      Maybe you not as good a gourmet cook as I am. Lol!! No. Seriously, when you cannot get that other 11 pounds off and you gain back 10 for reasons you can't understand you may feel differently.

    Omgosh when you mention the treats. I've stayed on this diet because of the treats. I literally have to have a little treat everyday or every second day. But I don't feel gross or indulgent. Treats are the thing that kept me on for over a year with keto.

    I relate to her so much, I lived poorly for my first 31 years, very very poorly, and now Im a dietetics major and in the best shape of my life, having lost 85 lbs and gained lean mass and I just love life now. I appreciate that she shared those personal things! The drive I have now because of that background is so so so strong.

    First time I have seen you here on youtube! Have been doing Keto for about 6 months and loving it. Have to comment because I've never come across another person with a body just like mine...I'm 5' and 87 lbs, and while a Dr. recently saw me as underweight, I know that it is right for my frame and I have never felt better. I have maintained this weight with Keto by keeping my good fats up. Early on you mentioned something about not doing flax..(meal)...and I was wondering why as I finally was able to perfect a 'no carb' (or so it claims to be) bread. Heavy in texture, wonderful flavor and very easy to make. So very sad if it will hurt me in some way. Thank you for any response and I loved this youtube! Thank you!

    Love all these ideas.
    If only, just sometimes, the recipes could be in "English"? We're divided by a common language. We call things different names; we have different reference points. And some ingredients just aren't available in the UK (at least, not outside of big city speciality stores).
    Otherwise, Maria is inspirational. So much enthusiasm....contagious.

      I'm new to this, Peter - are there no UK people promoting keto , writing the books, making the videos? I agree, sometimes , for all the energy and enthusiasm, here, which I love, I would give a lot for some English (or make that British) pragmatism!

      High in ALA, which is the precursor for real omega-3s. There’s only about 0% to 5% conversion rate for the majority of people. So 100mg of ALA will only be 5mg of real DHA or EPA if you’re lucky

    What you are describing is more Atkins than keto. Nothing wrong with that, still low carbs, but proteins on keto should be around 15-20% max.

    • @rachealtreloar6230
      @rachealtreloar6230 3 роки тому

      I understand what you are saying. Dr Berg (another keto guru) has a bit of an explanation on this and why you don’t eat as much protein as Atkins. It can actually spike insulin if you have too much which is what you want to avoid. Check out his starting keto and he will explain 🌈

    Now only if I can at least cut down my beer, I think this keto or low carb stuff would be pretty doable.
    Unlike the deprivation I found on Vegan. I just love my steaks, salmon and chicken, butter and cream. 😉

      Making money is not intrinsically a bad thing....it is the quality of the information I look to, and my job to see if the message suits my individual needs. Seems natural to want to 'spread the word' and why should it be free to the public? I can’t determine the ethics so I go by content, read a lot, compare and make an informed choice.

    Where are the long-term study for the keto diet? Where are the centenarians that follow this diet? This diet is so young, it's quite dangerous to even call it healthful. The majority of the centenarians, do not follow anything close to this diet. There's no conclusive evidence that we as humans ever followed such a diet. But the keto craze continues.

    • @WireHedd
      @WireHedd 6 років тому +3

      Human species evolved on meat and fat. Grains a recent intro from the agrarian era. Mega sugar in all foods from the supermarket very new. I remember one fat kid at school when I was growing up. Now there are fat little people everywhere... sugar and fat.

    • @patriciawalters6778
      @patriciawalters6778 5 років тому +2

      Joe Woo, there will never be any determinative long term randomized controlled trials for diet simply because its unethical to lock people up and control everything they eat for 6 months! Even if they volunteered, youd have to let them out if they wanted out. Also, to PROVE one diet better than another youd have to feed both diets and see if one group got sicker than the other! Totally unethical! The best we have is anecdotal and epidemiological evidence. Which shows that some people do better on animal based diets.
