This is not Oddfellow this is satan hence the collector. He is not oddfellow, also this based off of the crossroads legend. The collector is a different character and has no ties to Oddfellow what so ever.

@@blysthon9917whose to say…. in this story, the collector could be oddfellow, all 4 stories have had his influence in some way or another, he is immortal after all and always carries that Cane of Souls with him.

This might be my favorite story from both years. I love the way they managed to tell a slower paced horror story without going into blood and violence. It gives this house a more distinctive vibe going into the event. This is my most anticipated house and i hope it good!!!
This is one of the Houses I'm most looking forward to!
1. Solid story behind it.
2. TONS of potential for good scares.
3. Considering the nature of the House and its story, it probably goes without saying that the music used in it will be top- notch!
4. I like when their original Houses are period pieces.
5.This House gains extra points for the fact that it's almost certainly directly based on the real- life urban legend of 1930s blues musician Robert Johnson.
I bet my pants the scene with the possessed bar patron will be a jump scare.

Just watched the movie Crossroads again. This is my most anticipated house.

this is based on the story of Robert Johnson, which is soo cool cause not a lot of people don't know the legend

In the house, the soul collector looks like dr oddfellow because of his jacket, hat and gold cane
For people who don’t know I strongly believe this is actually based off a REAL person named Robert Johnson who was born 1911 and died in the 1930s. A Mississippi Blues musician based in Greenwood MS which is the Mississippi delta who according to legend sold his soul to the devil for fame. Even has a song cold crossroad blues and there is even a movie based off of this musician called Crossroads which stars Ralph Macchio who is known for karate kid and the movie is based off the legend Robert Johnson who again was a real musician down in the delta. Too many similarities for this NOT to be based off of Robert Johnson. I’m super excited for this house!

This is definitely where the inspiration came from. I'm excited to see this one. It has a unique story and theme compared to everything else at the event
I just assumed that was a general trope - the struggling young musician (usually blues) selling their soul to the Devil by the crossroads for fortune and fame.
ever seen the movie Crossroads with Ralph Macchio? Great movie, same story. O Brother Where Art Thou has this story within it also.
To think I first heard this story of a musician selling his soul to the Devil from a video by Rebecca Parham from Let Me Explain Studios.

The person whose talking to Pinestraw…that’s the same VA of Dr. Facilier is it? Or if not someone similar.
I highly doubt they got Keith David for this, but I can see them aping Facilier's style for a story like this.
