Had a Truma Aventa Comfort Air-conditioner fitted to our Adria Adora Sava 623. It is a game changer and makes the van so comfortable keeping the temperature at the set level and also dehumidifying the air for that cool dry alpine fresh feel. It is very quiet at night in ‘night-mode’. It is controlled either via the Alde Panel or the supplied Remote. It will also supply heat. Top tip - in very hot and humid conditions it is best to run the fan at MED or HIGH.
I bought a motorhome with this and am in the process of removing it. We don't like staying at camp sites, and as you need mains to run the air con I doubt that we would ever use it. In Germany last year it was about 40 degrees, we were on a camp site and all I did was to go fully clothed into the camp site shower on cold, soaked myself and came out and steamed. That made me cool off and didn't cost £1700! As you have to be on a camp site to use air con, it follows that you can have a cold shower. The weight is a problem on my motorhome which is very close to its maximum and I would rather carry 25litres more water which I will use rather than 25kg of air con which will be used one week per year. Having said that, Mrs is ranting at me to keep it!
Just had a Truma Comfort fitted with our new caravan. A must as far as I am concerned. Useful video. Looking at other comments I was told it runs about 3.8 amps so a 10 amp hook up upwards will allow it to run plus ability to still use other appliances.
We had a Dometic Freshjet unit installed in our motorhome and it has been a godsend. We had a powered fan/ window removed in the kitchen area and it vents to the bedroom and living room. In France and Spain we were caught up in the heatwave with 46c outside. The unit cooled our 7.5m motorhome down to 20c with ease. You need to check the site's power supply though- especially on the continent where you get perhaps 5amps.
@@abbywaddington7636 Hi. It was about £2.8k fitted. We get so much use out of it ( we travel with a cat & couldn’t leave her otherwise during the summer in the moho) It makes sleeping at night so comfortable and it also heats in the winter so we use it a lot!
@@abbywaddington7636 AMC Motorhomes near Hailsham, East Sussex. Not sure how far away they are from you but they were very good, only took a day. The air that comes out of it is like ice, it’s lovely. Think we might move in to the moho this weekend to escape the heat wave 😆 BTW. Prices may have come down since we had it installed. They’ll advise on the correct size of unit for your moho. We are 7.6m long and our AC is for a 7m van but it works fine. You can decide where the air blows, it’s all adjustable. It had a sleep mode too which is quieter and it actually brings the temp up during the night by itself because it gets colder at night so you don’t wake up frozen!
Really interesting.. something we have considered and thought about. It’s heavier than I imagined it would be.. 🤔 Shall think some more .... 👍🏼🚐😉 Cheers Michelle and Andy
Hi Andy. I've just double checked and Truma state that the closed system needs no topping up, etc, although the filter needs changing each year. Hi I have the comfort. Do you find it can vibrate at times? I think it could be down to the grp in and out as in theres no soft wallboard on baileys to dampen the vibrations down.
Any views on choice of compact or compact plus Truma units , we have small 480 swift but wonder if it's over kill to get the + version as has more cooling capacity , perhaps quicker it chill and not have to work so hard and only £200 or so more?
We have 2 Heki roof lights one in the galley and one in the bathroom, rear bedroom enteral bathroom, just wondering how it copes with the doorways with flow as yours looks off centre
Does it use much power as we often are on sites with no electrics and use a Honda generator? Also does it needs a drain for the water it generates through chilling the air?
Hi Suzanne. I went to Truma's HQ in Derbyshire. They offer a customer fitting service there, or one of their installation team can visit your local dealer to fit it.
We've stayed at lots of 6 amp European sites and never had a problem, even when it reached 45.5'C. Truma said the Aventa has a 'soft start' instead of a sudden draw of electricity which would trip the bollard. That said, a friend had his AC unit trip a bollard in Germany
The unit is fitted with filters but it doesn’t specify whether they filter pollen. It’s says they filter the air but nothing beyond that. Hope that helps. Thanks, Lee
Have you had problems at some campings with the power draw? I mean, what is the smallest fuse you have run it on? Some campings just offer like 4amps. Have you tried that? Regards
*Works great **Fastly.Cool** compact and Easy to install*

Get a 608ah battery 😎
Retiring end of this year thinking of buying a motorhome, found this very informative. Many thanks Tin Tent.
simon holmes Thanks for letting me know 👍. Buying an AC unit is an investment but one we’ve been glad of
extremely useful and well balanced critique of the Truma Aventa Compact. Thanks Tin Tent
Thanks David 👍
Threat video very detailed and a great help. Thinking of adding to my Ford Bailey Adamo 👍

Thanks for your help, you have made our minds up! We are getting one !
Ditto - great video!
Getting one of these fitted specifically for my dog!

Great video, thankyou. It was very helpful 🙂
Thank you
Nice presentation the biggest con for me is ehu avoid them all the time prefer it more peaceful thanks
Thanks Greg. There are some fantastic sites out there without electricity
Really useful video, thank you
Thank you. I hope the video helps
if you don't have the cp plus controls, does it come with its own controller? my caravan is much older and uses older analogue controls.
Yes. Yes you do.
Good vid, you day uuuuum a lot though…. 😂 out of interest did you use the air filters you can buy separately ?
In Australia I don't think you can get a caravan or motorhome without AC. I'm sure there are times in Europe when you wouldn't want to be without one.
Very good appraisal.
Thanks Nigel 👍
Great video. Do these units need servicing?

How do you get the power supply to the unit without ugly cable ducts exposed on the outside.
have the ugly cable ducts on the inside
Was hoping for an intelligent suggestion

Is your air on unit mounted in the central bathroom or galley area? We have a swift vogue Quattro 7.98 mt we have a small Hein the
It’s mounted in the centre washroom. Great air flow to either end
very informative thanks for sharing

Yes, our unit is off centre, but vents inside the Truma unit are adjustable and direct air towards both ends of the caravan 👍
Where did you get it fitted and supplied
Truma UK supplied and fitted it at their Derbyshire HQ. It can be booked directly with the Truma team, or fitted at your local caravan dealer
where it discharges the accumulated condensate?. Thanks
onto the caravan roof then runs off naturally
Does it use much power as we often are on sites with no electrics and use a Honda generator? Also does it needs a drain for the water it generates through chilling the air?
The AC unit is 1700w and there's no drain for water. Both great questions and I should've included them in the video!
Where did you get your truma aircon unit from and did they come to you to fit it
Hi Suzanne. I went to Truma's HQ in Derbyshire. They offer a customer fitting service there, or one of their installation team can visit your local dealer to fit it.
Hi thanks for the information, can I ask does the aircon still work on hook up when abroad please
Cheers 🐧🐧

Also, when we use it on low amp sites, we make sure everything else of off such as water heater, kettle, etc
Do the units filter the air? My wife has asthma and with the pollen at some sites it can affect her.
The unit is fitted with filters but it doesn’t specify whether they filter pollen. It’s says they filter the air but nothing beyond that. Hope that helps. Thanks, Lee
Thanks, will check with Truma.
where does the water go?
I've never noticed any water, condensation or otherwise. I assume it evaporates
Cv 40 Ducato van , mine drips off the back of van onto bumper
Have you had problems at some campings with the power draw? I mean, what is the smallest fuse you have run it on?
Some campings just offer like 4amps. Have you tried that?

6amp is the lowest we’ve tried and all was well. Not sure about 4amp, although Truma tell me is has a low initial start-up draw. Hope that helps, Lee
I have a 2017 7m Motorhome but I have no roof vent to fit this to .What happens then? Can thisTruma unit still be fitted ?
yes, have seen them in other motorhomes and currently having a truma fitted in my Ducato campervan. it may need a support frame inside.
Do you know zero breeze mark 2? a wanderful air conditioning solution for moterhome and caravan. battery powered and portable.
i have their promo code. email: oliverwang2004@gmail.com
