Hi just want to say a huge thanks for this information ,because you just saved me a £1400 for my mazda 6 thay have this problem, I went to mazda dealer and they wanted to charge me £1400 to fix this issue, watched your video and went to a scrap yard to find the bonnet rubber that was missing from the vechile and fixed it, WHAT A MAGIC IT WORKED. Thanks a lot....
Thank you. Just noticed last night that light on my 2016 VW Passat estate didn’t flash when locking but flashed when unlocking. I saw your video and went out and checked all doors. Opened and closed all doors and tailgate and hey presto, problem solved. Such a simple fix and saved me bringing it to the garage and probably a big bill. Thank you so much.
That was a life saver, thank you! :) Car passed it's MOT and when I got home I noticed that the lights are not flashing. They probably didn't close the bonnet enough when they finished with the work.

Awesome couldn't find nowhere on the Internet why. Turns out simple reason. I'm working on my Mariner with Hood not all way closed at night. That's so simple.
Damn you Nick the car guy! I never thought that such a weird enough reason could solve my headscratcher. Turns out the hood wasn’t closed properly! Cheers mate!
Thanks a lot, this worked out for me! My car recently came from the workshop and when locking the car the lights wont flash and after certain interval the car alarm would go off, so i bought new key fob battery thinking that might be the issue, but didn't work out. Looks like opening the hood and pressing the reset button seems to do the trick. Thanks again!
Thanks a lot had to disconnect the wire strip it for a fresh piece as there was some corrosion on it and cleaned the the connector that’s on the pin switch that’s under the hood lights started flashing again
Thank you for this information. I had this same issue and couldn't figure it out, only difference for me was the switch is a bit different on my 02 Accord. Turned out I didn't get my hood latched all the way, the switch on my car is connected to the hood latch.

check your parking light fuse. It should be located somewhere on the harness between the alarm system cpu and fuse box. Mine was blown. Swapped it and now everything works like normal
We have recive one case.... Hazard light working ok but when I lock by remote so centre lock working fast but hazards light flacs after some time...Means dealy work answer back

For me, it’s specifically the back right turn signal light that isn’t flashing when I lock the car. It works when I’m driving though. Is the problem the socket or something else?

And I'm pissed because my remote start is also not working...when I put the key in the ignition the electric start works...THEN SHUTS OFF immediately... 😣help!!!

Just bought a new engine for my 201 MKZ, but can't find the plug. I see the latch and where the plug is supposed to go into but when I reach down, there is no connector. Can I purchase one or get one?
Oh my gosh I was freaking panicking wondering why it wasn't flashing. Turns out the hood wasn't latched properly. I'm not terrible at closing hoods, the MD Mondeo (aka the Fusion) has a latch on each corner of the hood and it's quite easy not not latch one or the other - even my mechanic has messed this up before.
@Vincent Macedo-Iannone I found the relay for my alarm system and found it has a splitter with a fuse housing. I checked the fuse and found it burned out. Replaced it and everything works again.
I just noticed tonight that my lights are not flashing when I arm and/or disarm my alarm. I have a 2000 Mustang with an after-market alarm that I had installed right after buying the car in 1999, and I have never had this problem before. I don't know how long the lights have not been flashing, but I don't think it's been too long. I will check my hood latch tomorrow to see if something may be unplugged there. But are there any other possibilities it could be, besides something being unplugged? Thank you.
I've got a 2008 Odyssey and have a similar problem after getting some work done on car. Now my lights don't flash when locking the car. Don't have that same thing in my engine as you do. Any advice?
Mark Sutz I'm not for sure unless your hood latch has a switch built onto the latch itself and might being unplugged. Have the car ever been wrecked have you unplugged something and forgot to plug something back in

haha that had me perplexed (because i actually had my hood up)... what confused me is they still flash when you hit 'unlock'

I have the opposite of this problem. My lights only work when locking/unlocking my car.
Only one side DOESNT flash but it still works when used as a blinker?!?!

It is probably mounted on the hood latch it self instead of a separate sensor

Check where the alarm module is at see if it is unplugged or a blown fuse

Does the vehicle know if the hood Open? Also make sure all doors and trunk are closed
