  • Welcome Dear Thrivers to Thriver TV!
    The term “narcissist” gets thrown around a lot, sometimes too frequently. It’s often used by people to label others when they disagree, and even narcissists use it to attack others. But what does it really mean?
    In this episode, I discuss the different levels of narcissism, from healthy self-interest to severe narcissistic behavior. Understanding these levels can help you recognize if someone’s behavior is harmful and when it’s time to walk away.
    You'll learn about:
    The true signs of narcissism
    How to differentiate between healthy self-care and narcissism
    Why boundaries are essential
    The importance of self-awareness, accountability, and empathy
    I’ll help you determine if someone is operating from their “Higher Self” (Unity Consciousness) or “Lower Self” (Separation Consciousness). This insight is crucial for deciding who to keep in your life.
    I hope this episode answers your questions and gives you inspired hope for dealing with narcissistic behaviors.

    I think I’m very objective about my past behavior and I can identify my narcissistic tendencies, which we all have to some degree, but I know I never hurt anyone intentionally and quite frankly, hardly unintentionally. Reaching my late 50’s and after 4 long term relationships, (average of 10 years each) I can say I will never be in another romantic relationship again. Some of us are magnets for difunctional relationships because of the limiting beliefs that were not dealt with on time. Unfortunately for some of us the lessons came in too late. So learn to set boundaries in a healthy manner early on or pass the info to everyone whose life you can touch. THANK YOU Melanie! I learned much from you back in 2016! I’m lucky to share with my young adult children and it’s a delight to see their successes at unlearning all the unhealthy behaviors I may have inadvertently passed on to them. Their consciousness, their self awareness, and ability to set healthy boundaries even with me is my most valuable reward. Thank you again ❤

      Please know how welcome you are. I personally and humbly from my heart to yours believe its never too late. I've seen people break through into beautiful relationships after a world of pain in their 70's as a result of working with NARP www.melanietoniaevans.com/narp But of course absolutely there is no right or wrong choice... but I do believe we all have one. If you are alive the miracle still is available. Sending you much love ❤️

    If my ex spouse isn’t a narcissist, she certainly has been “something”….she’s been cruel and manipulative and controlling, and has subjected me to incredibly painful challenges that might seem completely unnecessary…
    or, is it realistically all about not what’s done to you but for you?
    Which ever way it’s been a kind of purgatory or at times a living hell being with her… YES, Melanie, everything you say makes sense!
    It’s a question for me of assimilating your teaching and knowledge….
    ❤️🦋❤

    The litmus test is something nearly nobody speaks of. I've watched 100's of different authors and none of them touch on it. It's the black and white thinking, AKA narcissistic split, or all good or all bad thinking. BPDs also have this , but without this you can't correctly call somebody an NPD.
    Do they take responsibility? They can fake it, but they will never accept responsibility. That is what makes it confusing. Non- NPD's also can be somebody that refuses to take responsibility; It's the black and white thinking that they can't move beyond. They are unable to comprehend anything in between the two extremes; either you are all good or you are all bad, and nothing in between.

    Overused term…. Narcissists lost his meaning these days. I think people have absolutely no clue what narcissist means. Even borderline, depressed people can be toxic and yet they’re not narcissists. Like I said, narcissists term is been overused, it lost his meaning these days….I can also say UA-camrs are narcissists too, Instagram, bloggers. Because it’s all about them. Attention seeking, want validation…..Sign of narcissism as well.

    Sadly, when I hear anyone, I mean anyone use the word “Narc” to describe their ex, it means they’re projecting.

    • @KC-ns9do
      @KC-ns9do 4 місяці тому +1

      Not necessarily. People are gaining knowledge and are better able to observe and discern these personalities.

    • @RecreationalUseOnly
      @RecreationalUseOnly 4 місяці тому

      @@KC-ns9do using the term “Narc” as a slur means they are focusing more on demonizing their ex rather than healing. We should barely be talking about our exes. 99% of the focus should be on the blindspots and codependent behaviors we had that led others to exploiting our people pleasing tendencies.
      Whether it’s a boss or a romantic partner, there will always be people trying to exploit our weaknesses. This is something we have no control over. Unhealthy toxic people just focus on their anger for not getting their desired outcome without being introspective about their part. What a healthy sane person does is focus on what they need to fix and strengthen so that it does not happen again.
      💥 Imagine a person getting their house broken into and being so irate and angry because the police never found the thieves. The break-in was 5 years ago and they are still complaining about it. Then you find out they never locked their doors, they didn’t have any doorbell, puppy or house cameras, and they didn’t have home/renters insurance. But they are still talking trash about the robbers…
      A healthy person would say “To make sure this doesn’t happen again I need to buy some surveillance cameras, put an ADT sign up, LOCK my doors, and buy an alarm system.” Then they live with more peace and relief.
