For those who don't know the title of the movies 0:00 Harry Potter 0:50 ET 1:50 Star Wars 2:27: Superman 3:22 Hook/Olympic Theme 3:54 Home Alone 4:51:Jurassic Park 5:52 Jaws 6:14 Raiders of the Lost Ark
Plus at the end of Jurassic Park going into Jaws, they use the fact that he's not an instrument to seamlessly go from a timpani sound to a tuba/string bass sound
I would like to know how the sound is processed. It obviously can't sound that good live. I wonder if the sound we get is from a single take of the video that we are seeing. Don't get me wrong...they are phenomenal, but there's got to be some mixing magic going on too, right?
@@mellowjammer If you look up their Disney Love video, you can hear them without "Mixing Magic" and you can hear some low notes from the very same bass hitting some equally low notes.
I know, right!! Thank you somebody for mentioning the basses 😆 As much as I like a good soprano the basses deserve just as much recognition because daaaaamn
I can’t be the only one who really wants to hear them do a full version of “Somewhere In My Memory” from Home Alone. So beautiful, I actually got teary-eyed! 😭❤️
That one soprano has a magnificent voice! Rarely do you hear a voice so crystal clear, crisp, clean, and effortless! Her voice soars with eagles in a way most sopranos these days can only dream of! The altos are as smooth as creamery butter. The tenors are like a choir of Herald Trumpets. As a bass 1 and occasional bass 2 (on a REALLY good day), I have to say that the power, warmth, and majesty of the basses is sublime! Like a warm bath, their voices are calming and inviting. They lend such depth and power to the overall arrangement that it is unbelievable. Their voices are as smooth as silk, dark as night, and as soft as velvet; while adding elements of chilling and sinister in the right amounts. I have not heard a group this amazing in years. The closest that I can think of is Conspirare when they worked with Oktavist, Glen Miller...and they are still lightyears behind these guys. The overall timbre and quality of sound is simply phenomenal! Their arrangement of "Mary, Did You Know" with comedian, lyricist, and singer, Mark Lowry; gets me in the feels (and I am a hard nut to crack). I will say this to the group... JOV WELL DONE! BRAVO! I AM NOW A FAN FOR LIFE! BEST OF WISHES ON YOUR JOURNEY AND CAREER!
What a privilege it is to be able to access this stunning performance for free! Seriously incredible talent and your generosity in sharing this with the world is much appreciated! Thank you!
I did cry. Home Alone is one of my favorite movies of all time. It doesnt even have to be the holiday season for me to want to watch it. I watch it throughout the year, but especially around Christmas, with my family. It's a big family movie. And Kevin's mother reminds me so much of my mom, so at the end when they run to hug each other as the music swells always turns me into a giant blubbering baby. I'm tearing up now just thinking about it. 😫😭😭
Kate if you ever read this, I can't get through your vocals you remind me of my mom. She also had a true Soprano voice but she could sing almost any genre if she chose to. She did teach me to appreciate singers from all disciplines because of the work that had to be done to get them ready for the level of performance they gave. She chose to have a family instead of pursuing a music career, though I'm not sure some part of her didn't question that choice, especially after I was born.
I love that you used the full beginning of the Jurassic Park Symphonic Suite, not just diving in there with the famous themes, and can you give your basses a massive pat on the back for that incredible staccato bottom C! Just wow!
My favourite one of all is the Jurassic Park theme, those opening notes never fail to make my heart beat faster. The Home Alone song comes a close second :)
I'm possibly one of your biggest fans, this blew me away I had a smile on my face from start to finish , not to mention a few tears when you sang the song from Hook and Robin Williams made an appearance. Just amazing thank you!
Its pretty much inarguable that Kate is slaying the high notes but some serious props to Tiffany for her amazing harmonies to go with Kate's high notes. But overall this was just amazing on so many levels and I was extremely happy to listen to this. Great work everyone.
First of all, you guys are beyond amazing... the human mind cannot fashion a word beautiful enough to encompass what i feel when listening to you guys. It is true harmony in the classical sense. True musical harmony penetrates the soul and makes the soul imitate that harmony, making us better human beings just by listening, this is true for all good music. I am a choir nerd and i know this feeling of harmony that connects us all, especially people singing together in a group like this. This is an amazing medley! Though it should have just been called "Greatest John Williams Medleys" but then again, that is probably what you meant by "The Great Movie Medleys". Such is the legacy of Mr. williams. Cannot wait to hear and see more. you are all so incredibly talented and beautiful!
I second this motion!!! Especislly with the high Sopranos that could be amazing... and even phantom of the opera unless theyve already done that busy going through all there videos 😂😂
This is THE CHOIR! Every work blows me away, and E. T., my childhood, thank you for including it in the medley :') I love your work, the harmony you have is magical, I'll look forward seeing more from you!
Erich Korgold, max steiner, and many others are considered “fathers of film music” and really are the reasons we have John Williams as we know and love him today. Listen to the score of kings row and you’ll know what I mean
BEST? He has some of the best...yes. But there are some pretty dang great composers that have had better songs than he has had. So...it's a matter of volume. Jerry Goldsmith I think had better ideas than John Willams.
Ever heard of Moosebutter? They did a John Williams mashup song that this song kept reminding me of the whoooooole time xD It's pretty good just a different sound than this, but it easily gets stuck in my head so I thought I would share :3
I have honestly listened to this like a good hundred times and I promise it gets better each time. Talk about the chill bumps. I just want to go to a concert of y'all. Like that would literally be a dream come true! 😍😍😍😍😍😍
In 2020 this has been my go-to for an instant mood boost. There isn't a thing about this that I don't absolutely adore. Over four years after release and I still get goosebumps every time. Voctave, you are all rockstars.
Voctave, you are AMAZING. I revel in the purity of your sound, the expressiveness each member exudes...You are my new go-to favorite for destressing after work!!!! I melt and feel as if I'm entering into a wonderland. Thank you!!!!
So I’ve been obsessed with this for years but I can’t help but wish there was a video with Voctave performing just Somewhere in My Memory by itself! That part starting with “living” brings tears and chills almost every time I listen!! 🥰Does this exist??
my goosebumps gave birth to goosebumps listening to the absolutely perfect harmonies. That and the range between J C Fullerton and Kate Lott.... oh my word..... haaaaaaave mercy.
That soprano's magnificent. She hits all those notes so cleanly and effortlessly. Marvellous.
Yes she is Kate
Kate Lott!
She is a natural soprano
She is natural autotune
Sebas Tian Yes Kate is
Literally that high first soprano makes me wanna cry, her voice is so amazing
Ginny Daniels that's Kate! She bodacious 😜
Yes Kate's IKR
I love high soprano
The one standing beside her is a soprano 2 and Kate is the only soprano 1
Kate yes omg so beautiful her voice and those high notes
The Home Alone song hits me in the feels.
SAME
Such a throwback... 😊😊😊😀😀😀
Taylor Hatfield. I agree. but when I hear Star Wars and Super Man and Harry Potter and Jurassic World songs.......I always get chills.
better than the original
it hits me too. But thats because I sang Somewhere in My Memory at a Christmas concert. I was my favorite song out of the ones we were singing
I got the chills with the Harry Potter one like omg.
Faith Geer
ANOTHER OF THE CRANKY CREW HELLO
ScarletNight 13 Hello! :D
I was fangirling with goosebumps
for me the jurassic park theme.... i had goosebumps
For me it was the whole thing lol
Anyone else get chills hearing this ?!?
I did. Kate blows my mind. and you can just tell they all love it and it makes it better.
Kate blows my mind too! Wow!
John Haché
Yes, that's Kate: the 1st soprano on the far screen-left
Kate blows my mind in every video!
heck yeah I do. goosebump

Thank you. Love it when someone does this :) it's more enjoyable knowing what you're listening to :)
Thank you! Even though I can place the songs it's easier to be able to go back to specific spots
I really like the Jurassic park one❤❤❤
@@megannel2594 It's in the description of the video.
I find it amazing that the bass singer can sustain a C2 and be heard above 8 other people also singing forte
Plus at the end of Jurassic Park going into Jaws, they use the fact that he's not an instrument to seamlessly go from a timpani sound to a tuba/string bass sound

THE TRANSITION FROM STAR WARS TO SUPERMAN WAS THE BEST!
Flawless.
Blonde on the end, her vocal range is stunning!
You got that right! FYI, her name is Kate Lott. I'm telling you because this is a name you need to know!
The coloratura soprano can sing notes that the human ear can't hear!
T Feltmat
That's merely a vocal range. Not a hearing range.
That high soprano gave me chills. The entirety of it sounded amazing
Yes same Kate's voice is beautiful all of theirs are.
So cool to hear more obscure John Williams works here. :] Amazing work!!
Could I possibly get a reply here? HEY JON! :D
jon hey 👋
oh hey Jon! im one of ur subscribers! i did know u liked voctive (spelling). But of course u do acapella so its kind of obvious.
+AJ Fox i meant i didnt know. stupid auto correct!
+Paint So Are You Planning On A Collab Or ....?
This needs to be performed live at the Oscars!
Thank you for including "Flight to Neverland". In my opinion is the most underrated Williams piece. It is so beautiful.
cannot agree more
awesome with the voices
Stephen Albright AGREED!
The harmonies in the Home Alone arrangement are amazing
I can’t be the only one who really wants to hear them do a full version of “Somewhere In My Memory” from Home Alone. So beautiful, I actually got teary-eyed! 😭❤️

maybe voctave live??????
True true.

This captures what "movie magic" means to me. Feel so happy just listening to these familiar songs and getting reminded of all my childhood memories.

THAT HOME ALONE PART I was so caught off guard there are actually tears welling in my eyes it was so beautiful
OH MY GOD
I literally almost cried during the Home Alone part
That part makes me tear up too!
I did for sure 😢
I literally almost cried when they sang jaws theme ;)
I dislike that movie (the plot is super dumb and kind of cruel), but love the music.

Truly one of the greatest acapella groups EVER!!! Chills throughout, the musicality is incredible!!

HOW DOES THIS NOT HAVE MORE VIEWS????
My favourite one of all is the Jurassic Park theme, those opening notes never fail to make my heart beat faster. The Home Alone song comes a close second :)
stillwatersrundeep I know. The sopranos were off the chain
same, jurassic park theme is the one that makes me close the eyes and swing along with the song.
mine would be Harry Potter, next Star wars, Then Home Alone
John Williams is a treasure we don't deserve.
These folks are remarkable. This doesn't exist anywhere.
Those soprano and tenor high notes are life! So beautiful
I cannot believe how great that transition between the Star Wars and Superman themes flowed
That sopranos! The one on the far left has one of the purest voice I've ever heard and the one beside her has a very contagious smile! I'm enchanted 😍
that ET part though... chillsssss
You all are so amazingly talented! Those harmonies were tight!
That little bloke is an amazing bass! Talk about power to be heard over those other notes!
Lanky hes quite a bit older than the rest of them
Megatwilightwarrior yeah he looks like it. you pretty much have to be a bit older anyway to get a voice like that
Lanky not necessarily. Look up Tim foust from home free. His bass notes literally blew speakers
That is JC Fullerton, his range is AMAZING! sadly he is no longer with the group.
I just don't get why this isn't viral.
Coz there are people who don't know how to appreciate music when to us, this is a new realm of great talented pips.
Nazish Talati me either!!
RIGHT?! Holy shit... This just changed me.
I don't know why anyone would give this music a thumbs down. But, they do.
maybe coz it's not a *virus* 😂
They are so good they almost sound like a keyboard vocal synth. SO perfect!! Damn!! Beautiful! That Soprano - stunning!

I miss Robin WIlliams. (T_T)
Holy mother of God. This is a vocal miracle. Thank you so much for sharing.
I think we all need to admit we're here to see how high Kate will go this time.
Haha, very true. ;D
I'm here to see how deep the 2nd bass can nail it also.
The bass needs a little more sound but it sounds incredibly balanced considering there's only one mic so they can't edit which vocal part is louder
i use earbuds and sometimes all i listen to are the bass
Gulp...raises hand...Guilty.
the sopranist is awesome. The channel deserves millions of subscribers :D
Its pretty much inarguable that Kate is slaying the high notes but some serious props to Tiffany for her amazing harmonies to go with Kate's high notes. But overall this was just amazing on so many levels and I was extremely happy to listen to this. Great work everyone.
The Bass, Oh my.....amazing!!!
If you guys did a Christmas album, or any albums for that, I would go broke buying every one..
Many of the same singers sang on this recording---

Chills. Chills all over my body especially on that Star Wars and Jurassic Park Scores.. Aah the memories. Another fantastic work, Voctave!
So I never leave comments 😂but I actually cried listening to this. I’ve never been so moved by a choir before but they are simply incredible.

Feel exactly the same as you Circa Las Vegas , my heart aches to be involved in music
One of those works I can listen to over and over again. Wonderful.
I know it is such a basic thing to compliment the high soprano, but man! She is amaaaaaazing!!!
Please do a Sound of Music mash-up!!!

I love your work, the harmony you have is magical, I'll look forward seeing more from you!
I don't think anyone can argue against the fact that John Williams has been the best movie soundtrack composer in history
I think of all of my favorite movie soundtracks, EVERY SINGLE ONE IS John Williams, except one, Hans Zimmerman
Erich Korgold, max steiner, and many others are considered “fathers of film music” and really are the reasons we have John Williams as we know and love him today. Listen to the score of kings row and you’ll know what I mean

The only ones even in the same league are Danny Elfman and Hans Zimmer imo
Kate Lott has the they voice of an angel!!!!!!!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The arranger: How high notes can you take?
The girl to the left: Yes.
Lol. Jamey Ray is well aware of Kates range.
Kate Lott is killing that E.T. part. Getting goosebumps listening to her. :-)
Bravo!!!
Please I need a full version of in my memory!!!

The lady next to the soprano looks like she's having an absolute ball. That huge smile on her face 😊
Her name is Tiffany Coburn, she is a second soprano. She is absolutely amazing.
I cried when I saw Robin Williams. He was my whole childhood
Agreed my friend.
Hell, the combination of both the film clips and your vocal talents were continuing to make me break out into shivers during E.T. and after.
almost cried listening to Home Alone tracks :'(

Wow....Breath-taking performance! Just wow!
Sooo basically a John Williams medley :P (Which I'm totally fine with)

Good heavens, you lot are talented. The first soprano absolutely kills me!
E.T. is out of this 🌍! I've been listening to many different a capella groups but this beats everything... Absolutely magical!

It would still be the great movie medley
The ending is what gets me. The soundtrack of ET is everything and that score at the end of the film is so emotional
