    Keep in mind folks understand the difference between an adapter and a converter. Please! Your computer, cell phone and the likes will be ok just using an adapter but hair dryers, curling irons etc require a power voltage. converter.

      You are correct, and this is an important distinction to understand! That's why we love our toothbrushes that charge by USB, and our hair clippers that are dual voltage. We very deliberately don't travel with anything that requires a voltage converter.

    Your multiple plug adapters. Depending on how precious you are with these, as someone who changed from that style to the larger multi style, because it was a bigger black brick and not something I'd leave behind as easily, you could get some sort of permanent market or a paint that will stick to plastic and colour them red or orange or a bright green, something that stand out from the socket. Alternatively, if the idea of colouring them freaks you out, go to a crafting store or dollar store and find some sort of colourful sticker you can put on the front and sides, anything that will give it some visual separation, so that you don't lock over the white plastic plug in the white plastic socket.

      Great tips! I do love some bright colors on these kinds of things for that reason. For now we just always leave either the extension cord or my phone charger plugged into it, so when we leave it is easy to remember to bring the whole thing. But I'm not at all above painting them, I like that idea! 😀

    Lots of takeaways, but changing my electric toothbrush heads more often was #1 for me! 😂
    Seriously a great video! ❤

    Hey Guys, We are retired full time slow travelers currently in Türkiye. We used that Upwade power strip for a year until I saw sparks coming out of it one night. We now use the Anker GaNPrime 615, 65W Charging Station in conjunction with an Anker 735 65W charger. We love the setup and it is much more compact and safe. Another thing we wouldn’t be without is a travel knife sharpener. Happy trails

      Thanks for the recommendation, I will definitely check that out! We haven't had any issues yet with the power strip, and we are currently enjoying the length of the power cord! But I'll keep an eye on it, some things are worth upgrading. 👍 And yes, we keep considering a knife sharpener. We've bought new knives in more than a few long-term Airbnbs. lol

    Good list. We use all-in-one adapters that have USB ports and skip the power strip. We also have a multi-port adapter with a night light. We also carry a digital thermometer and USB toothbrushes. The poncho looks good 👍

      I love having a power strip. Those few feet worth of cord have been very useful in so many places! But yes there are a lot of ways to solve for ports and adaptors. And glad to hear we aren't the only ones with USB toothbrushes. It feels like an extravagant upgrade but I think the are a non-negotiable item. 😆

    Great timing for this video. We fly out tomorrow night. We use many of the same travel items. We also have an electric shaver that is charged by usb, although at home we plug it into an adaptor and charge it.

      I gave up my electric razor years ago on my first backpacking trip - long before there was USB technology. I've never gone back to one and have stuck with razors, but I can see one that is charged by USB being a good tool!

    Rob, honestly was gonna ask you a while back how you always have the same haircut! :)

    • @tendegreeswarmer
      @tendegreeswarmer  4 місяці тому

      David cuts it for me every two to three weeks, so yes, there isn't much variation. 😆😆😆

      @@tendegreeswarmer Im gonna start the trip with a fancy cut and color from my hair girl and by 2nd haircut have aged visibly and knowing my luck, some funky cuts!! I need a travel Flowbee

      @tendegreeswarmer  4 місяці тому +1

      @@colinrobinson8007 The reason we each have the same cut is that neither of us are skilled enough to do anything different. lol He just waits longer in between cuts so the length changes more than mine does. 😄

    Do I dare ask the weight of your baggage?

    • @tendegreeswarmer
      @tendegreeswarmer  4 місяці тому +2

      It is a great question! We both travel with a 45L Carry-On bag and a smaller day bag. We will be moving from Kotor, Montenegro to Dubrovnik, Croatia in just a few days ahead of a flight to France, so I'll give them a weigh again. We are about a month away from doing an overhaul and replacing some worn items (and most of our clothing), so maybe we'll finally do a packing video and do an official weigh-in.

    • @tendegreeswarmer
      @tendegreeswarmer  4 місяці тому

      So we weighed them again for the flight. Robb's carry on backpack was 8.75kg/19.1lbs, and his day bag (which was holding most of the electronics) was 7.7kgs/17.6 lbs. David overall was carrying about 1kg/2.2lbs less between his two bags. Hope that helps! 🙂

    I never travel without superglue and duct tape. You just don’t know what might happen.

      We love our Superglue! Duct tape is a good idea too though... 😀
