Except that part in Op4 which has a small elevator then like 3 stairs for some reason. Like they installed a more expensive elevator to make it wheelchair accessible then Keller pissed off whatever architect designed the facility, and they added the 3 stairs.

What could be more wheelchair accessible than using a portal gun to get you to that cake party? You don't even have to take a ramp!
The ending's pretty sad. Sure they accomplished their mission but chances are they got blasted to smithereens at the ending of Opposing Force.
You can actually find Gina's corpse in Opposing Force in one of the areas that you teleport to with the Displacer.

Sven coop is great servers up to 32 players or ypu could have a lan with you and your friend and play decay
Now if you want to play this without looking through a pile of dust to find your old ps2 you need to download a mod.
Advice if you’re going to play this on PC: do not use health or HEV stations and reload at the same time, please. The game will crash and you will have to start the mission all over again.

I notice it now, but with Gina and Colette's campaign, it's like a reversed feeling of Shephard's. Nothing has really happened yet in their campaign, and the only people they come across are the two doctors. In fact, by the time they're almost done, it's when the military shows up and Gordon is about half way into "On A Rail". It also feels a tad more personal, because you're going into areas of Black Mesa that were specifically designed for daily life-Not to mention, taking care of the other Doctor and your teammate. You really feel like you're at the beginning of this incident. Unlike Shephard, Barney, or Gordon, you have a *clear cut plan* on what to do. Heck, your last moments are spent solving it, but you can't help but feel as though it isn't over. In the end of it all, you're left to stare at the night sky, all while the player knows that Gordon is fighting for his life inside an abandoned rail system. Furthermore, you know that it's nearly dawn, and that the events of Blue-Shift are ending as you complete that last part.
It really feels like a sort of disjointed, melancholic, and yet hopeful part in the Half-Life storyline. It's made even sadder by knowing what happens at the end of Opposing Force and not knowing what happened to Gina, Collette, and Keller at all.
Im pretty sure gina died since we can find her body in opposing force.

Sadly the sequel is not about Gina nor Colette as Gordon and Alyx are the main characters of that one.

Gina Cross and Colette Green are all dead during Xen mission. There's no way to bring them back except memories.
Gina and Colette were never confirmed to be dead.
Shephard does wear a power suit. PCV stands for Powered Combat Vest.
I do agree that he's the most badass out of the HL protagonists though.

Meh, I hate BS simply for the fact that it has no new weapons or enemies. It didn't even have a boss fight like the other HL games. For some reason Gearbox decided not to use any of the new weapons from OpFor like the Desert Eagle or the M249.

If Decay ever gets remade, IF it ever gets the chance, I hope they add more context to the game, more story and more engagement between the two players.
Whoever ends up taking the responsibility, whether it be the amazing Crowbar Collective, the parent development team Gearbox Studio, or even Valve, more context is added for Gina Cross's death. Drive is added for Colette and Gina, and heck they could even do an "A Way Out" at the end of the campaign.
What if the reason why we find Cross dead is because the G-Man only had one position available for work, and the final level of the reduxed Decay isn't a survival mode simulator, but instead a PvP against your fellow player? And the ultimate canon is that Colette drowned Gina in Xen??

After watching all playthroughs of Half-Life, Blue Shift, Opposing Force, and Decay, I can say without a doubt that ammo discipline has somehow never been learned, much less mastered. Every enemy killed is like a visual depiction of “task failed successfully.”

ITS BEEN TWO YEARS, THE PERSON I RESPONDED TO DELETED THEIR COMMENT.
I played both version of this game.
The unofficial PC port is sure simple with a couple of home-made easter eggs and a way to unlock the bonus mission.
The PS2 version saw me with some struggles especially that one mission where I have to crank the valves while being attacked by Xen aliens.
From these experiences, it really requires an edgy adrenaline to finish this co-op.
Me and my mates are trying to 100% the ps2 version. The PC port looks like they made it easier as boy we cannot do the last mission as 2 player let alone solo
All these years and I didnt know you could switch like that...I always thought it was bugged and you needed two players. Therefore I never got to the end of this game mode
Not sure if u can switch in PS2 version since its was meant to be co-op... but yes in PC port u can switch players...
I also didn't realise you could press SELECT to switch characters. It's in the manual though.
The holographic assistant at the Hazard Course is you the player in this game. It's like seeing yourself telling people what to do in the game.

Wait I’m slightly confused about the ending. Gina and Colette are apparently fine in the ending but I’m confused cause in half life opposing force when Adrian is in Xen you can find Gina's dead body at the bottom of some random body of water. So how did Gina go from being complete fine at the end of Decay to being dead in opposing force?
i think that Gina was a placeholder model or smth as i think its the model from Deathmatch?
She may have gone unconscious and teleported to Xen where she died.
I think that sometime after Gordon got kidnapped, they may have considered waiting for him a lost cause so they sent Gina through and maybe Colette through a portal and Gina died in Xen. I don’t think that makes much sense though considering how much work sending Gordon through took so really I just blame Randy Pitchford

For me Gina and Colette are still alive (and i dont care what Randy or Gabe says).
Is more logical that Rossenberg just picked up Keller, Gina and Colette with that car and just escape. The three being highly rank scientists could easily know how to escape Black Mesa, just first they had to close the portal. It doesnt make any sense that Gina appears in Xen, why did she do that? Is unnecesary. Also Colette being in Gman freezer? No way Randy Dumford, since Gman clearly doesnt care about both scientists at the beginning of Decay. Cmon Randy, i respect you for doing Half Life on PS2, one of the best ports from PC to a console in history, but this is just dumb.

Umm, okay, I can't get it still, what happened at the end? What did they do? If we look at Blue Shift Power Struggle for example the aliens still spawning.
What happened was that Gina and Colette were trying to shut off the portal to prevent Xen aliens from invading Earth. With the satellite launched by Gordon Freeman in HL's "On A Rail" chapter, both girls would activate the displacement beacon in order to reach the satellite orbit by weakening the Resonance Cascade effect circulating Earth.
Put it simple, this whole Decay story is meant to explain why Gordon originally had to launch the satellite.

On my version, at the beginning of Hazardous Course, Rosenberg gets stuck walking up the stairs after the first elevator. Anybody else having a similar issue with this port?
All the intercom announcements about things going wrong and inspectors not allowed into the laser place indicate that someone WANTED a resonance cascade.

As I'm binge watching all these Half-Life Games/Mods, it begs the question. "HOW many rambos are there exactly that are rampaging through the Black Mesa Facility when the disaster hits, (including in mods) Like 30, 50+ ???????"
My true question now, after going through Black Mesa (the game) is how genuinely big IS the research facility?! It spans seemingly hundreds of miles underground. There could have been dozens of these people and few of them would have overlapped!
When I switch to "Decay" in the "Change Game" menu, it drops me back to the default Half-Life game. WTF? Pls somebody help me!

Looks like they updated the port since this gameplay, because after the dorms (50:40) there is one area that doesn't appear in this video :O
The line "The new guy DR Freeman" really bothers me. Gordon couldn't have been that new if he had access to the HEV suit (It's a product unique to Black Mesa, so he couldn't have trained for it before) also almost all the scientists in the facility are familiar with him, so he was clearly working in Anomalous Materials for, I say at least 4 months. It's a bit ridiculous but whatever.

I have this game included on my ps2 copy of half life.
Is there a way to get this expansion to work on PC? I've read it was originally released for PS2, and all I could find was a solo demo on Steam, which basically ends after the third map at 29:45
Right when the Bunker doors explode, the damned Keller killed one of the characters I controlled right on the last mission. For me, it was an annoying experience cause it was the first time I ever play it thus it crashes a lot randomly.
I wish these half life games were remastered on the ps4 and xbox one!
We won't get remastered but at least we get a fan remake for the PC version.
