You're such a life-saver Leon, got myself an AX8 the other day and these tuts are making the transition from being a Kemper user a lot easier! Thank you mate 🤘
You are an amazing wealth of knowledge. I am a new AX8 user. Finally dropped the pedal dancing moved to the AX8 but so much to learn. I really appreciate your videos! Amazing playing too.
I've been going thru ur videos to learn this Crazy AX8 out!!! I'm super stoked that you've made it really easy-er to learn this. I just got this and literally have a Gig in less than a week.. So hopefully I'll have a decent tone with some options 🤙🇺🇸🙏 Thanx
SUBSCRIBED good sir you explain things in such a logical and chronological way that it is so easy to digest this super complicated machine. for that i salute you ! thank you !
Incredible Leon, you are so very helpful! I've been on the AX8 waitlist for a month or so now, which has given me time to get a formal education through your channel! While you're an amazing guitar player, you may be an even better teacher. Cheers!
@@LeonTodd Wow !! it totally worked & i used it tonight at band practice !! it was a success, Thanks Leon, i really appreciate all your help !! Your Awesome, this ax8 is freakin bad ass, i luv it with my Friedman ASM 12 !! hahaha
Hey Leon, how many amps & cabs can you put within a single scene? and are you able to route to different outputs so one goes to say a poweramp/cab and one goes to FOH?
@@LeonTodd I literally spent few hours only with the ax8 but from someone who owned a Kemper and currently have the headrush and gt1000 my first impressions is that the amps, cabs, & effects are the best I have ever heard from a digital modeler, also what I quickly noticed is that the ax8 is punchier and makes my monitors come to life, it feels great as well to play and closest to tube amps I ever felt. Now on the downside, the steep learning curve and ease of use but perhaps that's due to the complexity and deep tweakability of the unit but I wish it had Bluetooth like the gt1000 and most important the limited cpu power where it disabled my reverb as soon as I hit the limit, I also miss the ability to have 2 different amps and cabs running in stereo but once again this would have required more cpu power which we don't have here, this would have been epic and last but not least I also wished it had a built in volume/expression pedal like the gt and last but not least I wished it had the ability to act as an audio interface...it would have been perfect if fractal released an ax8ii instead (or next to) the FM3, I still don't think the FM3 would fill the void.... :)
Another great vid. I am noticing a bit of lag when I change scenes so when I'm going from a clean sound scene to a gain solo sound with delay, there's a 1-2 second gap. Any suggestions to fix this?
Joe Hernandez If it's a complicated change, like multiple pedals turning off and on, XY switching, changing amps, etc it'll take the longer. The more it has to process the longer it'll take. So make sure you're needing to change cabs unless you have to, not changing XY unless you have to etc. if that still doesn't help look up how scene controllers work and instead of changing amps it'll change the amount of gain on the amp. So far it'll never be perfect, even like Metallica use 2 live, one is clean one is dirty and use an AB switcher to switch between clean and dirty rather than have the slight gap. That's a bit extreme but its a problem even the pros have to work with.
Man Leon, I followed the video and created a new channel with 4 scene's an it's killer. But now, I cannot get out of that bank or patch. When I step on the switch F1 to go for another Bank/patch, it doesn't let me use the F2/F3 for up/down. I'm kinda a newbie. Can you help bro? I would so greatly appreciate it. Your videos are helping a lot.
In Axe edit go to the footswitch tab, right click and select the scene you want. on the hardware unit press the relevant button and scroll with one of the value knobs until you get to a scene.

How are you boosting the volume with scene 2? Pushing the OD would not be enough

Leon, I got an ax8 yesterday finally 😍
That's awesome! Thoughts?

Why when I make a x/y amp change in one scene does it change it in all scenes?

Leon, how do I set a scene to the 8 switches on the foot pedal please? Do you have a video
on this process? Thanks
In Axe edit go to the footswitch tab, right click and select the scene you want. on the hardware unit press the relevant button and scroll with one of the value knobs until you get to a scene.
Leon, Thank you so so much for this awesome video! I can’t believe I’m set now... been a long time trying to figure that out! Take care!
Happy days!
Hey! I'm just getting one. The scenes (3:50) Can i use these scene's on the physical board? Thanks man...
Yes
Last question man. can i use my Ax8 into my apollo solo with headphones without my daw?@@LeonTodd thanks.
Mr. Todd I have an ax8 and which FRFR speaker would you recomend for it?
Atomic CLR
I'd rather see the tutorials on the unit, not the computer.
