I made this bag 7 years ago. I was so hooked on it and loved it, I made like 6 or 7 in different colors. This is one of my favorite patterns.
Please make a note to your viewers that you need to chain 13, not 12 otherwise it won't work. The written tutorial says it right at the beginning. Otherwise I'm looking forward to the rest of this and seeing how it turns out. Thank you!

Anno I made this purse about 5yrs ago when I first was learning crochet it turned out gr8 here it is 5yrs later I'm a lot better with crochet and thanks to your instructions and watching you plenty of other times I'm making this bag again and my stiches are more perfect than the 1st time ty so much for your teaching abilities. This is a lovely tutorial and all the negative comments about errors at the beginning are incorrect. This works perfectly if you follow along. I have made several of Annoos patterns and all are wonderful . Might not be ready if you cant understand or make the stitch count work on this one ....its dead on.

Love this bag and your method of teaching. My only problem is I initially watch tutorials through to get an idea of what is involved when I go to bed - your music and voice are so relaxing I tend to fall asleep before I have watched the whole tutorial!

Melanie Watson I went back and forth between the video and the written pattern. Finally I just followed the written pattern and it worked out much better. The count doesn't work out as she states in the video but it does in the written pattern. If you start with a ch 13 the count should work out. Good luck! First time to complete the bag I used stitch markers and counted off each step...put in a marker....counted off the next step...put in a marker, etc. It made the work progress slowly but it really helped me with the counts.

Also you will need 14 chain to start, not 12. Because coming into the forth chain at the start, leaves only 8chain left so not enough chain to do 10dc in

+Cinnamon Howard I will do better next time...I totally agree...too fast at the handles part....you slip stitch placing them right next to the little 3 rows sides you had made to assemble the front and the back part together ...one side of the handle first then the other side with your tapestry needle...I hope it helped!!!! hi! just finished my interpretation of your bag. used acrylic. used only the front flap but made body of bag in an easy sc one piece. one handle made with sc cross stitch for no stretch. tapered at top. no beads o. fringe, but faux bone button on flap. wish i coukd send you a pic!

Girls, I guess I found out whats it's wrong!!!!!! After doing the 12 firts chains, when she starts the first roll of double crochets, she says "7 double crochets", but actually, it's 9 double crochets! So, plus the 3 firts chains we have separated in the beggining, we have 10 double croches (in the beggining). So in the first roll we have on total: 10 double crochets + 6 double crochets + 10 double crochets. It works, I did it until the end!

anerebelo yup that’s correct, basically you should have 10 dc and 6dc in the last one and then another 10 dc on the other side
