Mohawk question. I’ve always known Mohawks to be involved in turning or changing back to front direction. I have a peewee level son who plays and I never understand one Mohawk drill they make them do every year in tryouts. They have them essentially going straight down the ice and then Mohawk and try to stay in Mohawk position going straight down the ice. Lol. It seems silly to me as Mohawks are about edge work and transitioning. Looking for your thoughts on the purpose of that drill - it’s also used in evaluations and graded. Now, If there was a Mohawk drill that incorporates turns that would ideal. Thoughts?

It looks like you've transitioned from all Bauer to all CCM gear Dwayne? Curious what was the reason for it and how do you find you CCM AS skates as compared to Bauer?
The reason I ask is because CCM AS skates are the stiffest, and seemed no problem flexing the boot, are you lacing it all the way up? tight or lose? skipping the top eyelet? Just looking for some pro tips on that if possible. Thanks!

Great question, both are great products. I made the switch a couple of years ago and I've never been move comfortable in the CCM skate. With Bauer I would get hot spots that I would have to get punched out to relieve the pain, if I was in my skates for multiple hours they would hurt. With CCM I've never had any pain, I wore my first pair out of the box (never heated them and had no pain), they feel great even if I'm in my skates for 5-7 hours. I do lace up all of the eyelets and get plenty of flexion in the skate. I like a tight fitting skate and the stiffness of the CCM skate, it is a great tight fitting skate that reacts well on the ice. I'm very happy with the switching from Bauer to CCM.
