- The best way to play faster is to practise very slow with the metronome.
Just begin with a few measures and play faster step-by-step. Write down the metronome number so you can see your progression. Use always the same fingering and try to make no mistakes.

Thank you so much for demonstrating slowly these Alfred pieces. You have been very helpful to me for learning the correct timing. I am curious about C chord intro. I think I have the same book cited in your video description but mine only has two bars of C chord intro but you played four bars. Not a big thing but kind of throws me off when I am following your playing note for note.
There's a repeating sign after 2 bars. So you have to play the first two measures again.

I am going through the Level 2 book and have learned most recently, with your guidance, Loch Lomond. I dabble in the Greatest Hits book once in a while just for fun.
