This boss fight was pure trash. Unbelievable.
npcs were cool but those red areas of 1 hit kill were bullshit wish they were deleted from the game
@@thewhitewolf58 for me they were. i deleted them along with the game after trying this boss and dying to bullshit arbitrary instakills for one too many times
@@GraveUypo my solution was running around the area constantly with one of those slow but high damage guns. It was the only way I won.
this part ruined a pretty good game
for me too. Yesterday and today I fight last fight for four hours each day. I was either killed by 1st wave of 2nd by troopers. If only there was a checkpoint between those waves, bc everytime I die: Loading, replenish ammo, unfreeze Will, LOADING AGAIN, fight and die over and over. Sometime I died even inside a sphere that should protect me. Those one hit kills made furious and hopeless. My best was dying just before killing one last heavy trooper, who killed me like a bug. I was determined upon this very last point in this game. 41/42 achievments done with ease thanks to @Maka91Productions
. Uninstall and let it go. I will never play this game again.
No freakin' kidding. I've died to Serene's stupid nukes after finishing the second wave of monarch soldiers like 15 times now

Real talk. I died like 7-8 times total and twice before I even knew wtf was killing me. No context, no explanation. Just ridiculous. Terrible non climax ending of an overall pretty great and underrated game imo. The final boss is complete trash.
I'm fine with the difficulty, I really am, but what makes this fight a total frustrating, mess of a boss battle is the cut scenes and loading times. If something is going to take multiple tries, I'm fine with, but if you're going to make me sit around for 20 seconds each time, that sucks.
This was terrible as a final fight Remedy. Please never do this again in the future. I'd have preferred a checkpoint right before the fight, or even press X to save the world.
I enjoyed the fight, and its lack of overtly highlighting objectives but the placement of that last checkpoint was really bizarre and frustrating. Bizarre because throughout the game, on hard, I felt happy with the check pointing and then suddenly there was a checkpoint right before a cut scene right before a boss battle, and frustrating because it meant waiting/loading every time I died. Very odd decision (though each game seems obligated to have a dickish checkpoint, I'll admit).
Other than that: top boss battle.
the game had the same problem earlier the first time you fight the heavy guy with the shotgun you have to get behind to kill.
i agree and i say this about alot of games ok fine challenge me with bs but dont make me wait through a long loading screen or watch a cutscene again ..... this game has you load just to respawn ok fine thats normal but atleast start me at the fight again but nooo you have to walk over to will and see the cutscene and sure you can skip it but wtf you got to go through double fucking loading screens just to do the fight again ..... now some might say im a extremist for what im about to say or say im just mad talking shit but im not im dead serious so here it goes .... whoever thought you should have to go through double loading screens to fight the boss again knows nothing about videogames and should be fired and never allowed to work on a game again cause hes the stupidest person to ever work on a game ... so yes whoever made that decision should be fired i dont care if he has 5 children to feed he can go get another job we do not need that moron working on games
Yeah the loading times in this game were horrible. I only died 3 times in the final battle but it took forever because of the loading times.
probably why MS didn't green light QB2. Not only last fight but many minor ones also had cutscene inserted before the fight. Also what's with loading times in this day and age couldn't they have optimized this POS last fight at least?

The games was pretty easy on hard, the waives are so easy to kill but the "red shit" that kills you immediately plus the goddamn loading times every goddamn time I left the shit unfinished. The prob is the you never know when to run due everything is RED. Fuck this game. I have nothing to prove.
His second blast gets me everytime. Anywhere i go i die. Its getting annoying now
Hold R1 and just run away from the red blast and keep running, defeat the wave of enemies, rinse and repeat then shoot Serene

I was stuck on this boss battle for so long but I finally completed it!! These tips were very helpful, thank you!
i couldn't do it on hard, so i did it on middle and missed out the achievement of course. then in the credits the first song was like "i want it all but cant get it now" while i was looking sadly through my achievement list
I am losing all the time and i am bored waiting those huge loading times. So i watched your walkthrough as i am not patient to search myself how to beat him. Thanks for the tips.
My tips:
1) Use the pistol up-close
2) I forget the name of the move, but press B next to an enemy to freeze them still. Then, walk behind them, and unload on their backpack.
3) Keep moving around the pool. You want to keep aware of the outer most circle (directly around the pool), the inner circle for movement (the stair ways and ramps leading in and out of the pool), and never forget about that one lone hallway in the back left corner of the big room (great escape path for panic).
4) Save your LB moves for evasion of the Red Blasts. These killed me more often than the actual enemies. So, just have a mental reflex prepared so that whenever you just slowed down to kill a guy or two, and then you start seeing red on the ground, just hold LB and sprint to safety.
I actually just time stop paul and shoot him in mid boss fight. It explode, paul is dead, his model freezed, and the game softlock itself in boss fight
That red glow is confusing as fuck...im running and not sure whats gonna explode where...a great game ruined in the finale...im so mad im sweating and had to quit before i destroy my controller by throwing it in the tv
I had the cinematic sequence each time I die and had to load, I cant even skip it, skipping takes equal load time

failed 10 times. then i just keep running in circle. pauls laser beam killed every enemy. just use fast run skill passing enemy when paul srarts attaking. sure u can kill some of the easy one with the automatic shotgun
This game feels like a bad fine dining restaurant. Presentation is top notch but the actual food is dry as fuck.

Damn! What is this AoE 1 hit kill bullshit? If I wouldn't have to go through Wave 1 every time I fuck up this wouldn't be nearly as annoying. Loved the game but I this is horrible.
Exactly. Replaying the entire fight, plus the one hit ground explosions every few seconds, plus enemies that remove your powers, plus guns that do fuck all equals zero fun.
I just beat Dark Souls 3 and I've already retried this fight more times than any fight in that game.

What helped me a lot was the full-auto shotgun (it's on/behind one of the wooden boards in the pool) just save your running ability for whenever you see the one hit attacks and dash toward an enemy shotgun him and move away if you're not save.

great tips I'm really enjoying this game but this boss battle is a bitch!!!
Personally recommend just using the auto shotgun NOT the semi auto shotgun. The auto shotgun rips enemies with a few or if lucky one good close up shot. With the one tank enemy on the second rave that burst through the main door speed around him and shoot him a few times in the back, auto shotgun works well with him too. Don't stay still too long, keep moving, best to try and stay at the back of the pool for most of the fight. The small blasts I found to be the tricky part, simply if your character glows red MOVE, if you see a orange/red ball MOVE. And also found its best to stay away from the middle section (pool where the original time machine once stood.) It's open ground, best to stay mostly towards the back and loop from one side to the other drawing enemies towards you, again try using the auto shotgun. It's located on some planks of wood in the middle underneath near the platform is leading to the time machine.

Yeah. I've been stuck here for a few weeks. I keep going off and playing other games and when I come back, I've forgotten all the moves. I'm gonna give it a few more days and if I can't complete the game, I'm out. I need the drive space for new games.
My stategy, it works, just did it.
Before unfreezing Will, grab the full-auto shotgun in the pool, near a pile of wood. Do the Will thing and then wait for the Monarch troops to spawn.
Use time rush to rush to the guy far, but directly, infront of you and melee him. Hide behind the cover with the ammo backpack and kill the remaining 3 with the Time Dodge focus. (Dodge behind them, use focus, shotgun the fuck out of them)
Serene does his red dome of wtf, evade this and go to the hallway at the back of the pool.
Hide there, and stand in the front enterance of it. The AI will most of the time follow the same path so you will first see a regular guy. Kill him and wait for the Chronon dampener dude with his regular buddy. Move back a little and Time Blast them. The regular dude will die and then kill the chronon dampener dude by luring him further into the hallway. When he's halfway exit the back and Time RUSH to the front entrance and shotgun him in the back. Wait for the remaining enemies to go to the hallway or hunt them if there aren't a lot left.
Evade Paul's red dome of wtf (and a lot of death) 3 times and shoot him.
That's it.
Don't forget to bring your tryhard panties either.
When he does that red force thing is a pain in the ass to beat !
Do time rush (hold R1) and do time dodge to get away from the blast
+spidersilva147 there is no R1 button. That's the PS4 controller. Also that is the freeze bubble button on Xbox one controller. Which does nothing. You want to use LB. Run. Even then. You'll probably die cheaply because this boss is fucking retarded and cheap. I've tripled the amount of deaths on this part alone compared to the rest of the game.

spidersilva147 On hard it took me 30 deaths to finally get through it. When a player knows what to do, how to do it, and is used to the controls it should never take that long. I'd barely died up to that point. It's just a broken boss battle. I died several times while in a time rush when time is supposed to be pretty much at a stand still from a shock wave from behind. Numerous times I got no glimmering red indicator that death was imminent. Many times he would dash sidesways into a wall or stop a foot away because an enemy was near. Turning off auto aim and power aim did nothing to correct this. It's just a plain badly designed boss fight. Epic game though.

Thank you for this video. I tried for like a solid hour + last night and couldn't get it, and I tried again this morning with the same results. I thought it was just one bomb after the 2nd wave, and never realized it was 3. Your tip to hangout in the back of the pool and then run back and forth is what finally got me through. Thank you man.....I wish the ending wasn't such a pain, but still. Really good game. Too bad it will never see a sequel.
For me the problem isnt the enemies its dodging serene insta kill i cant seem to get away from the blast on the second phase
After 30 try, i put the setting to auto aim and use the carbine weapon and shoot enemy across the room. Got it on 2nd try with that.
The way I was able to do it for the first wave was to speed-rush them and pump them with two shots of the full auto shotgun as they were stunned. The second round was more brutal. I mixed using time bubbles as a way to shoot the big guy. Make sure to stay away from him, because if he touches you with his dampener, it'll remove all your powers for about a 20 seconds or so, which makes it difficult to dodge Serene's weird grenade blasts. I used the tactical smg, and full-loaded shotgun for the second round. Constantly moving worked, but sometimes it worked to be in a specific corner and just wait for Serene's grenade to be placed so I can dodge and spray bullets in the enemies, and then rinse and repeat.

Nice. I used timeline with all upgrades thanks to your guidelines and it was a breeze up until this part. But finding new ways to massacre those dudes with suits 1st.

It's not your fault or anything but this boss fight is WAY too hard. Even the ambush scenes and the parts with more difficult enemies are doable. (Yes, you throw your controller around when those Chronon speed guys attack you for the first time!) but everything else is a cake walk until you get this asshole on hard.
This was fucking ridiculous but I am VERY happy this achievements do stack so I can skip this fuck heap of shit for now!

yea that was a tough fight but i did the shoot gun smg for my guns after the first battle i rant to th door used rb and shild ability then shoot the gunner in the back and rand down to the middle of the pull and killed things slowly not to die by the pulses

Just finished this in hard difficulty without any upgrades ...took almost 25trys but still got through it ...I think the problem is it's not very well explained what to do in the fight ...i understood what to do after I died like 15 times ...when you understand the mechanism then it gets pretty easy
I was mainly having a problem finding Serene…Hopefully this explains why the red ball is not showing him where he was originally standing on the scaffolding…I have only seen two videos on this boss fight I’ve watch the other one twice now but the other didn’t show Serene above William…Been getting frustrated like when I played Halo so many years ago and for like a week could not figure out how a dude with a laser sword just kept leaping out and killing me until I accidentally backed up and at an angle and realized how to beat that sequence…I am playing on hard and thought this was a glitch like Serene’s NPC just disappeared because of broken programming…If this video helps me…You will get mad “big ups”

I played the game on normal, but it's the same thing and I never got hit on normal. I just used the little hallway to the right as a "base" and saved my time dodge until the main guy was going to use his bomb - the enemies were all pretty basic.

I used timeline to restart the game, to play on hard from the beginning. Do I get the achievement when killing Paul or do you have to use New game to get the achievement?

I beat this 2nd try. This is not even remotely hard as long as you keep running and time dashing.

I had shitty weapons also, but, using melee will reduce the enemy deaths required to shoot serene, then use slow time when the orange mass is expanding.
if I complete the missions in Hard difficulty, out of order, can I still get the achievment?

What’s the point of adding time stop in the game , if they cant be used on enemies and also in some missions it is hard to find the reload bag as well , these are some of the minor gameplay mechanics issues which ruined the experience of the story
They can be used on enemies, there are just certain ones that are resistant. Have you not played the game at all?

ALTERNATE BETTER STRATEGY:
1)As soon as the battle starts turn around and drop down behind will, head straight up the ramp and through a door into a little hallway.
2)Kill the Monarch Soldiers in here as it allows you to funnel them 1 by 1 and not get shot by the other adds.
3)Once they are dead Serene will use his large blast, to avoid this simply just run to the back behind him (near the entrance to your alleyway, there is an ammo backpack in the middle outside) Shoot Serene to start the next phase.
4)Run back to your corridor for the next phase and this is where it gets tricky, you kill them 1 by 1 still but now you have to dodge Serenes smaller blasts, its pretty easy just hold LB to Time Rush back and forth in the hallway killing adds as needed.
5)Once they are dead you now have to simply run to the back to avoid the large blasts again as Serene will be protected by a Time Shield, just keep dodging these, I think a total a 3 and then his shield will drop, you shoot him and CONGRATS, you beat the game.
+Brandon Lee it definitely doesn't. You get hit by the red energy attacks inside that hallway
I know this is late but this strategy DOES work. You just have to position yourself where the enemy can't shoot you and use the time shield to heal if you see Paul use his red energy attack. The enemies are usually not aggressive. The energy attack is NOT a one-hit kill.
You can only die if you get double-tapped by a bullet and Paul, which is dealt with by using the technique above. This took me 3 tries. Could have been better but I didn't know how to handle enemies in that area the first 2 times.

I absolutely hated this piece of turd .. since I'm a huge fan of Alan Wake (1500G), this garbage was probably the biggest letdown of the last ten years.. it took them an eternity to make.. and ended up with a shitfest... everything about this game is complete and utter trash!! 2/10

Man, believe or not, in the first time, doing the bad choices, I got just 4 tries to beat Serene. When I did the good choices, I had to replay some chapters to get 100%. The trophy didn't come. So I realized that I had to beat serene again, and I did. In the first time. LOL. Best gameplay ever. The best part was when the trophy came up 🤯😆😭
