    I am super happy that they are talking about EVs feeding energy back to the grid during peak time. It’s may be a long way off but I’m just kind of relieved it’s there!!! :-) Loving this interview!

    It's too late.
    Still we are in the range of 140 Km.
    As Tesla reached the scale of 800 km per charge.

      This will obviously be the case as tesla invests more in battery technology and also Mahindra's car and its battery size is smaller as compared to Tesla's.

    It's good that even on ground level govt is building better public infrastructure like road highway etc. shifting public transport to EV public transport will be a big push for EV vehicle manufacturers in India , along with this EESL is acting as a midiater to provide affordable EV to consumer .

    She is totally wrong on the statement ‘Power moves away from OEMs to battery manufacturer.” The role of OEMs is convert energy to rotary motion. Same applies with EVs too. OEMs are not in the energy business. The power moves from oil industry to the battery industry.

    As battery cost is reducing every year, cost of the vehicle also goes down & also no.of users goes high
    If your battery is low at highway road you have to charge at any battery charge stations if available like Tesla
    Each car takes atleast 1hr to get charged as per current technology
    If there are three cars are running our of battery at a time, it takes 3 hrs of time
    What is the solution for this especially in a crowded places like India?

    Interesting discussion. Though the Nissan guy seemed more interested in importing and selling the leaf in India rather than giving a better solution which would benefit the local economy.

      Sanket Garade No you don’t understand what he said. Leaf is one of the best selling ev’s in the world. The motive is to create a market which will introduce the technology into the country.

    What is government doing about it? Giving threats to car manufacturers! Isn't it
    their responsibility to come up with more and more charging stations everyday. All they have to do is to order all the petrol pump owners to install EV charging points within their vicinity. Thats it. Other than that, they should lift all the taxes off the EV from all stages of its productions to sales. Moreover they can encourage people by making tolls free for EV owners. These are few things required to encourage people to go electric.

      It's actually not as easy as you said according to me. the first thing to consider is that will petrol and high voltage be there at the same place for safety reasons

    Very nice discussion. It's very important that we have such healthy discussion about EV ecosystem. That's the only way we can move in that direction.....we need to keep trying...

      Use them till they die out. 2030 is deadline only for selling ICE cars. You can use them till the end of the century if they work.

    • @RaphaeHalim
      @RaphaeHalim 7 років тому +2

      I would love to retrofit say, an old Ambi! Or a Royal Enfield. Let the energy side catch up... Then it would even make sense to make retrofit kits. In such a way that if the owner wanted they could even put back the “restored” ICE engine just for fun :-) But seriously retrofit kits seem a good way. The material of the ICE could be recycled too.

    In india if you say it's a developing country I will say you are wrong, it does come as underdeveloped countries the way things work here. I can give examples like if you travel 400 kms today on a good highway road to get to your home you need to spend on firstly buying a vehicle then maintainence cost plus cost of petrol or diesel to reach the destination and this is not at all it, you actually have to pay alot of toll taxes as the Indian govt aren't making roads they give tenders to companies and they make the highways and take money from driving cars trucks bikes etc and one can easily assume that they are already paying the govt taxes plus road taxes then why should someone has to pay toll tax? If you can go on any big highways in india you will find many toll taxes. You can also look at the metros in india, those looking clean metros aren't made by our govt it's maded by a foreign company and they chrages what they feel right that's why metro rates went up. Now look at the government made train stations are those clean and I am not talking about two three stations in india where government thinks it's a tourist spot so really needs cleaning. But rather all the the cities stations in india like above 99 percentage of them aren't hygienic at all nor the trains even if you see the biggest station like new Delhi's looks like crap which is in fact our capital city of India. Those train's engines are more than 40 years old tech plus many runs on coal still? Why? If anyone can answer this

    NOTHING will take off UNLESS there is a firm, viable, practical plan, to set up charging station infrastructure, so that charging stations are available at the same, existing number of gas stations in the country. For this, the energy requirement is the biggest hurdle and this HAS to be streamlined by the Central government and state Governments in Tandem. Prospective charging stations have to employ hybrid input power feeder options, like Wind, Solar and Grid power, where the priority is on Wind & Solar and Grid power is just a filler, to bridge a deficit, as and when the need arises. Private customers will Never opt for electric vehicles unless cheap & handy power recharging infrastructure are available.

    Bringing electric vehicles is actually a poor idea ... Battery recycling will lead to heavy metal pollution..... We need alternative technologies where there is no pollutants...

    • @sabyasaachikarmakar422
      @sabyasaachikarmakar422 6 років тому +1

      So what you are suggesting is that we sit back, and let the Electric Vehicle tide pass out, and we should do nothing but watch? EVs are the next big thing. If there was ever a chance to actually fulfill the 'Make in India' proverb, this is it.

    • @vsk7721

      Sabyasaachi Karmakar thinking its the solution will limit your options of a non polluted future what we need is clean technology and not another problem to solve....

    • @saifunazar322
      @saifunazar322 6 років тому +1

      @@vsk7721 it is one of the solution
      eg-Kerala is clean hydroelectric
      ,even need less part than engine so it is less metal pollution, maintenance is less costly,price is high now for car but when it come main stream it will have less expensive also we need lot of fast charger like 15 to 20 /100km
      we can't run on pollution anymore ...govetment should support us like China. China is now biggest on zero emission car which is bigger than us on population...

    Potential drawback in india related to mechanic and efficency of repairs
    most we found as a user failure of spare parts recommended by mechanic near by shops or this all related to commision there is no punisheable law has not even recommended or enforced in coming years it also becames a night mare handling such objection negligenace by goverment central and state
    mechanic association vs manfuatures vs consumer who been fooled more than consumer always has to take back last sight due to his views almost unlistened by the manfuactures
    there is no law to protect consumers

    Mechanic repair and renewal services and spare price almost vary different parts of state and district as per the law there is no such protection of law to protect consumer who invest huge money on purchasing electric vechile and spent more than car for the expenses this how mechanic repair and renewals drive In two wheller segment three wheeler and four wheeler segment
    District mechanic char should be exercised unde r the gdp of district laws should be enforced and protected for electric vechile price chart for repairs should be exercised

  • @lololee2580
    @lololee2580 4 роки тому

    unless if they mechanic and the repair renewal and spares prices said and given to customers a standard repair service should be given inter city raidus or outside the city radius be it any form of repair
    mechani assoication direct control by the company and should be brining a price chart for the reapair and renewal service if that not exercised it always a big threat in any district and any state each one runs at the level of exploiting any level of customer and consumer greater practice electrial electronic and petrol and diseal vechile been practiced in any state unless that allows to show how much failure done by pushing their fake spare products and fake repairs this all greater practice when the law wil be protected the consumer
    in any state and any district this all not even in practice any standard chart should be brought under the law discussion with mechanic and repair , today fake repairer always damage any vechile spares fake business carried right form tube to tyres and spare parts we can count on any level of busienss carried
    second hand product sold as a fresh product in any city
    so unless electric vechile standard a price chart would support any user to be preapred how much expenses would cost for a reapir and renewals so much basic
    unless manfuactures should be exercising more than training them should be access the price to consumer

    Why the fuck they are emphasizing so much on electric cars.Instead they must emphasize on better public transport and eventually ban it like Singapore .Electric cars are better than petrol and diesel but not by a very large margin.Electric cars are cars running on coal.

      We are third largest nuclear energy producers in the world which emits only O2 and is 99% non polluting.....
      We are by 2020 would be worlds largest solar energy consumers....Then how can you say this????

    • @amritprusty6097
      @amritprusty6097 7 років тому

      Non conventional sources of energy(solar energy,wind energy ,geothermal energy) are not as green as you think .Infact nuclear energy is the cleanest form of energy among these.Do you know during the mining process for solar panels there are compounds like S2O4 etc which are produced as waste that are 1500-2000 times more potent than CO.There are other dark truths about the so called "green energy".Green energy is more of a 'gimmick' produced by Americans who don't want to sacrifice their extravagant lifestyle.No form of energy is free of side effects.For more information about,I would like you to read the book "Green Illusions".I am not saying that we should not produce it as we eventually will run out of fossils fuels but rather think that they are not harmless.The only best way to to fight global warming is using less energy and the best way to do that is by using Public Transport.

      EV requires good quality batteries which is very costly. Batteries can be charged and discharged 1000 times only. Also, batteries will not provide steady current after lapse of one year. Available ups in offices are not providing sufficient backup after two years. Only for short distance, we can think of evs.
