There's no better compliment to a musician you played with than to learn THEIR instrument and to be totally inspired to play it like they do it, in their style and with their sound...
C'est un sketch ce mec je l'écoutais dans ma jeunesse c'était le meilleur guitariste de sa génération. La maintenant c'est le meilleur bassiste de sa génération le gars c'est tout faire ahahah longue vie à lui
I was fortunate enough to see Bireli in the mid eighties around 86 I think, when he was in Nottingham with Babik Reinhardt and Diz Disley, my father played Double Bass for the gig, an amazing and enjoyable evening.
Bireli is the "musicman". He can play everything, also your wcnet cover. Listen to "blue eyes", his tribute to Sinatra. A perfect creation in which he also sings.
Finally a decent advanced bass improvisation series 🫡. I wish there were more solo videos and favourite licks rather than bass lines as advanced players already know how to form and play basslines
Thanks for your comment . It’s much harder to run a business for advanced musicians like I do for DC Music School. The market is so much smaller, and sometimes I get hate from beginners for making “advanced” courses. But I’m also happy that some fairly famous professional musicians are using my site
The original "Bass of Doom" was stolen when Jaco was playing basketball and much later bought by Robert Trujilio who gave it back to the Pastorius family
@@mattiasgarvello185 he didnt give it back. He refused to relinquish ownership and just let them "borrow" it... Kinda BS if you ask me. If him tracking down that bass was truly about finding it for the family, he would relinquish ownership regardless of what Felix said. Felix didnt want Robert to relinquish it, because Felix is too nice and felt bad, but, its the right thing to do. If Felix wants it to be played and appreciated by other people, fine, but let it be under his Family's ownership. Jaco would want his family to have his possessions.

Man that time playing with Jacko really paid off he's like a sponge he's absorbed some of the great styles
I was thinking exactly the same thing.
A man of true substance, whose impact will be remembered throughout history🙏
Bireli for President! He’s just & simply the Best! 🙂
I never expected him to be so great at bass as well! Happy birthday Biréli.
This is just amazing and outstanding ❤🎉musicianship and versatility

Same goes for licks really. I think it is important to always work on vocabulary. Walking and Soloing.

Master level
Bireli's bounce
Excellent 🔥
what a sound .... is that the bass of doom ? or is it just a normal jaco reissue?
The first 12 could be a theme
Does the series include both the full and accurate transcriptions, or is are they more 'directional' in content? Thanks.
Is that a bass that actually belonged to Jaco? I know they worked together in the ‘80s.

А ноты, ноты не далите ли списать? Могёт - умеет.
Can you play this solo? Forget writing the notes....

He's not playing bass. He's playing guitar on bass.
Sounds like a bass to me
Lol
