- We headed to Tagaytay for a little day trip and we found some crazy good FILIPINO FOOD at the Mahogany Beef Market and Bulalohan. We tried different Filipino fruits for the first time and they were absolutely delicious (give it a try!). We still have to learn a lot when it comes to Filipino Foods and this Food Market in Tagaytay was quite a nice experience for us. The highlight of the Mahogany Market was the Bulalohan area where you can find plenty of Filipino Foods like Kare Kare, Tawilis and Bulalo. This is the perfect spot to mingle with some local Filipinos.

Tried Mahogany Market on a rainy evening last year. My first time, and I didn't know yet that you can just pick on the bananas on each table and eat your heart out. The staff told us about it and even handed me a plastic bag to pick on some more to take home. 😍
Best place to buy fresh produce.
Go to People's Parks or Palace in the Sky. You will enjoy the view. God bless

I've been to that same Bulalohan in Tagaytay. Love bulalo especially when the weather is chilly.
ps. Try Tawilis. It is a fish (sardines) that can only be found in Taal Lake, the lake you see from Tagaytay.

I frequent Tagaytay to buy fruits especially the ones that are rare to.find nowadays like Mabolo and Duhat. I enjoy going there as usual.

Welcome! It is my province.
The types of bananas are:
Señorita -------- small size, yellow peel/ rind
Lacatan ---------- small to medium, rosy peel/rind
Platano-----------long yellowish rind /Plantain
Cassava ---------thick, wide,short, yellowish to rosy rind/peel when ripe
All of them start green when young & not ripe yet. Each type has its own unique taste.
Yup Sonyas Garden...you gonna love it
ALSO, soil in PH are so rich in nutrients that almost all the produce sold are organically grown and grown locally. here in the US, we think we live better lives but we really dont when it comes to a stress free life and better food. I eat better, i feel better and happier when I'm in PH. In the US, we eat junk food and eating heathy organic food is a luxury, while in PH, eating healthy is the norm and junk food is THE luxury.
Been to Tagaytay several times . Right now I.m watching from Dallas, Texas USA. We love the bulalo in Tagaytay. Once I went home to the Philippines and drove to Tagaytay with the family. Love the flavor of the bulalo. It' taste so good. Good luck Neely and Mike on your food hunting. Take care always.

Now that Tagaytay is currently not available tourist can choose to go to Antipolo City or Tanay in Rizal which has equally breathtaking views and located in high altitude as well.

We frequent tagaytay whenever we feel like eating bulalo especially on rainy seasons, we're lucky enough to live just an hour drive there. Very nice place to relax.
I missed u guys! When eating Bulalo, it's a must that you mix calamansi, patis (fish sauce) and chili in a saucer plate as condiment. Ain't just complete w/o it.
Tagaytay City will bounce back after the Taals ravaging ashfall. And it is going to be more beautiful and interesting.

Awww... sad that we didnt get to see you there. ☹ we were also there there last week. Hopefully next time. Tagaytay is just 45 mins drive from our home. We always go there to buy beef meat because the quality of beef is good aside from being inexpensive. On top of that, we get to enjoy the cozy weather of Tagaytay and visit the pink sister convent (and eat the very delicious puto bumbong and bibingka beside the pink sister with white gate just after the exit gate of pink sister).👌

I have been there for last year on my vacation. The prices there is affordable same taste with the fancy restaurants outside tagaytay and more variety and fast serving. Miss 🇵🇭 so much. Thanks for the nice video. Take care always guys.

That brown fruit that you liked is called chico. One of my fave fruits. Try Ridge park for bulalo. It has a beautiful view of the Taal volcano. Nelly you should have bought a calamansi plant. It is easy to grow and you get fresh calamansi all the time.

I want to comment about the prices in Legaspi village vs. a wet market anywhere. If you haven’t noticed yet BGC, Legaspi village or Makati are areas for the upper strata of the population therefore there prices in these areas are also high. Wet markets are typical lower because they are for the masses. But beef in Tagaytay and Batangas are cheaper too compared to other wet markets. Bulalo is so good any day but exceptionally good in cold weather 😋 Now you made me crave for it lol 🍽❤️❤️❤️

I missed Mahogany Marker for several years now, its just an hour drive only from we live before we moved abroad. Try to visit the Pink Sisters Convent in Tagaytay so you will experience listening to the angelic voices of nuns.

The one that you ask if that's sweet that green fruit with spikes is called guyabano. It's a sweet/sour fruit thats full of vitimins. And it also helps fight cancer.

Guyabano in English is Soursop fruit. That fruit is a super fruit which can cure cancer. Also Guyabano dry leaves is also used for tea to cure cancer!
I frequent tagaytay and been to mahogany market a few times. Bulalo & crispy tawilis is the specialty in tagaytay.
3:08 Those are longan. Lanzones skin has a yellowish color while longan skin is more on the brown side. It tastes quite like a lychee!
Nelly and Mike that ubud from the coconut you can eat them raw and very tasty and healthy..we used to eat them on way the to school yummy.delicious..

We were just there from December 29 to January 1, we also bought fruits and bulalo at the Mahogany Market. You can also visit Museo Orlina, Picnic Grove, People's Park in the Sky, Sky Ranch, Breakfast at Antonio's, Calaruega and Sonya's Garden. Enjoy your Tagaytay trip!

Tagaytay is also the summer capital of the philippines just like like baguio.. The weather is always colder.. Thats why many people visit the place to escape the hot summertime..
Its always nice to eat bulalo in mahogany because the meat is fresh coz its near the market. And its always nice to buy vegetables and fruits in the market coz its way to cheaper than supermarket malls.
Already visited that place many times whenever we go to tagaytay and we usually eat bulalo there...known for affordable bulalo soup.

Beef used to cook bulalo from all over Tagaytay and sorrounding towns are coming from that market. Beef are always fresh and cheap there plus fruits and vegetables.

The dried fish next to the dried anchovies in sealed plastic bag is my favorite dried fish to buy in tagaytay it's like danggit not too salty, best when dipped in vinegar with a little bit of sugar, patis, onion and garlic.. 😃
