Siren Song is an observation on how our consumerist society has tricked us into believing that accumulating a mass amount of products equates to a better life. We’ve been deceived by salespeople to believe that we must consistently buy new products - albeit these products often being produced to a subpar standard, henceforth forcing us into a cyclical system of repurchasing, which results in a large amount of it sitting in landfill, polluting our planet - to stay relevant within society. This leads to us overworking ourselves in order to indulge our materialistic habits, therefore, causing us to buy these products with not only our money, but with our life too.
The track’s title and theme is inspired by the Greek Mythology tale of Odysseus and the Sirens. This is a story in which a man falls under the beguiling spell of the Sirens, whose sole intention is to lure innocent sailors to their early graves for their own benefit. The Sirens represent distraction and deception; two tactics that eerily mirror those used in modern day commercialism.
Siren Song is a criticism of consumerism, so releasing it on Black Friday, a day that’s arguably the epitome of consumerism, felt like a natural fit. After hearing this track, we hope some people ask themselves, “do I really need this? How many working hours of my life will it cost me?”. That simple line of questioning will surely help your pockets, your life and the environment. Humans are powerful; it’s time we push materialism out of the driver's seat and take the wheel ourselves.

Love the emotional intent behind the movements! The way camera movements and motion are combined with the music create such a powerful draw. The song itself is fantastic, too! Nice work done by everyone involved!
Also, took me till yesterday to actually put it together you were releasing this on Black Friday. I agree that it's a solid day to set your criticisms out there! Consumerism is quite a plague... Shirt mountains that take decades to wear away, "recycled" plastics dumped into the backyards of people in poorer countries (or the ocean). It's a long list and that hardly touches the start, but it's nice to see someone who cares.

No one really cares. The only thing they care about is money. Yes, they want you to spend even more on their stuff.
I couldn't agree more with you and the band on this matter. These harsher realities need to be discussed and revealed in a darker light to the masses. Even planting the smallest seed can eventually grow a forest.
@@Rai2MHah! That's pessimistic. Oddko reads to me like someone who's genuinely passionate and I've checked; he does make an effort outside of just this video. There is consistency in the merch site, with the message and material usage + sourcing.
I am an artist myself and I know many others who are as well. A short, grabbing name they've put to themselves with fancy visuals might make them feel distant, but projects like this come out of passion and spending an enormous amount of time to hone the skill. The merch is *not* heavily advertised and I figured it was more for people who want to have something connected to an artist they enjoy. Besides that, while I and many others would absolutely love to make everything 100% free, our time is not infinite and we can't just escape capitalism to do whatever we want.
I respect artists who work hard to create a vision. There is more beyond money.
Capitalism cannot exist without it...
This band is just this generations rammstien and there's nothing wrong with that we need more bands like this.

@@badasszombiekillingmachine7000 unfortunately we need to charge VAT, but shipping costs for no premium merch shouldn't be much because they are handled by another website that we use for non premium merch. Alternatively check the UA-cam store. Basically there are three different outlets handling ODDKO merch. The most expensive is ODDKO premium merch, but that also has the best quality. Confusing right??? 🤘💀
