  • Default Key Issue, Square Wave And Serial Decoding with the Siglent SDS804x HD Oscilloscope.
I realize you can assign the Save key from the Utility Menu, however, besides screenshot, no matter what you set that "Save To" to, it still uses the last save type.

I agree with pederb82. While you can use Save for other operations it is not commonly used for repeated saves of User Default. However should you need to save more than a single User Default I recommend you instead save a Setup file of which IIRC you can save 10 to internal memory and as many as you like to external memory, USB stick or such.

I think I did a horrible job explaining it happens by accident. =/

    Hi.
I like your content and spirit.
I'm just wondering, are the guys sure that the scope functions properly after the unlock ?
I mean why would a company restrict the range unless the extended range makes it behave out of spec and that is why they are selling these as lower models ???

Thank you, that is nice for you to say! The reason that do it that way is it lowers the manufacture cost just having one unit to make instead of 3 or 4 and makes inventory/parts easier to manage. I don't have the equipment to test myself, but in this video Unibyte did check his ua-cam.com/video/QwNKCt0xJLU/v-deo.html I can say for sure that my scope is measuring and working properly.

No, your save rant does not make sense. Disconnect your idea that the save button is to save a setup to your default button. You do that trough the menu. Not the save button. It’s for saving a captured wave or whatever else you want to. One thing you do often. Not several things you want to do often. Also: how on earth can you use those awful ground springs. They are always in the way.

I totally 1000% agree. The only way to save the Default setup however does just that and it shouldn't. As to the ground springs necessary evil. =)
