So glad I found you before finishing my diploma
Hi and thank you 😊 ☺️
Love! love! love our videos Jess! Keep up the good work. 💖
Hi Faye, Thank you for the encouragement 😘🥰
Great Video Jess, I’ve just added a few more things to my shopping list from it. Very helpful as always thank you x
You're welcome 😊 x x
Excellent information Thank you
Glad it was helpful! x x
love your videos. so helpful as a newly qualified fhp xx
Hi and great that my videos have helped x 😊
thank you it is very usefully
You are most welcome x
Thanks Jess, fab videos, I am just thinking of training, I am already a beauty therapist, so will be working with in my salon, Ax
That sounds great, and bonus that you have your own salon. Let me know if you do end up training! X x 😊
Great video. Even though your in a different country, I enjoy & value your videos❣
awww, thank you, I'm glad you've found this video enjoyable x x
Thanks!
No problem!
Thank you Jess. This is very helpful. Xx
You're welcome Gilly 😊
Thank you x 😊
Brains & Beauty! Thanks for sharing. I upgraded my opinion on the drill after my daughter, a nail tech, made my pinky toe look human again! Love from the US.
awww thats great, love to use a drill/e-file, although would like to get a suction or water drill in the future because of the nail dust x x
Can u pls share ur uk number love?
Hi Jess :) love your videos. Have been saving for a couple of years now to hopefully set up as a dom f.h.p end of next Yr, doing my course with S.m.a.e. Do you recommend buying their start up packages? Or sourcing my own things?
Thanks for your videos x
Hi Lisa, glad you're enjoying my videos. Personally I don't know what their start up kit is. When i trained I knew I wanted an autoclave that sealed the instruments in pouches, and also wanted to look and see what other suppliers offered. I think it's OK to look around and see what others have and compare with the package from Smae (podiacare). Best of luck x
Thank you! One quick question -what is the name and source of that lovely blue catch tray you use? Thanks for all you do
It's called a flexi-tray and I bought it from podiacare x x
Hi jess. Could you put a direct link or tell me which nippers you use? I bought mine and they are quite small. Yours look so much bigger and stronger. This has really helped watching this video. Thank you.
Hey 👋 I buy my nippers from different places. They are the standard nippers from the podiatry suppliers. Just make sure to check the size before you buy x
This is so helpful. Can you give us a rough guide of the cost of starting up please?
Thanks
Training and starting up I'd say roughly £4,000-5,000 maybe less for some x x
@@notapod1 thank you, I thought it was around £5k. If you have a limited company, can you claim that all as tax deductible business costs?
@@yentldonn6761 I'm not sure, best to speak to your accountant as they know soon much and are a massive help in this area of tax x x
Can you discuss other neurovasucal assessments please like Dopplers
What do you want to know about them? not wanting to tread on too much clinical theory etc, but mainly to setting up business for a NEW fhp or those who are thinking about training. I'm sure there are other videos detailing neurovascular assessments, or you could do a CPD.
Maybe on one of my 'spend the day with me' I'll do one, who knows.
Do you not do them or was you not trained to do them? x
Definitely came back to the video to see if a link for the foot rest you used was in the comments. I would appreciate it if you'd point me in the direction of a decent one. All the reviews on Amazon make me nervous. Haha.
Amanda :) I have a list of everything i've mentioned in this video in my website with the links here notapod.co.uk/equipment-to-start
Hope this helps x x
@@notapod1 Thank you! How I missed this from 4 weeks ago is a shame! On my way to your site RIGHT NOW! haha.
What is the make of this lovely domicillary bag please? Thank you in advance.
you can buy from here, Elite bags www.medisave.co.uk/?a_aid=notapod x x
Hi Jess, Great videos, most helpful. Just starting course at SMAE. What drill/file do you recommend please?
Hi Dee, I've only ever used the Melody Suzie drill so can't compare with others. Although I know that the k38 is popular to use in the community also x x
Fab videos just wanted to ask what capacity is your Ultra sonic ? just wondering what size to get ? Thank you
Hi Karl, thanks for the message, my ultrasonic is a 2500ml hope that helps. Jess :)
Hi, do you use the autoclave on the burrs after each use or is there a way to clean them in between patients during the day?
No, definitely autoclave after each use. You have to have enough burs to cover you for the day, unless you can pop home, clean and autoclave them x x
Thank you Jess! What is the brand name of your ultrasonic cleaner please?
The one I have is RS Pro. Digital ultrasonic cleaner. But make sure to look around to see which one best suits you 😉
Thank you Jess!
Such good tips for newbies and the not so new! I've accumulated so much stuff over the years, and currently lug around a large trolley which is not great for your back. So, I'm looking at your case and seriously thinking of getting one in the vain hope that I won't be able to cram it full 🤔🤗
@@fayesmith-trail7739 its crazy how much stuff we end up having. I do like to keep things simple, eg. One case. But some things live in my car like aprons and masks, foot covers etc as don't see the point in them being in my bag.. im had you liked the video 🤗🤗 x x
@@notapod1 tried that Jess! However, I'm planning to downsize to a smaller case. Shame the podiatry case doesn't come with it's own fixed wheels!
Hi Jess could you please let me know what you use ie cream etc on fissure cracked heels many thanks Emma
Hi Emma, after treating the cracked heels by reducing the callus and making smooth again, I use a 25% urea heel balm with advice to my client on how to maintain. If it's quite deep and needs closing, I irrigate with saline, dry and close with mepore cut into strips (like a steristrip) x x
Hi Jess please can you tell me what brand and where did you buy your case please thanks Ang
Yes of course 😍 the brand is Elite and currently you can buy from Medisave or Just Care Podiatry x x
Are the nail burrs sterilisable in the autoclave? Does this particular make of nail drill work well with o/x nails? Thank you in advance.
Yes, the ones I own are autoclavable. And the drill works well, but its the burr choice when it comes to reducing thickened nails, eg. Reduced heat and less dust which is why I like the ceramic Burs.😊 x
Thank you for quick and helpful response. I have been searching for the ceramic burrs. Not sure where to obtain. What a great idea to help prevent them from overheating! Your videos are fantastic! So clear and informative. Thank you.
@@fengahoos awww you're welcome. Most if not all podiatry suppliers sell ceramic Burs. C and P medical, canonbury, podiacare, cpd foot school, etc. Hope that helps x x 👍
@@notapod1 thank you so much! You are very generous with your time and info! Thank you for taking the time to get bakc to us! Best wishes xxx
Hi! Where did you get your autoclave from? TYIA!
Hi Karen, from MDS Medical x x 💙
How do you do client heels if the foot stool is so short?
to be honest, i find it most comfortable and reachable when i'm sitting on the floor doing it. lol!!! you can get adjustable stools btw. x x
Can you discuss how much clinical waste costs
Sorry, i didnt realise I never replied you, prices varies, best to contact the companies in your area for a price x x
Where is the best place to get these things from please. I'm almost halfway through the course so not started yet xxx
Ho Sarah, there are so many places, I can't say where is best as I bought from different suppliers such as Podiacare, C and P Medical, Amazon, etc. I would like to do a video on different suppliers (still pondering on it), would uou be I terested in a video like that? Pps. Good luck with the course, it'll go very quickly x x 👍
Hi Jess. I’m planning to buy a foot rest to place clients feet on. The one you have, do you recommend it? Thanks
It's OK, I'm pretty happy with it. I'd like to try some others though x x
Hi, can someone advise where I can do the Foot Practitioner course and how long it takes? Please and thanks ❤
Of course I can help. I have a list of the different foot health courses in the UK (accredited) on my website notapod.co.uk/where-to-train
Hope you find it helpful. Jess x

How to het that yellow counter for the blades?
you can purchase from any suppliers that sell podiatry consumables x x
@Not A Pod and what to do when is full? My curse supplier doesn't know what 🤣
@@sylwiaaa1986 a waste disposal company can collect it from your place of work/home. X x
@@notapod1 thank you for helping 😉
Hi Jess. Where did you train please? I want to train with a good institution. Thanks. Gill x
Hi Gill, I trained at SMAE x x
Thank you, Jess. I love your videos - they are so helpful x
Approximate cost? I onow it will depend on quality. What did it cost you?
Roughly, £2-3,000 could be more, could be less depending on the individual. (Includes autoclave) some people like myself start off by 'renting' autoclave, cost works out more over time but manageable.
Pronounced debre (debris)
🤣 here you are again correcting me lol x
