congratulations! you are the first video i've seen that does a good job explaining how horizontal and curved drilling is accomplished. you could mention that on some bits, u-joints help with the curve.

How i can get this Small motor?
Hallo Herr Prof. Dr. Reich, mal eine Frage: Wissen Sie zufällig, mit welchem Werkzeug in alten Steinbrüchen diese Löcher gebohrt wurden, die eine 7zackige sternförmige Röhre hinterlassen? Leider ist nichts darüber via Google zu finden.
Ojeh... das sagt mir jetzt gerade gar nichts! Aber können Sie mir vielleicht ein Foto an matthias.reich@tbt.tu-freiberg.de schicken? Wie tief und wie groß sind diese Bohrungen denn?
So What is the main differences between mud motor and RSS?
Mud motors turn mud flow into rotation of the bit. Mud motors with a bent housing are used to drill directionally when drill string rotation is stopped (slide drilling).
Rotary steerables (RSS) push/point the drill bit in the desired direction while the drill string is rotated.
It's possible to run a straight motor above an RSS in the BHA to increase RPM at the bit.
