great to see players learning good techniques for hunting maias. they are kinda a menace

maia simply did not know how to play, it usually happens with anyone who does not know how to play when any dinosaur plays, just wait until they stop playing maia people who have no idea and only those who know how to play, then if you are not going to see more titles like these, also that maia at most was at 50% and only hit him once, imagine if he hit him 2 or 3 times more

@ziggurat1749 regardless, the concept runs the same. Maia sucks at turning and struggles in attacks that require it to stand still. Full grown or not, being nimble and smart will help fight them back. Tho I am hoping a nerf on maias capabilities, a solo cerato hunting a 50% grown maia is still impressive seeing as a maia that size is known to take on 3 ceratos at a time and either win or kill at least 1 cerato. An just like stego players, we will always see less than impressive maia players that people will practice on, which can only develope hunting skills

@@fire3532 let me tell you that 2 waxes kill a maia at 50% perfectly, you just have to know how to play it, it's like fighting a dibble

@@fire3532 the concept doesnt matter, no dumb maia, no losing maia

@ender_z4nd3r83 no such thing as an unbeatable maia. However, maia being capable of bodying anything slower than it with ease is an issue I hope gets resolved. Dibbles get shafted hard right now and stegos are pretty much the only herbivore capable of standing their ground against a maia. But omnis, dilos and ceratos have potential for making maias meals more often if they are played right

This just isn’t a good Maia, Maia has bad turn so him fighting you on that tight ass bridge was his doom

As somebody pointed out, the narrow bridge hindered the maia i think fighting them know forest would be nice.

Brilliant fight! Maia has the same endless toppling as Diablo but on steroids that even as a raptor it's insanely difficult and stressful to get around but that doesn't stop chad solo players like you.

Maia was being way too aggro, let you kinda move around him and avoid predictable attacks. I'm surprised he didn't move to a more defensive stance and try to alt attack when you were at his back, feel like he would've got rewarded for it considering how versatile Maia can be.

There are so many videos like this. And wether its a troodon soloing a dibble or a raptor soloing a stego, none of them really mean anything. There's also a video of one maia soloing 5 ceras at once.
Instead of these random out of context clips against players we know absolutely nothing about, here's what you ought to do if you want to be geniuine:
Get two players who are actually proficient at their respective dinosaurs and let them fight a couple times. Then look at the results.

While that does help paint a more a clear picture of the actual potential of the matchup, you have to keep in mind that those 1v1 mock tests are just that. They are completely divorced from an actual scenario you’re going to find in game.
Because if you ARE that proficient player, you are going to be jumping into a public lobby with a playerbase of people who 99% of the time have no idea what they’re doing. In that case what you see in this video is exactly what you’d expect to see happen.
...and on the secret THIRD side of this coin, focusing only on videos like this AND the 1v1 practice, can lead the failure to realize, that the Maia in this scenario didn’t have to take the fight to begin with.
If the Maia simply ran as soon as the cerato tried to engage, it’s at most receiving one or two bites for the road, and then leaving the cerato in the dust forever.
Unless that one or two bites is enough to make it vomit, which should almost never be the case for Maia considering it’s size, the bleed inflicted will not be enough to make the Maia go for that mud pit, nor stop moving at all.
The cerato can track those footprints for the rest of his play session if it wants, he’s not finding the Maia before it regenerates its health and stamina, so it can start the chase all over.
...or at least, that’s what I’d assume would happen, because literally no one has tested that scenario. I wish at least SOME of the people doing 1v1s would do so, because that’s the kind of information we actually need here.

The Maia was really bad, so its nothing brillant that you won. Fight a good Maia and then we see.
