Oh God I can't believe i found this game lol... I remember playing it when I was like 9 after pulling it out of a cereal box.. it used to scare the crap out of me.. the howling wind and gloomy isolated atmosphere. I hated it lol! Could never get past the airplane part kept crashing into the mountains, good thing cause that dungeon area looks terrifying for a kid.
Literally same lmao. Out of nowhere today at work, I had this envision of some 3D ice game and it was killing me that I couldn’t remember. And I just now figured it out. Lol it was this game. Early 2000s PC computer
This game seems to have the same effect on anyone that's ever played it 😂😂😂 I knew it was real but I couldn't find it. I thought maybe it wasn't even Atlantis
I remember I couldn’t figure out what I was supposed to do in the beginning and simply swam around in the water. lol 😆 I bet I would do better now… I’ll have to look to see if I still have it, and if I do, see if it still works. 🤔
As a kid that bridge part was only as far as I got since I wasn't skilled enough to jump at the right time. Because of that everything till then is ingrained in my memory since I played it over and over.
After all these years, I finally saw the gameplay of that thing I got as a kid and... Welp, I didn't miss out much, lol. Of course, then I might have felt differently. Thanks for this.
Also got this out of a cereal box when i was a kid. My brother and I kept crashing in the mountains but i found a trick where you could fly over them, end up outside of the graphics, then fly below them directly to the temple.
I remember there being music for this first level. I used to play this game all the time just because I loved the score, but after a few years I never heard the music again. Am I going crazy...?
You may be thinking of Atlantis: The Lost Empire - Trial by Fire. The Search for the Journal game in this video was a promotional demo that you got in a cereal box I believe. The Trial by Fire game is an extended version of this. Also, I was playing this without a CD, so it's possible the CD had music on it that the game wasn't able to access. Hope this helps!
Oh I remember this game, picked it up from somewhere but i cant remember much as it was almost 15 years ago now. That damn bridge everytime I can remember! 🤬
The opening used to scare the crap out of me as a kid, I only had the demo disc so I used to play it repeatedly. I bought this game because the name ended with the word 'Empire' and I thought it would be like Age of Empires lmao
They really liked flaunting the crystal chamber scene in the trailers huh? Like yeah its one of the best scenes but maybe keep it a surprise? Anyways, cool to see this exists, and see Thaddeus talk.
Yeah it was part of the intro. They finished animating it and then cut it completely to keep it more streamlined. There's a special feature about it where you can see the whole clip.
I remember i was so young i couldn't understand how the game worked (i didn't knew english) and i couldn't get past the first enemy litteraly 😂! Now i my mind is at peace knowing what's the rest of the game ahah!
No virtual machine used for this, that I can remember anyways lol. It's possible that I ran it in some compatibility mode or something. I found the game on the ' Internet Archive ' website. archive.org/ 🙂
😮 well it sounds like I can't really do a recorded gameplay of this since it sounds like if I do that I'll need a full screen gaming friendly recording program, and Bandicam is no help
Why would you have a video titled "gameplay only" and then upload a video with 7 and a half minutes of timers and "cool" backgrounds before you even start the game?

Lol i had the exact same experience XD
God, talk about nastalgia. I literally thought I had dreamed playing this as a kid, couldn't find anything about it till now, XD

I just woke up and thought about this game randomly! I thought I was crazy when I couldn’t find it until now 😂
same thing for me. another game I forgot completely about and try to find is a monsters Inc game from the PS1 era

I got this game out of a cereal box. The keepers would give me fucking nightmares as a kid.

holy shit this is a major nostalgia trip! I just remembered this game existed and I had to find some gameplay. Thanks for this Slug
Oh the memories!!! I was always too chicken to finish the game. To be fair I was only 7 😆
I literally never made it past the first level because I was too stupid to understand FPS games >~
After all these years, I finally saw the gameplay of that thing I got as a kid and... Welp, I didn't miss out much, lol. Of course, then I might have felt differently. Thanks for this.
The keepers 😭😭😭😭😭 nightmare fuel
I remember this game scaring me when I was younger. Never did beat it.
This looked so different when I played it! It was super dark in the canyon. I struggled to find my way around.
i KNEW i didn't hallucinate this game
Maybe this is why I never like first-person games. I was traumatized from an early age
Ikr!?
i am still slightly scared

Citizen Slug
No, I had the cereal box version; this one exactly--I know this for a fact. But thanks anyway.
and with the May 2001 issue of Disney Adventures
@@purplekitkat there was definitely music I remember

Talk about memories. Great game, for coming out of a cereal box.
Este juego formó parte de mi infancia recuerdo que los enemigos me daban muy mal rollo 😅
Fuuuuck this takes me back!
We got this game as a freebie for staying in Disney World in 2001; we could never make it past the final level since the game kept crashing.
They really liked flaunting the crystal chamber scene in the trailers huh? Like yeah its one of the best scenes but maybe keep it a surprise? Anyways, cool to see this exists, and see Thaddeus talk.
Was this scene cut from the movie? Animation outsourced or in house when game was in development?

Corn pops got me this
Uh.. I remember this. I got this game bundled with Donald Duck magazine in 2000-2001? I dunno. But I remember the menu, HUD and the dark environment
Wow 🤩
so did you use a virtual machine? because I would kill to play this again and put it on my gaming schedule for next year

Because it was uploaded straight from Twitch all those years ago. You good my dude? Lol
@@CitizenSlug it's easy to edit
Or to change the title to Twitch stream?
Nah. ❤️
You do you, I usually have at least some kind of integrity behind the stuff I make. Have a good life slug,
