I have a 94, allegedly. But it has the later style top with the snaps and trim rails. Thanks for making this video. I probably just avoided an expensive mistake.
This is the first video I have seen that actually showed the difference in the tops. I went to price a new one for mine and the one for a 94 was $120 but the top for a 95 is $379. I still haven’t gotten one yet lol. The plastic parts that break like you said on the 95 and up are super expensive. I have seen full sets go for $400 on eBay. The guys over at highway 83 Suzuki have a video where they show how to make a replacement back corner piece out of some 1”x1” aluminum angle. Now I have been wondering if a hard top from a 94 will fit on a 95.
@@trashpandaoffroad3548 The sad part is that I ordered a new top yesterday and saw this video today and im not sure that its gonna fit on because it is the rampage top. Bought the car a week ago
I had a geo tracker, few years back. Wanted to get a hard top but didnt have the wealth of resources available today. Would a hard top be resilient against the cold; dont know if you have experience with that. Also what can you tell me about the air conditioning. Noticed some models dont have A/C, dont know why...
Hard tops are pretty good against the cold. They have a slight insulation layer like a jeep. AC was a hard to find option in the first generation tracker. Most 2 doors didn't even have power steering.
I have a 1996 HARD top with access to a 1993 or 4 softtop. I like the hard targa over the driver's seat but was looking to grab the softtop components from the older car. Can I retrofit? Do they sell only a back half soft top?
I have seen a rear only soft top in pictures but I dont have any information about it. Same with swapping tops between the years. I have heard it is possible but I have never seen it in person.
Hard tops have a different way of attaching. Any first generation top should work. Rally tops makes them. Occasionally you can find a used one for sale. I am currently selling on in Oregon
Thanks a lot for this video! I want to buy a soft top but I going crazy because I lost with the models. The 95 model is the same of 94? I Think my vitara is 95 but im not sure. Thanks a lot anda you have a new subscriber from 🇦🇷

Glad it helped out. It is possible to switch them over.

Alot of people dont know why there are 2 different tops and how they differ, so hopefully this helps
I have a 1997 sidekick and it has the 94 style I dont know why ;-;. Great video very detailed 🇵🇷
Interesting. Perhaps it was switched out by a previous owner. I'm considering doing that with my 94.

I definitely would verify as soon as it arrives.
@@trashpandaoffroad3548 Sad news it arrived today and it didn’t fit :(
Nuts. Hopefully you can explain it and the company with make an exchange.
Thanks, that is helpful. I have a 95 and didn't know that
Not a problem. Alot of people didn't know the difference in the tops.

Check out hwy 83 Suzuki channel. Tony tells you how to make them. I believe he sells them also.
@@trashpandaoffroad3548 Thanks. I did and I need the whole set, not just the straight piece.
Oh. Unfortunately I dont think there is an aftermarket set being sold. May have to keep an eye on your local u pull it yards.
I have a 98' Tracker with a soft top. Do you know of any compatable hard tops I can use?

I'm in Washington, how much are you selling it for?
Asking 500. Add is on Marketplace.
Hola buenas alguien me da razón si se puede adaptar una lona del 94 al 95 que vienen diferente ?
95 is the break year so it may have either type of top depending on when it was made.

95 is the split year. It could have either style top. I am glad the video helped.
Hi we’re your buy roof básquet
The basket I got from Harbor Frieght. The actual roof rack I got both of them already on the trackers I purchased.
