    I use the same tent and put a cam net over. I find the best thing to do is disrupt the shape ie use sticks to hold the net away from the tent so it isn’t tent shaped.

  • @BrianParkes

    Good use of natural cover. So many of these 'stealth' videos have a serious lack of stealth, great to see one that actually is. Flecktarn is much underrated, particuarly in UK autumn.

    As someone who has done this a lot, I’d recommend the Big Agnes tigerwall. It’s a yellow tent, with a gray fly. Even without the fly, the yellow blends with green foliage very well past about 30 meters. Yellow and green blend extremely well. It has to do with the human eye.

      You know what else blends well with green? Green.

      @@JakeFoster01 yes.. BUT, you can actually find your tent again if it’s yellow and you’re close enough 🤣

    I got the tent. the poles weigh in at 2.6 pounds. easton aluminum poles weigh 70% less so you can shave off 2 pounds off the 6 pound weight of the tent. particularly if you dispenser with the 3rd fly pole and just guy out the tarp front and back.

    You left far to much shape, you should have used the branches to push out the cam netting to break it up, not just chuck it over the tent and stick some branches next to it.

    • @uncatila
      @uncatila 5 років тому

      @@univision1489 yes I called an American tent pole company. I wanted to replace the fiberglass poles. this company uses Easton Aluminum which is a competitor with the Dac aluminum poles used in the UK. Dac is used on snugpac tents. anyway theumy asked me to measure the length if the poles then set up the tent and note the distance from corner to corner. I have only replaced my two longer poles. the cross pole will be replaced next. the phone number of the company in working with is 360-260-9527
      they charged me $30 for each of the two poles plus $10 shipping in the States. I got a vonnent from someone on these comments who got the replacements in UK and he didn't need a bend on the cross pole. in the US the aluminum is thicker. that's what I'm here in from my company. it will be stronger in wind I guess.

      +Paul Kyle yep, you can see more of the set up in my other vids. The spot I picked here is above a track which deer use so it makes a nice vantage point to keep an eye out for them if quiet and don't draw attention. I don't shoot them, would rather enjoy watching them go about their business. In my first attempt at a stealth camping video (volumes all wrong) we also had permission to be in there with our bows, but those woods often saw trespassers so we wanted to keep a low profile simply so we didn't bump into anyone.

      "Carrying" a gun won't keep any animals away.
      Now if you're asking what firearms would be effective to defend against an attack from said animals, I would say that in bear country, I always carry a 12ga shotgun with hard-cast slugs in the truck.
      That said, you're better off with a big can of bear spray. That's always your (and my) first line of defense against large, grumpy critters.

    There is no best camouflage, for example the woodlands in Washington are very different than the woodlands in northern Germany, the woodlands in England are very different than the woodlands in Australia what type of camouflage you use all depends on your local area.
