I have a problem that I believe may be this (2018 ram 1500), symptoms are the closest I’ve read so far. Has a bad rythmic/constant knocking like metal on metal/spinning. Mostly at low speeds, can last up to about 45-50mph. It knocks really loud, usually will get worse when slightly touching accelerator or letting off of it. It even knocks at like 1mph lol. Going into reverse/drive has the same noise every once in a while, and has a pretty good jerk to it. It does vibrate every once in a while but nothing too bad. Usually above 80mph, but I’ve also got 12 inch wide wheels, stretched tires, and two inch wheel spacers so it’ll have some vibrations anyways at higher speeds. I also used to rip burnouts and drifts very often (yes in a pickup) so definitely think this is the issue.
Would a faulty U joint cause that metal on metal like sound when changing the position of the gear selector.? For example when putting the car in Park Reverse or Drive.
Thank you for making a simple straightforward video I’ve been trying to figure out whats wrong with my car for weeks and now i know thanks again
Straight to the point. Well done sir.

It will make some sort of noise i.e. clunking noise
Would a bad u joint sound worse in cold weather? This sounds like my issue but i really only hear it when it's colder out.
I have the same question as you
Thank you
Please note this is only for rear wheel drive car and trucks
