached to the circuit board in an enclosed bracket that required me to slide the battery out.

Do I need to just replace the battery or does it have to be programmed? I lost the one I had , but I have an old one that is not working, the one I lost was ordered and had to be programmed which is what the dealership told me

my 2020 Sportage key fob does not have the smaller hole opposite the opening for the key. Can just pry it open some other way?

Instead of using the screw driver, just use the key instead, to open the casing.

Yes there are different types. Mine didn’t have a second hole either but there is a small space above the hole that I put my screwdriver in to open the fob

well the key fob I have I cant see anywhere on youtube, mine only has 3 buttons: boot, unlock & lock & no stupid horn or any light that shows the thing is working! my problem is putting it all back together, cant get the case to lock into place ... you could show that more slowly if you dont mind

You forgot to mention some of them don’t pop out they slide out of a holder. I almost busted my fob trying to pop it out lol.

Mine slid out also, and the side with text on it goes up whereas fobs like in this video, text side goes down.

I drive a 2017 Sportage. Very little in this video was accurate. There is no second hole in my fob AND, the battery should be replaced with a 2025, NOT a 2032.This video will give you the gist, but even the battery placement is different (it slides in on mine).
