Exide and Amara Raja will be dead when EVs become mainstream. No big company will buy battery for EVs from others. Tesla manufactures their own battery. Maruti's parent company, Suzuki Japan is making a plant battery manufacturing plant in Gujarat. Tata Chemicals is making Battery plant for Tata vehicles.

After initially living with electric vehicles for a while now, mostly related to government incentive programs, people are returning to fossil fuel propulsion vehicles. This is occurring for two reasons:
1- Support infrastructure is dwindling or never materialized as promised. Leaving the electric vehicle owner desperately and continually searching for a charging apparatus
2- Government incentives to purchase electric vehicles have ended, which was the deciding factor in electric vehicle purchases for the last decade
For electric vehicles to work, there must be cost effective infrastructure first. Nowhere on earth is that more necessary than inter cities, where pollution of all types peaks to its maximum concentration. Therefore, any solution to reduce pollution needs be centered upon cities, however they are rarely the focal point. The other anomaly affecting cities is space, which needs to be married together with vehicle design and infrastructure to provide an overall solution to the problem. Until these things occur, the electric vehicle will result in nothing but a pipe dream.

@@rahuljha3965 that is good point. charging infrastructure has to private for mass adoption. public charging infrastructure is impossible in a country like except for maybe public transport vehicles like buses and commercial vehicles. The reason is petrol or diesel takes 2 minutes to fill the tank. The fastest charger takes 30 minutes. It is really not possible to provide public infrastructure for this. It will lead to chaos and logjam.

Changes happening unbelievably fast in the case of electric vehicles and lot of research happening for development of battery technology for high capacity and faster charging. We are going to move into electric era much faster than anticipated purely because of commercial and environmental reasons.

not for the next 10 years at least. EV technology will come into the reckoning only after 10 years. However it will be interesting to see what the 2 wheeler makers will do. They are ones who can accelerate the adoption of EV technology and India is the largest 2 wheeler market in the world.

Mobility needs are increasingly being served through “usership”
On-demand and Smart mobility services are a paradigm-changing development. Electric mobility would dramatically reduce the TCO for mobility services.
It requires a complete rethinking of the way to deliver value to the market
To succeed, companies must expand their focus from the product (the automobile) to the utility derived from the product (“automobility”)

Until there is restrictions on supply of vehicles other than e -vehicles provided to public servants , judges , beurocrats, Engineering estbs., & change in Public Transport system, it will be political stunt only. Govt.sould come forward to facilitate & provide incentives on this account to make it a success.

Keen Interest..not at all...the guest here may just has 10% of the knowledge when it comes to EV. Now here is the current status: Hero Electric is in stone age when it comes to EV nor they have shown any interest in developing the technology further in past decade. There are market distruptures like 'Okinawa' and '22motors' and they going to make it big in India. 'Himadri Speciality Chemical' going to be leader in supplying key material for lethium ion batteries not just in India but on global scale. NBCC is going to the main player from government side for infra push for building charging stations. Mark my words there is a silent revolution going on in India and unfortunately these so called 'specialist' have very little knowledge about the current situation and future prospects.
Also I would like all to just follow the stock price of Himadri Speciality Chemical and NBCC... there business going to grow multi fold and so their stock price in the coming decade.
If any one wants to know the reasons behind my analysis pls let me know.

Potential drawback in india related to mechanic and efficency of repairs most we found as a user failure of spare parts recommended by mechanic near by shops or this all related to commision there is no punishable law has not even recommended or enforced in coming years it also becames a night mare handling such objection negligenace by goverment central and state mechanic association vs manfuatures vs consumer who been fooled more than consumer always has to take back last sight due to his views almost unlistened by the manfuactures there is no law to protect consumers
Mechanic repair and renewal services and spare price almost vary different parts of state and district as per the law there is no such protection of law to protect consumer who invest huge money on purchasing electric vechile and spent more than car for the expenses this how mechanic repair and renewals drive In two wheller segment three wheeler and four wheeler segment
District mechanic char should be exercised unde r the gdp of district laws should be enforced and protected for electric vechile price chart for repairs should be exercised

    sir/Madam
unless if they mechanic and repair renewal and spares prices said and given to customers a standard repair service should be given inter city raidus or outside the city radius be it any form of repair
mechani assoication direct control by the company and should be brining a price chart for the reapair and renewal service if that not exercised it always a big threat in any district and any state each one runs at the level of exploiting any level of customer and consumer greater practice electrial electronic and petrol and diseal vechile been practiced in any state unless that allows to show how much failure done by pushing their fake spare products and fake repairs this all greater practice when the law wil be protected the consumer
in any state and any district this all not even in practice any standard chart should be brought under the law discussion with mechanic and repair , today fake repairer always damage any vechile spares fake business carried right form tube to tyres and spare parts we can count on any level of busienss carried
second hand product sold as a fresh product in any city
so unless electric vechile standard a price chart would support any user to be preapred how much expenses would cost for a reapir and renewals so much basic
unless manfuactures should be exercising more than training them should be access the price to consumer

solar vechile or electric vechile will be in higher cost that what india cannot carry this highest rated vechile already that what happend in 2003 to 2006 and failed in tamilnadu
again solar electric vechile if they make fool public by giving high hope and making big money for mahindra is looking up to deliver the product with a price of 6 to 7lakh car vechile and this all highest fooling public when we look less than that disel car or petro car solar and electric vechile very cheap y india making with private vendors and fooling public
y govt making fun of public when demanded solar electric vechile gives zero maintance y to fool saying this and all more costliest and fooling public
