Lunches well. To get over 13 sec 1/4 mile and under 180k/h but still do a 4.7 0-100km and we'll as pulling over 1g of acceleration is a strong indication it puts its power down very efficiently. Most other cars that can do 0-100 in 4.7 seconds are doing well over 180k/h and dipping in the mid to high 12's 1/4 mile.
Had the previous gen of this car and as soon as the honeymoon period was over I regretted getting the DSG. Ze German do an excellent job removing all feedback you may want from a sports car. That combined with DSG was enough for me to want to get rid of it. Can’t fault the build quality and features however.
In Australia; The Audi S3 Sportback is $70,800 plus on-roads. The BMW M240i xDrive is $91,900 plus on-roads. The five cylinder RS3 Sportback is about the same price as the BMW, at $91,400 plus on-roads. Would you take the M240 over the RS3?
@@nicholasmatthews5989 an adequately optioned RS3 sits well above the 240. Not to mention supply-driven dealer markups. But, I’m not saying the Audis are bad, they’re terrific and suitably priced. I’d just prefer the B58 and coupe styling, or save up more for the S58 and a manual.
@@jaydaley1294 The new BMW M2 as a manual would be great, but it is another $30,000 more to the M240i when comparing on-road costs. Regarding the styling of the M240i, I actually like it a lot. With not as yet seeing the new M2 live, I think that I prefer the M240i styling more, especially it's rear which seems more cohesive than the M2. If I was looking in the $90,000 range plus on-roads, the forthcoming Supra GTS manual would be a serious consideration. If I was choosing between the M240i and the RS3 it would be a difficult decision. The dynamic abilities of the new RS3 are a big step above the previous model.
@@nicholasmatthews5989 yeah good assessment. After having explored all options extensively I went with the M240. The S3 and RS3’s are both terrific cars, no question about it.
@@jaydaley1294 Wow, congratulations with purchasing the M240i. That is fantastic. I have seen countless reviews about the M240i and have checked out the BMW Aust' (and UK) configurator. You definitely won't be disappointed. It is a standout car. From re-looking at this site's review of the M240i, I noticed that you have a few comments there. The Black Sapphire metallic with the Congac interior should look awesome. All the best with the car.

The TCU map for the 8Y generation (2022) is way better then the previous gen btw. And if you do a TCU remap, it's definately spot on.
I think VW/Audi needs to retire the 7 speed DCT. if it ain’t broke don’t fix it but it’s been around forever
so, another fancy golf R?
Just cheaper 😂
In EU cars has GPFs and sounds bad, even S3 😌
Terrific car. I’ll take the M240 any day but credit where due, this looks great.
