I really do like a lot of your stuff, but I feel like you could have used a crappy dresser instead of this pretty mid century one. It was kind of heartbreaking to see it pulled apart like that. I’m not hating, I love most of your pieces. You are so talented.
This was water damaged, had broken legs that needed repaired, handles were cracked and needed removed and tons of chips and scratched down to the particleboard. I only upcycle and flip damaged pieces, I would never touch a perfectly good mcm piece.
@@tannerwoolf7648 why would you assume that she just covered up the water damage? I would guess that when she was repairing the rest of the damage to this dresser, she repaired the water damage as well. 🙄
@@theflippedpiece because apothecary drawers have a bunch of smaller drawers, so that's why they have so many handles. Making faux ones doesn't go with it too well tbh. It's pretty, and I do enjoy a lot of your videos. But this just needed a bit of editing, it's very busy.
I want to love it, but I just don't. The apothecary theme for the drawers doesn't work. They compete with the patterned top drawers and the whole piece becomes too visually busy. Sorry for the criticism, but you did ask for opinions. This is probably the first piece I didn't like out of so many others that I've loved, so you are still doing an amazing job.

Really dude? It's some basic dresser that someone probably bought at Sears. You can see that it's made of MDF and it's a piece of garbage. It's not even that attractive if it wasn't busted and cheap.
@@singlefather01 🤦🤦🤦 MDF is a type of wood product. Medium density fiberboard iirc. The veneer is put over the crappy cheap material to make it look more attractive and to look like real wood. There is no craftsmanship as it's just a mass produced piece of furniture. That piece was probably never touched by a human holding a tool until she got it
Definitely should have invested in the original piece which looks very Danish-Modern. This style was sleek and minimalist and added clean lines to any room.

I love the paint color, thank you so much for telling the name because I might use this color for something in my own room! I also think the bamboo sticks add a really nice texture and I think the color adds a nice bit of variety to the whole thing! I would definitely put this in my room.

I love most of your other flips bc they’re done on newer pieces that have less craftsmanship… but this was a gorgeous example of midcentury furniture. These go for a lot of money. You should have taken this to a conservator or something this is heartbreaking.

I love those drawer handles. They are so apothecary style. It's wonderful! Especially when combined with the bamboo sticks and the textured paper. Color combinations are just the right touch. How creative!
Stunning 😍 I love the different texture and the duo color. Usually I find this fornire very boring and without personality, but renovated how you did, is simply an amazing piece with a lot of character.
That dresser was a classic from that period, I wish u you'd just fixed the original drawer handles and refinished it. However, since you have already redone this dresser, I don't think the 2 drawers with bamboo sticks match the color of the paint. A wash of the paint over the bamboo sticks would help it match better. Just my thoughts.

There are many brilliant mid-century pieces which should be restored rather than completely changed, however, that’s up to the owner. Knowing styles and periods would help people such as this young lady determine what to create and what to bring back. Unfortunately, many of these UA-camrs are too young to appreciate style. There are plenty of great ideas.
As a bonus, the three handle drawers come in handy for any three handed people out there!

I sanded it down on top and used a satin blocker so It wouldn’t reappear through the paint. Y’all assume a lot for only seeing a 20-30second video 🤣

It’s a “soft fit” which means I apply the handle lightly, look at it to make sure it’s 100% even and straight and then I tighten it x
