Yeah honestly, the first time I ever watched survivor was heroes vs villains (the only season on Netflix at the time) and I was completely enamored with him and how good he was at the strategy and lying and stuff. When it was getting towards the end and I realized there was a jury I flipped my perception completely, because he was being so aggressive and mean for no reason with a jury at the end. But I’ve come to realize he’s just someone who had a very strong strategy game, and no social game, and we’ve seen winners that had the opposite

Honestly I think he's playing a character when he's on survivor kind of like coach don't get me wrong I think the line between the real person and the character is very thin but a lot of the things that he does I think is just him exaggerating his personality especially in fans versus favorites you can tell by the way he smiles and laughs at a lot of the things he says and does but a lot of it is just Philip being annoying like him getting into the pool all dirty
he said it himself he liked matt and that he would be rooting for him if he had not been in that season... so the plus side is that Russell was team Matt after his elimination. He was also a good sport to Rob and shook his hand at the finale. Russell is a good guy, just competitive.

Look at the moves Matt and Ralph made (Matt sticking to his tribe after redemption) and Ralph openly admitting to owning an idol. Goes to show production really wanted dumb players around for Rob and Russell in a hope one would get a win.

I mean Russell wasn't really working with his tribe around camp and on his first season he lowered morale by dumping out water and burning socks causing them to lose 8-10 challenges but, in hindsight if you're playing against Boston Rob you're gonna need Russell since he technically already beat Rob in HvV already.

Not even top 20. He was made a pet by Parvati, he was played by Sandra multiple times on HvV. He underestimated both his finalists and bring the 2 players that could beat him in a landslide. He should have bring somebody like Danielle or Jerry to the final because he would have some chances to win, although I still predict he would lose. However he eliminated Danielle simply because he was jealous. He played using his emotions not his brain. Then he choose Sandra over Jerry, when its obvious to everybody watching Survivor. Sandra would get all the votes from the Heroes, but he said Sandra would get none other than Courtney. His jury management is also the worse in history. A great player need to have a great strategy, need to know who his/her threat is, need to predict the unpredictable, need to not use emotions to win, not to be rude & arrogant, need to know how to manage their jury tip top. The only thing Russell have is great strategy, other than that he has none. Russell is not even top 20.

If you make it to the end you deserve to win, the question is whether or not the jury is voting with their hearts or their brains; if they were voting with their brains, Russell would've won both times. I think of the video that Sandra expressed when she celebrated Russell's overdue downfall and elimination. This was one of the best clips of the season! I was ecstatic when Russell was eliminated and never was on the jury. Matt should feel proud to have eliminated one of the worst social players ever and if I were Matt, I would not be sympathetic to Russell after the duel. Zapatera made the right decision to throw the challenge to eliminate Russell because if they did not, their time in the game would have been jeopardized. Watching Russell cry was fun!
Just think, every season where the returning players are outnumbered by the rookies, a rookie always wins ..... except this season. South Pacific technically has 2 rookies that win! Just goes to show how bad the Redemption Island players are.

actually in my opinion he played better in S19, cuz everything went his way there, he choose the final 3, which was weak, but prob should have chosen jaison, he actually had a decent chance of winning in S19, in S20 he played very well again but some things didnt go his way after the merge, candice being eliminated, wasting an immunity idol which he should have used to somehow get sandra or parvati out, too bad a social game as well, S19 was def better for russell
There was an interview saying how Sandra and her friends and family were celebrating his elimination and of course watching him cry! She loved this duel. I believe she continues to rewatch this moment many times.

Russell had the best survivor run across just 4 seasons. Playing 3/4 straight seasons is crazy and it was during a survivor era without a lot of success but the success it did get was mainly because of Russell. Probably the greatest villain in survivor history, one of the best non winners, id put him in my top 15 players of all time
He was justified to be honest, his tribe did indeed throw the challenge with the sole purpose to get him out. Russell's allies were the next two voted out from the tribe, so that should tell you everything about how much they wanted Russell out

Not even top 20. He was made a pet by Parvati, he was played by Sandra multiple times on HvV. He underestimated both his finalists and bring the 2 players that could beat him in a landslide. He should have bring somebody like Danielle or Jerry to the final because he would have some chances to win, although I still predict he would lose. However he eliminated Danielle simply because he was jealous. He played using his emotions not his brain. Then he choose Sandra over Jerry, when its obvious to everybody watching Survivor. Sandra would get all the votes from the Heroes, but he said Sandra would get none other than Courtney. His jury management is also the worse in history. A great player need to have a great strategy, need to know who his/her threat is, need to predict the unpredictable, need to not use emotions to win, not to be rude & arrogant, need to know how to manage their jury tip top. The only thing Russell have is great strategy, other than that he has none. Russell is not even top 20.
@@AllRequired The fact that people hated him shows that he is horrible person that they would gladly fake a loss to get rid of him. Just shows that his social game is probably the worst among all survivor finalists. He has zero social skills. The guy is a loser.

This man is horrible outside the game...Russell Hantz wanted to SUE the players that voted him off. I mean his such a sore loser. How does that not want to make you hate him even more. GOD forbid they're smarter than you and you didn't get the title of SOLE SURVIVOR!! YOU WILL NEVER GET IT YOU BULLY!!! I get people actually like him and find him entertaining. @crapolaist That's not to say that Russell wasn't deserving to win as well. If you make it to the end you deserve to win, the question is whether or not the jury is voting with their hearts or their brains; if they were voting with their brains, Russell would've won both times. I'm a person who chooses brains over heart, so obviously I'm disappointed with people who choose their heart.

I think of the video that Sandra expressed when she celebrated Russell's overdue downfall and elimination. This was one of the best clips of the season! I was ecstatic when Russell was eliminated and never was on the jury. Matt should feel proud to have eliminated one of the worst social players ever and if I were Matt, I would not be sympathetic to Russell after the duel. Zapatera made the right decision to throw the challenge to eliminate Russell because if they did not, their time in the game would have been jeopardized. Watching Russell cry was fun!
Just think, every season where the returning players are outnumbered by the rookies, a rookie always wins ..... except this season. South Pacific technically has 2 rookies that win! Just goes to show how bad the Redemption Island players are.

actually in my opinion he played better in S19, cuz everything went his way there, he choose the final 3, which was weak, but prob should have chosen jaison, he actually had a decent chance of winning in S19, in S20 he played very well again but some things didnt go his way after the merge, candice being eliminated, wasting an immunity idol which he should have used to somehow get sandra or parvati out, too bad a social game as well, S19 was def better for russell

Russell had the best survivor run across just 4 seasons. Playing 3/4 straight seasons is crazy and it was during a survivor era without a lot of success but the success it did get was mainly because of Russell. Probably the greatest villain in survivor history, one of the best non winners, id put him in my top 15 players of all time
