When I was saved and the Holy Spirit entered me back in August, this was my first conviction. I had been a tattoo artist for 4 and a half years and left it behind me officially two days ago. I don't know where this new chapter will take me, but I am walking by faith and not by sight. All glory to God 🎉✝️💖
People can see that tatoo is a sin because of its significance to the eyesight. But all of us have sin; only our Lord Jesus has not. Believing in our Lord Jesus and his sacrifice on the cross makes everything clean. This is the significance we need to have on sight (this is how we followed his command), and we value the forgiveness of sin. The command is to enter his kingdom, i.e., the Church of Christ.

I'm a Christian but I'm a tattoo artist ..I've been tattooing for 15 years now....and last month I took the decision of quitting coz the conviction was so strong..so this will be my month of tattooing..I don't know what my future holds but I know who holds my future....it's all about obedience and faith. 🫶🏻 2:24 God bless you all!
Paul states to remain and to stick to what you are, whenever you turn to Jesus and become a newborn person. That means you could keep tatooing people but perhaps only neutral drawings (such as flowers, some sort of pretty animals etc) and above all, "pushing" the person to tatoo a verse from the bible, there are so many from Proverbs and Qoelet that are very amusing...
You really took a courageous decision. You chose to follow what your soul said, what God inspired you, and for that, the all mighty will surely give you reward... you just need to keep your faith and wait. May Jesus bless you brother!
I was in the Navy and young (and stupid) when I got my tattoos. Many, many years later, I came to Christ and got baptized, and my sins (up to that point) were washed away, so I always give thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ for His Divine Mercy on a poor sinner like me.
Baptism doesn’t wash sins! Baptism is a symbol that you’re giving up ur old life (dying) and starting a new one for Christ! Your sins get forgiven by God, not the water. But anyway, happy for you man! Godbless

What does that have to do with tattoos? They are not images to bow down to. It also says not to trim the corners of your beard. And to not wear clothes made of two different types of fibers. I worked on cruise ships for nine years, there were tatoo artists in every tourist spot we disembarked, I always got tempted, but never got one, so I am thankful that God gave me enough strength to resist the temptation.
Unfortunately most women and young girls do not resist the temptation and they defile themselves. I think in a way it's a wonderful thing because it's one of the best prophylactics and birth control methods there is because even if I was the most handsome Man and Filthy Rich I wouldn't touch a woman with a tattoo not even if they paid me more money. And unfortunately another detail about it would be I wouldn't really respect her either as a person.
It amazes me how many things I have avoided in my life because my God has told me, that the things aren't good for me. Without knowing the scripture. And then I am crushed with grief, when I think of the things He told me were bad, and I knew the scripture, and I did those things anyway. But I rejoice through my tears, because it makes His existence as obvious as that fallen one who lead me, so easily in to temptation. when my father was in the navy, he got a tattoo. when he became christian, he got it removed the old school, a slice of skin was removed, it left a nasty scar for the rest of his days and for me showed how radical his conversion was. that leaves a hight concept of what believing in God means.
being strong physically can allow you to help other and not be a burden to someone else. every christian should lift weights. not for vanity but for strenght and health.
lifting weigths can be a way like another to acquire self discipline...it is not a sin unless you don't take care about your health taking steroids or wasting your time all the day long inside a gym...
I tattooed for 15 years and my life became unbearable, difficult and unpleasant. I started to consider whether what I was doing was not working against me. I asked God for help, to pull me out of this abyss of human suffering, and God helped me. I am currently training in tattoo removal techniques and I hope that the Holy Spirit will continue to guide me. There is something symbolic in the fact that the tattoo cannot be exposed to sunlight and at the same time concentrated light can remove it

When I was growing up, art was the greatest thing to me. When I realized you could place your own art on your own body, I was hooked. However, 30+ years later I still have no ink. There was always something inside of me telling me not to. That it was vain and pointless. I now know whose word has been upon me since I was little. Amen 🙏

Anyone who disagrees loves the world more than God, i have tattoos that I got when I was outside of Christ, I changed my ways and repent, I wear long sleeves in church to not influence the younger kids, but they can still see my hands, knuckles, and neck so I actively speak out against it. If you truly love God then doing what he asks of you doesn't feel like a burden.

It reminds me how the Jews put that box on their forehead to represent keeping Gods word on their minds. It wasn't a mark though. Many say they feel it was ok to get tatoos, but did God tell them it was ok? We like to justify our motives, but is that what God wanted for us? Each has to go to God and if you feel its a no...then stop getting more. I have a sibling that did something and she said, God said it was ok. A year or so later, she repented. So you see, we must really seek God on matters and wait "patiently." Always use the word of God to direct you, and also be around strong men of God for council and prayer.

What if the tattoo was given by The Holy Spirits? I have tattoos in my body and all of them(except the name of my beloved mother and brother) were given by Holy Spirits through visions then i drew it and get it tattooed at the same spot that were shown to me. Does that make it a sin? This marks were sacred to me as they were a gift from the Higher Ones and it serves as a reminder for myself of what my duty on earth are. @wendya5887 this was in reference to the events of that time period. I am not condoning tattoos, I have 2 myself. One is the cross with the word Jesus written in Hebrew. God wants to know your heart. The physical outward appearance has no power over the heart. If your heart is in the right place and is going in the right direction, that is what matters. When you are being judged on the Day of Judgment, God will judge your heart, not your skin. He will judge your beliefs, not your appearance. We must remember this before condemning others

This explains why everytime i enter a tattoo shop i feel a very demonic bad vibe. I immediately leave. I feel drained and depressed there and incredibly unsettled
I got fully tattooed for vanity. Even tattooed on my face. I would tell people that if you are in christ, you dont need a tattoo because vanity doesnt exist in the embrace of christ.

I believe that tattoos are of personal conviction, meaning God may allow you to get a tattoo for testimonial reasons like you said, but with other people He may not allow them too, He allows you because that is your personal way of sharing your testimony with others and bringing others to the Kingdom, but then again still pray about it❤

I've never read that in the Bible. The only vague reference I know of is "Thou shalt not make any markings on the flesh for the living or the dead." The reason I know that one is because i asked my dad before getting tattooed. My dad, both my grandfather's, and 2 uncles were ministers.
I have one in memory of my brother-in-law, but it doesn't have his name -nor is it a picture of him, or R.I.P , just something to remember him; so I think I'm good.
If we're going to use Leviticus as our reason to justify tattoos are not ok, we are in ALOT of trouble because there are MANY things we practice that are also in Leviticus that we aren't suppose to do. Ppl in the period of time used to trim their beards or cut their hair into certain shapes or patterns to publicly identify themselves as being part of a certain fertility cult. _That_ is what God outlaws: cutting one's hair into idolatrous patterns and shape. Context is extremely important. The Bible also says not to wear garments of mixed fabrics and, of course, it also mentions many other things such as animals that we cannot eat. There was quite a bit of stuff in the Old Testament that was taken out of context and taken literally that Jesus came and espoused further on. THIS is one of those things that I believe is being taken out of context. We all know that it's a sin to look at a woman with lust, but, IMO, this is like saying that I can't look at a woman at all. Or believing that it is suicide to refuse care that would keep you alive. Murder is also wrong, but what of self-defense? The context matters. The WHAT and WHY behind the tattoo is what I believe matters. The Bible may not say that tattooing is a sin itself, however the simple fact that the Bible does not make such a claim does not mean that it is allowed to do so or that it recommends someone do it. However, we have to remember that we are ambassadors for Christ and we must exercise wisdom and prudence if having a tattoo is something we are considering. Getting a tattoo is personal and it can become a proud and selfish part of you without realizing it and THAT is where I believe that the line is drawn. "All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not." - 1 Corinthians 10:23 "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? I know that Jesus Christ doesn't want us tattooing ourselves, when the bible states we are made in the image of God and says that we are Gods property Jesus Christ is making it clear that we should look as close to how he designed us. have continually heard religious people cite Leviticus 19:28 to insult people merely because they have tattoos. As if that somehow makes them less human, less godly, or less Christian. So using the SAME chapter of the bible I ask those who cite the OLD testament law how they fair out… Do you wear cotton and denim at the same time? Oh, there’s a LOT more to the law than this. I just scratched the surface of one chapter. There’s lots of wisdom in the old testament, but when we start picking and choosing the laws we personally haven’t violated and which ones we can judge people by we miss the point. The law never made anyone righteous (Rom 3:20), and we are all hopeless under it. God is not concerned about a tattoo. He’s only concerned about whether or not we believe in Jesus. The Holiness of Jesus is the example ...the sacred template for all mankind. He had no tattoos and His only piercings were done on the cross for our salvation.

The argument, "Your body is copyrighted from God and you cannot modify it without God's permission" fails when you consider that surgeries regularly "modify" the body. People also regularly significantly modify the appearance of their body through non-surgical means as well, through diet, exercise, etc. Also, through ear piercings, makeup, clothing style, jewelry, etc. Isaiah 61:10 talks about brides adorning/modifying the appearance of their bodies with jewels for their husband, and it's a good thing. The Bible talks about people wearing earrings, and there is no problem with that. Abraham's servant gave Rebecca an earring and bracelets, on Abraham's behalf in Genesis 24. No problem there. In Exodus, it was a common thing for the women, daughters and even sons to wear earrings (Exodus 32:2). In Exodus 35:22, lots of women AND MEN brought bracelets and earrings and rings and jewels as an offering to the Lord. Those weren't evil things. Proverbs 25:12 compares "a word fitly spoken" as being like "an earring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold". In other words, a good thing. In Ezekiel 16, it gives an analogy, and talks about God cleaning a polluted person (representing Israel), decking that person with ornaments of gold, necklace, earrings, beautiful clothing, even placing a crown on her head. If God was doing this and describing this in positive terms, then it is not an evil thing. Jesus himself has permanent writing on his physical body in Revelation 19:16, where it says that on his thigh, he has a name written: "KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS". Some people interpret Leviticus 19:28 as referring to tattoos, but the word tattoo wasn't invented until the 1700s. The verse before Leviticus 19:28 talks about not trimming your beard. Are we not allowed to trim beards today? Why don't we cite that too? It certainly applied back then, when you understood the meaning back then, why the beard was being cut, it had a pagan religious context. Similarly, the "markings" or cuttings or brandings that were being described back then in Leviticus 19:28 had a very specific religious context in those heathen cultures. People would mark or brand themselves in worship to false gods, supposedly to help them with fertility, or as an expression of their service to false gods, or as being done "for the dead" as Leviticus 19:28 indicates. This was why those things were forbidden. God's people were specifically instructed not to follow the common pagan practices of those days. Similarly, in the New Testament, when Paul wrote to the Corinthians in (1 Corinthians 11) for women not to have short hair, this was an issue in the Greek Corinthian society with short haired women being associated with pagan temple prostitutes. It would be like living in a city where everyone that wears blue is associated with a particular street gang. Then a smart preacher says, "Don't wear blue so people don't confuse you with them." But consider this point: After writing what Paul did about women's short hair Corinthians 11, Paul concludes by saying, "But if anyone is contentious about what I am saying about this, we have no such CUSTOM, neither the churches of God." In other words, "This is my personal judgment, and my recommendation, but it's not some official thing we are doing, nor any of the churches." In other words, it's not actually a sin. People are free to exercise their own personal good judgment in this case. Generally, we must follow the dictates of our conscience. As Romans 14:23 states, if you do something that you believe to be a sin, that is the same as sin to you, even if wasn't something that the Bible defines as being a sin. Don't leap into doing something you feel uncertain about. As one minister aptly said, "If in doubt, chicken out."

People with large portions of their body can have liver problems, for instance, since our skin is one of our filtration systems for the body. However perhaps the worst part of it is that it feeds into vanity, and vanity is on the bad side of pride. People may ask, again, "why is it such a big deal?" when it seems so small, yet they seem to forget that Evil is conniving, duplicitous and subtle; unless you are vigilant, it can sneak in over time, and every little bit that acts as yet another reminder of vanity adds up over time. That being said, I have no dog in the fight either way because I never got any Tattoo's, never wanted any, and dont really care personally if anyone else does or not.

I grew up hearing this for years. Yes, some in our church had tattoos, but that was where they left it and received no more. Years later, I debated getting a tattoo, but His word is always in my mind -- I have none.

When I was lost I had two put on my arms, then when I got saved I was drunk and hi when I got on my knees and sak Jesus to forgive me and I sak him inmy heart, I got up sober and in my right mind, my sins are forgiven, my tattoos are still there but when I get rapture my new body will be perfect.

I knew about god, even knew a lot of the Bible, but Christ never truly dwelled in my heart. But he now has redeemed my lost soul and I have fully felt the conviction to never get another tattoo in my life. I grew up in a catholic family and environment and I was told as a child that my body was a "rental" body from God and just like a rental you will have to give it back one day and it better be the same way you got it. Also, that we need to treat our bodies as a temple and take care of it! Getting a tattoo is like painting a car you rented in a different color without asking permission from the rental place which most likely will say no to that! But like the bishop said, just ask God for forgiveness and you will be forgiven. God is a loving father!

The one tattoo I have that is a copy of the statue outside of the Murrah building in Oklahoma City is the statue of Jesus crying facing the building that used to be there. I should’ve died there, but the Lord saw fit for me to ignore alarm clocks and woke me up after it blew up.

You bettet stop cutting the hair on the side of your head ans trimming the sides of your beard then, as according to Lev 19:27, the immediate verse about tatoos, would mean it is a sin to cut the hair on the side of your head, and to trim the sides of your beard. I personally believe the points made in Leviticus are referring to blasphemous worship of false idols through self mutilation. I tried getting a tattoo 3-4 times and each time either the tattooist didn’t show up, I couldn’t make the appointment, or the last one - the tattoo artist literally ran away from the shop after showing me some designs . I'm came from a traditional evangelical church which our teaching said the same thing about tattoo. Our body is a holy temple so you need to keep it that way. However, the problem started to occur when some sort of 'celebrity' church or mega church started to said okay to tattoo. Their justification are based on 'whatever you are doing, do it for Christ'.

I worked on cruise ships for nine years, there were tatoo artists in every tourist spot we disembarked, I always got tempted, but never got one, so I am thankful that God gave me enough strength to resist the temptation.
Unfortunately most women and young girls do not resist the temptation and they defile themselves. I think in a way it's a wonderful thing because it's one of the best prophylactics and birth control methods there is because even if I was the most handsome Man and Filthy Rich I wouldn't touch a woman with a tattoo not even if they paid me more money. And unfortunately another detail about it would be I wouldn't really respect her either as a person.
It amazes me how many things I have avoided in my life because my God has told me, that the things aren't good for me. Without knowing the scripture.
And then I am crushed with grief, when I think of the things He told me were bad, and I knew the scripture, and I did those things anyway.
But I rejoice through my tears, because it makes His existence as obvious as that fallen one who lead me, so easily in to temptation.

when my father was in the navy, he got a tattoo. when he became christian, he got it removed the old school, a slice of skin was removed, it left a nasty scar for the rest of his days and for me showed how radical his conversion was. that leaves a hight concept of what believing in God means.

I tattooed for 15 years and my life became unbearable, difficult and unpleasant. I started to consider whether what I was doing was not working against me. I asked God for help, to pull me out of this abyss of human suffering, and God helped me. I am currently training in tattoo removal techniques and I hope that the Holy Spirit will continue to guide me.
There is something symbolic in the fact that the tattoo cannot be exposed to sunlight and at the same time concentrated light can remove it

When I was growing up, art was the greatest thing to me. When I realized you could place your own art on your own body, I was hooked. However, 30+ years later I still have no ink. Anyone who disagrees loves the world more than God, i have tattoos that I got when I was outside of Christ, I changed my ways and repent, I wear long sleeves in church to not influence the younger kids, but they can still see my hands, knuckles, and neck so I actively speak out against it.

It reminds me how the Jews put that box on their forehead to represent keeping Gods word on their minds. It wasn't a mark though. Many say they feel it was ok to get tatoos, but did God tell them it was ok? We like to justify our motives, but is that what God wanted for us? Each has to go to God and if you feel its a no...then stop getting more. I have a sibling that did something and she said, God said it was ok. A year or so later, she repented. So you see, we must really seek God on matters and wait "patiently." Always use the word of God to direct you, and also be around strong men of God for council and prayer.

What if the tattoo was given by The Holy Spirits? I have tattoos in my body and all of them(except the name of my beloved mother and brother) were given by Holy Spirits through visions then i drew it and get it tattooed at the same spot that were shown to me. Does that make it a sin? This marks were sacred to me as they were a gift from the Higher Ones and it serves as a reminder for myself of what my duty on earth are. God wants to know your heart. The physical outward appearance has no power over the heart. If your heart is in the right place and is going in the right direction, that is what matters. When you are being judged on the Day of Judgment, God will judge your heart, not your skin. He will judge your beliefs, not your appearance. We must remember this before condemning others

I didn't know it was wrong when I got my tattoo, it's actually been a segway to confess my faith and to give my testimony in Christ.
I believe that tattoos are of personal conviction, meaning God may allow you to get a tattoo for testimonial reasons like you said, but with other people He may not allow them too, He allows you because that is your personal way of sharing your testimony with others and bringing others to the Kingdom, but then again still pray about it❤

I've never read that in the Bible. The only vague reference I know of is "Thou shalt not make any markings on the flesh for the living or the dead." The reason I know that one is because i asked my dad before getting tattooed. My dad, both my grandfather's, and 2 uncles were ministers.
I have one in memory of my brother-in-law, but it doesn't have his name -nor is it a picture of him, or R.I.P , just something to remember him; so I think I'm good.

The ppl who cite the prohibition against cutting one's hair demonstrate their ignorance. Leviticus was written to the ancient Israelites, not modern day Christians.
Context is extremely important. The Bible also says not to wear garments of mixed fabrics and, of course, it also mentions many other things such as animals that we cannot eat. There was quite a bit of stuff in the Old Testament that was taken out of context and taken literally that Jesus came and espoused further on. THIS is one of those things that I believe is being taken out of context. We all know that it's a sin to look at a woman with lust, but, IMO, this is like saying that I can't look at a woman at all. Or believing that it is suicide to refuse care that would keep you alive. Murder is also wrong, but what of self-defense? The context matters. The WHAT and WHY behind the tattoo is what I believe matters. The Bible may not say that tattooing is a sin itself, however the simple fact that the Bible does not make such a claim does not mean that it is allowed to do so or that it recommends someone do it. However, we have to remember that we are ambassadors for Christ and we must exercise wisdom and prudence if having a tattoo is something we are considering. Getting a tattoo is personal and it can become a proud and selfish part of you without realizing it and THAT is where I believe that the line is drawn.

have continually heard religious people cite Leviticus 19:28 to insult people merely because they have tattoos. As if that somehow makes them less human, less godly, or less Christian. So using the SAME chapter of the bible I ask those who cite the OLD testament law how they fair out…

Oh, there’s a LOT more to the law than this. I just scratched the surface of one chapter.
There’s lots of wisdom in the old testament, but when we start picking and choosing the laws we personally haven’t violated and which ones we can judge people by we miss the point. The law never made anyone righteous (Rom 3:20), and we are all hopeless under it.
God is not concerned about a tattoo. He’s only concerned about whether or not we believe in Jesus. Jesus changes the heart! It’s not what we put IN the body or ON the body that defiles us, but rather what comes from the heart that defiles us.

In GOD'S HOUSE, they TAKE ADVANTAGE, always covet the comforts of the flesh, and have no regard for God's interests. They always seek what is good for them, and they do not understand God's will. They do not ACCEPT GOD'S SPIRIT'S EXAMINATION of anything they DO. The argument, "Your body is copyrighted from God and you cannot modify it without God's permission" fails when you consider that surgeries regularly "modify" the body. People also regularly significantly modify the appearance of their body through non-surgical means as well, through diet, exercise, etc. Also, through ear piercings, makeup, clothing style, jewelry, etc.
Isaiah 61:10 talks about brides adorning/modifying the appearance of their bodies with jewels for their husband, and it's a good thing. The Bible talks about people wearing earrings, and there is no problem with that. Abraham's servant gave Rebecca an earring and bracelets, on Abraham's behalf in Genesis 24. No problem there. In Exodus, it was a common thing for the women, daughters and even sons to wear earrings (Exodus 32:2). In Exodus 35:22, lots of women AND MEN brought bracelets and earrings and rings and jewels as an offering to the Lord. Those weren't evil things. Proverbs 25:12 compares "a word fitly spoken" as being like "an earring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold". In other words, a good thing. In Ezekiel 16, it gives an analogy, and talks about God cleaning a polluted person (representing Israel), decking that person with ornaments of gold, necklace, earrings, beautiful clothing, even placing a crown on her head. If God was doing this and describing this in positive terms, then it is not an evil thing.
Jesus himself has permanent writing on his physical body in Revelation 19:16, where it says that on his thigh, he has a name written: "KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS". Some people interpret Leviticus 19:28 as referring to tattoos, but the word tattoo wasn't invented until the 1700s. The verse before Leviticus 19:28 talks about not trimming your beard. Are we not allowed to trim beards today? Why don't we cite that too? It certainly applied back then, when you understood the meaning back then, why the beard was being cut, it had a pagan religious context. Similarly, the "markings" or cuttings or brandings that were being described back then in Leviticus 19:28 had a very specific religious context in those heathen cultures.
People would mark or brand themselves in worship to false gods, supposedly to help them with fertility, or as an expression of their service to false gods, or as being done "for the dead" as Leviticus 19:28 indicates. This was why those things were forbidden. God's people were specifically instructed not to follow the common pagan practices of those days. Similarly, in the New Testament, when Paul wrote to the Corinthians in (1 Corinthians 11) for women not to have short hair, this was an issue in the Greek Corinthian society with short haired women being associated with pagan temple prostitutes. It would be like living in a city where everyone that wears blue is associated with a particular street gang. Then a smart preacher says, "Don't wear blue so people don't confuse you with them." But consider this point: After writing what Paul did about women's short hair Corinthians 11, Paul concludes by saying, "But if anyone is contentious about what I am saying about this, we have no such CUSTOM, neither the churches of God." In other words, "This is my personal judgment, and my recommendation, but it's not some official thing we are doing, nor any of the churches." In other words, it's not actually a sin. People are free to exercise their own personal good judgment in this case.
Generally, we must follow the dictates of our conscience. As Romans 14:23 states, if you do something that you believe to be a sin, that is the same as sin to you, even if wasn't something that the Bible defines as being a sin. Don't leap into doing something you feel uncertain about. As one minister aptly said, "If in doubt, chicken out."

I knew about god, even knew a lot of the Bible, but Christ never truly dwelled in my heart. But he now has redeemed my lost soul and I have fully felt the conviction to never get another tattoo in my life. I grew up in a catholic family and environment and I was told as a child that my body was a "rental" body from God and just like a rental you will have to give it back one day and it better be the same way you got it. Also, that we need to treat our bodies as a temple and take care of it! Getting a tattoo is like painting a car you rented in a different color without asking permission from the rental place which most likely will say no to that! But like the bishop said, just ask God for forgiveness and you will be forgiven. God is a loving father!

To be old and wise, one first needs to be young and stupid. I know many people who wish that they had never gotten their tattoos.
Youth can excuse stupidity up to a point but as a youth even I didn't want to deface my body with something I had to look at for the rest of my life. It also makes me cringe to see a cop with his arms completely defaced.

I personally believe the points made in Leviticus are referring to blasphemous worship of false idols through self mutilation. We are told of this in the stories of Elijah, and how the fools who called themselves sorcerers and spiritual icons would cut themselves and make a spectacle of they're self mutilations in an attempt to get they're false idols to bring rain during a drought. Obviously this failed, however it is said that Elijah simply walked upon a hill and asked Our Lord for rain, and Our Lord did bring rain. And it's said the people cried out saying "The Lord he is God, The Lord he is God." I think tattoos in a general sense are forgivable. Yeah I have tattoos and getting more; also not going to hell for them. All my tattoos point to God; also including bible verses. Like said in the video Jesus Christ is in our hearts; getting a tattoo can’t remove Him.

I thought tattoos were bad in the Bible because they were putting idols and other gods on their bodies and that’s what it referred to? I’m not sure like a flower or something would be bad? But I am unsure I do not have a single tattoo but that’s only because I never wanted anything permanently put on my body. I knew someone who had Jesus and different scriptures on his body. Was he doing a sin?

Yes. Aside from the prohibition concerning getting tattoos, the 2nd Commandment expressly forbids making any physical representations of God, which would obviously include Christ since He is God. One of the things that makes this problematic is that when ppl get tattoos of Christ, it is often the false, trinitarian, long-haired, effeminate looking Christ that is worshiped by Catholics and Protestants.
Yup. I have tatoos, and have had them for a long time. If you want to be a true Christian, then it's not ideal. I simply cannot dispute that. He calls it like it is and I don't think it should be any different. Now I think the coolest thing is people that don't have any. That's something to be proud of.

I'm came from a traditional evangelical church which our teaching said the same thing about tattoo. Our body is a holy temple so you need to keep it that way. However, the problem started to occur when some sort of 'celebrity' church or mega church started to said okay to tattoo. Their justification are based on 'whatever you are doing, do it for Christ'.
Since our bodies are holy temples , then why doesn't anybody preach against obesity and disgustingly looking flabby, overweight fat people everywhere?? a tattoo will never give you a heart attack, or a stroke, and diabetes like the processed junk food that surrounds us!

Tattoos that glorify Christ are not sinful, and the passage in Leviticus is one of the most misinterpreted in the Bible. If it’s not glorifying something other than Christ and/or the Father, it’s ok. Just like how eating shellfish, wearing mixed fabrics, and trimming your beard/hair is not a sin. Context people, it goes a long way.
