3.5 doesn't cycle well in any gun
Man I recently picked up a new Retay Masai Mari and it eats everything I’ve fed it. But to be honest I have only put prob couple hundred 31/2” steel through it but it had zero hiccups. Those were the Rio Royal blue steel # 4s. Pretty impressed with it.
Nah m3500 never ever had a problem with m.5 put a lot of 3.5 through it and never had a issue

I've has enough malfunctions while hunting with semi-autos that I just rock a pump action. Cheaper gun so i don't feel as worried about abusing it or accidentally losing it off a boat, simple to tear down and clean in the field if it gets full of mud, and it will cycle any load 100% of the time.
That being said, I'm thinking of trying a light 20 ga semi-auto for dove/teal
No Benelli SBEs? If we made a list of what we hunt with, we're in Kansas, it would be SBE2, SBE2, SBE3 and a dumb Browning A5 Wicked Wing. The A5 is my dad's, and it might be his fault, but he's had a lot of problems with it.
The Retay & Stoeger run the same way the Benellis do...inertia. IMHO THATS the way to go is inertia driven. The action itself will break loose if it freezes up.

Man I love my Masai Mara!! It feels good and so far has ran all ammo I have put through it. I recommend, but I’m just an old recently retired fireman. Lol

A Retay 20 gauge with TSS 3 inch loads is the equal of a 12 gauge shooting lead 3 inch or 3.5 inch loads. A true all around shotgun for all seasons.
