NEW! Awesome constructive feedback from the ele discord addressed to the wow developers: www.stormearthandlava.com/open-letter-from-the-earthshrine-elemental-mods-mvps-to-the-class-devs/
NOGS Totem mastery coming to enhancement is literally why i started playing my shaman again to get ready for BFA, i ****** HATE not having a 4 totem ability. i don't feel like a shaman unless i have some ability to drop down 4 totems. i don't care if the totems are a major or minor part of a shaman's build, but i want them and i HATED when they were removed.
Was so ready to bench my shaman after seeing a fistful of naysayer vids. Thanks for being glass half full and encouraging me to continue to roll a class that is really fun to play after maining a Pally for 10 years. Well done.
Gotta admit - best preview I´ve seen so far. I was torn between assa rogue and enhancement shaman before, but thanks to your vid I´ve made my decision. Enhancement looks so damn nice I just have to play it. Thanks m8!
Hey man your videos are great, keep up the great work and im sure youll be a big hitter youtuber in no time. Also I would love to see this type of video for a Paladin. Subscribed!
Thanks man , I was really on the fence whether I needed to switch at all . I just have to get better and see all my opportunities. Great vids keep ‘em coming. Thanks
Just happened to be looking around UA-cam tonight in bed and happened to search up how shamans were doing. This video was exactly what I wanted to see. Thanks a bunch, you earned the sub. You're pretty comical.
This video is AMAZING. Well put together. Please make more content. I Believe you will go far brother!! You got me thinking about maining a shaman now. I just like how they a variety of play styles. Oh I Totally SUBBED!!
Great video man! You've convinced me to finally give Shaman a try, and I'm really excited about it now :) Hoping to find more class vids like this on your channel!
Great review! The shamen was the first character I ever played, and I always keep going back to it because they are so fun! I recommend that everyone try them at least once.
first video I've seen of yours. Sick!!!!!!! I have been playing on and off since vanilla and infrequently since WoTLK, but I always end up watching someone's videos on UA-cam. cool video, wasn't bored at all, didn't overtalk or explain. sometimes that can make the video really boring. I don't even play legion (not really) and I sat content listening to what you have had to say. !!!
Love the video! Don't even play a Shaman... yet, but I loved the commentary and lots of good info on where the spec stands currently! Consider me subscribed!
Hey buddy, just thinking of finally switching from my main dk to a shammy and you just made it way easier. Im smashing those keys on both dps specs and its so much fun just like u said. And I love resto, that's one of my fav healers, now definitely favorite after MW changes :) so just keep it up, this is very good quality video, professional and fun and full of content.
I love my shaman main and was scared about the changes given to them but this video has helped me see it a different way. :) Thank you very much man. Great video. Subscribed
Stacking Igneous Potential only stacks the damage portion. Lava Surge is only set to 20% chance, not getting added proc chances. There were multiple other errors, too.
you definitly deserve more subs dont know why youtube suggested me this since i dont play wow but it was informative and entertaining at the same time keep that going cheers
Damn dude, you convinced me to play Shaman and i have never leveled the class past 30lv! xD Looking forward to the other classes guides/states videos! (btw, subbed)
Since WOTLK released (not 10 years straight tho, had some monthly breaks in between :P). But yeah, Shaman, Priest, Monk, never leveled them beyond 30. (i guess the playstyle didn't "click" with me). What about you? Any class you haven't maxed?
Very in depth and you actually did your playing. No surface level information riddled with hate. Thank you for the deep dive! please keep making content!
Thanks for this video man, I can tell you really love shamans and it is good to get a video that shows a true shaman player's excitement for the upcoming expansion. This has made my decision on what to main come BfA very difficult haha!
I actually enjoyed Enhancement when I played it on the beta. Numbers could use a bit of tuning, but I try and keep numbers out of judging pre-expansion content stuff because those are always in flux. Core rotation felt fine, there's at least one solid talent spec, War Mode talents gave you some good options, lots of utility. I didn't play the other two specs (because I honestly really like Enhancement), but Enhancement honestly won me over to the point that it'll likely be my melee main (since my "true" main is a Hunter). I wasn't even aware people were shitting on Shaman until your video came up in the recommended, so it came as a surprise.
I wanted to pick up shaman for a while now and especially love the class fantasy of enhancement. Was kinda bumbet out when I heard that its supposedly bad, but this video helped a lot! I'll still probably go shaman for BFA, thanks! :D
Thank you! :) I honestly didn't want it to come across as clickbait, this was supposed to be a video I showed to my guild for lols. Had no idea it would reach 40k + views :O
Thanks for this! My main was Warrior but I also am levelling an enhancement shaman, to be honest, I felt it’s damage is a lot meaty, I couldn’t tell how it feels at level 120 but so far, I am really surprised how powerful enhancement is so far, the survival, the damage, can’t wait to try it in pvp too!
ddoublevee have fun vs classes that can stun, try to pop astral shift before their burst since you can’t use it while stunned anymore. You’ll never beat BM hunter/healer so might as well go resto/BM while it’s still unbeatable by most comps
I was on the fence and the I actually sat down and practiced the current feel of the Shaman and honestly... I still enjoy it. And that was before I see this video. I feel like I wanna experiment or just set things up. I do not mind bringing utility even if it can be done by someone else. Both damage specs, for me, are awesome to play because of visuals and sounds. That's enough for me to be sold on a class that isn't a Warlock right now. On Enhancement... and Elemental to a degree, it's getting into the rhythm... The Elementrance (I'm gonna copyright it). That is all I need, really. I can't comment on Resto because I've yet to figure things out. Yes, I've heard bad things regarding the Shaman but even after trying the Warrior and the Death Knight, I really can't get into it. I do not get that excitement that the Shaman already provides for me. I'm gonna keep this video as a reminder of my choice as a main... but as I said, I wanted to play this class again before I watch the video.
Great Content! :) Liked & Subbed. Constructive Critiscism: The small jokes about meatballs and such are fun! But don't overuse them and they will get boring! The ammount of jokes of this kind of fashion was great fun for the first 50% of the video, you could have spread them out over the course of the entire video instead :) But ofcourse, that's just my opinion!
Really enjoyed shaman in Legion, had many ways to play and they were all fun to me and the animations and spell effects all felt great and that looks to have not changed. However, if gust of wind is gone without a suitable replacement then so am I, that boost of movement was crucial. Do we now have less burst movement speed than Dks and Locks? May go with Boomie, looks rather fun and has great utility like the shaman.
If there are rare situations we need burst movement we still have wind rush totem :) boomy is an excellent choice in my opinion, new exclipse has a nice flow single target and you still do crazy things in aoe m+ :)
Thank you! I boosted a shaman in legion and all I've heard is "you're getting screwed next expansion" but I love it - I much prefer resto shaman to holy pala because it's just far far more interesting.
You got a sub in me... Ty for fighting in the cause of shammies being good, i didn't even know that crash lightning granted all those procs! (explains why i lost so much dps when it left my rotation)
Wow... watching this on 7/20 and a LOT has been changed in the past two weeks... Many of the talents came out differently oin 8.0 (talking about Elemental). What does that say about the development cycle... Sounds like they are wrapping up everything in haste. Anyhow. I'm gonna play Elem shaman in BfA, I hope it turns out well :) Thanks for the vid!
I love how you're so much more positive about things. You make great points, and are a welcome counter to the doom and gloom so common on the class discord.
Glad there is also very positive and fun changes. This actually made me interested in trying enhancement. Loved the multiple spec possibilities. Will you ever make a breakdown for paladin? I'm still hoping for an offensive shockadin somewhere in the holytree.
Only just renewed for BFA last week after taking a break for about a year. I’ve been a life long enhancement shaman..... I’m loving the new play style of enhancement! Really don’t see what all the fuss every one is going on about!
Hi mate, nice video! However it seemed that a couple of times, the ability or icon you show on screen does not match what you are explaining. This made it a bit confusing, but nevertheless I really liked how you went over the different builds. Cheers.
Thanks for the feedback! Yeah I noticed that and tried to improve on my most recent mage video, hopefully I don't repeat the same mistake in the future :)
Well done, Nogs! You used your video to actually argue a point (better than most content makers on YT) and talked about the different talent build options with the following gameplay feel. I agree with your views and did some time ago decide to main shaman myself because of their many situational abilities.
There is a BIG difference between spec discord admins + some of the best shamans in the world crying out and cry babies on the forum! For both shaman dps specs and shadow priest there are very, very well written concerns that blizz got way before beta even started! The specs are not awesome to play at all: -Enh has either zero resource management or not enough (due to SS having no cost when it procs or major starving if you use LL because the cost got increased and the max maelstrom is down to 100 from 150) -SS was changed to nature dmg and is now reverded again (why? we asked for that change for 4+ years) -the "new" DR in ghost wolf is absolutely useless because you need to sit in wolf form for 5sec (doing zero dmg) to get a tiny 20% reduction (warrior has a no CD 20% permanent dmg reduction in def stance btw) -ALL relevant talents are pure RNG on Enh now, everything is RNG+dmg (lighting shield, forceful winds, hot hand those are the most important dps talents besides big CD) Yes, you can actually play those specs BUT compared to pretty much every other melee/range spec in the game those specs are strait garbage!
Thankyou for your feedback :) you make some good points! I hope people don't think im talking to the top5% :( but can I chime in on the DR ghost wolf issue. In brh/ eoa/ hov you couldn't really take enhance over 20 without having very high avoid, vers and even externals like fel emitter. Hopefully the one shot damage pattern is reduced in high M+ scaling.. But even if it's not it still puts shamans in a better spot than legion, even if they have to idle in wolf and beg for externals :)
My comment was more for the people that might misinterpret the video a bit^^ The outcry is definetly a bit too much but there are good reasons for it. I don´t exactly know how M+ will work out since we have pretty much zero AoE in relation to other melee specs so the ghost wolf DR might be irrelevant either way. Not enough AoE dmg to get a timer that would insta kill = you won´t see any one shots xD Ghost wolf DR needs to be either instant 10% up to 20% over 2 sec or stay on you outside of wolf for 3-5sec after we stacked it up to be worth anything in my opinion!
With the sundering rework enhance deals a huge chunk of aoe damage that will shoot you up in damage. With CL used on cd, and the steady flow of SS procs now with the increased chance, i have found that my damage stays competitive until my sundering comes back off CD for another huge chunk of damage. With its damage rework sundering is also viable as a ST talent now as well, i'm dealing about 14-17k non crit and I've gotten upwards of 30k on a crit if i have procs going and since i use roll the wolves, I've seen 50k crits with double fire. The only issue is it's positional and bugs out sometimes where it completely whiffs for no dmg even on a well placed pack, and that's something that can be fixed. As far as single target damage, enhance is still one of the very best at it after the SS buff and baked in artifact talents. Also, with the increase to WF procs and SS procs, i have found the pace to be very similar to final patch legion but you are doing more than just spamming SS, and thats awesome to me. I find the spec to more engaging since overcharge is viable now and hits for big damage which allows me to still do damage on movement fights along the increased FT and rockbiter range and the option to spec FT to apply a powerful dot. So now I have sundering to get me working for position with damage that awards a good setup in aoe or just as a great opener in ST, CL baking in the single target artifact trait to funnel mobs hit into increased SS dmg, high powered lightning bolts to fill in when SS is on CD and no proc, rockbiter that can be speced to deal comparable damage to non specced LL along with a talent to grant juicy SS procs, and good ole LL as filler. That's more engaging to me than setting and forgetting fury of air, pressing FT every 12 sec and then fishing with LL and spike every 20 sec for glove procs so i can mash SS 90% of the fight. I also find that maelstrom gen is really fast now and the famine is highly exaggerated. It's for sure a night and day difference than how enhance started at the beginning of legion, that was true famine unless got spontaneous appendages and tha'ts only because it was bugged. As the expansion goes on it will only get better with better gear. All in all, i find most of the complaints i see even to this day are from people complaining that LL hits harder than SS, which tells me they haven't played beta since June 19th when the buffs came. On beta now, enhance is one of the best performing melee specs and more people are playing them. The only issue i really have is still survivability. Granted they have added some stuff, but its highly cumbersome. Spirit wolf isn't viable on competitive group content since it has a ramp up time, natures guardian can be good if it was basically a shaman cheat death, which it did when first implemented but was considered a bug since it was a 45 sec CD. I would be fine with it being the exact same as cheat death with the same CD. ES is great for leveling, but in group content, DR is more valuable. I would prefer them take away the 10% increased healing and make it 10% DR instead, HS already heals for a good amount without it. They also need to just make feral lunge baseline, and take away the crap damage it does anyways. As far as ele is concerned, they broke the spec imo with the FS CD and gimping maelstrom gen.
Can you list me what addons you use during the segment of showing the Argus fight with resto shaman? I like the way your abilities are setup between the two healthbars. That's setup through bartender right?
Thank you - that video would be very much appreciated. I love the layout of your UI and would love to replicate it for different specs such as Ret Paladin.
Good video. Enjoyed. More detail about simple rotations and spell descriptions. Add comparisons to similar builds/rotations from. Other similar class eg with rogue or dk And highlight weaknesses too esp blaring ones eg super low maelstrom generation and boring/simple rotations. Thanks!!
Played enhance all through mop, wod, legion, and on the bfa beta. My issue was never that the playstyle was changed; only that the max maelstrom went from 150 to 100 and lava lash now costs 40. You can no longer pool your resource to burst down priority targets because, even at max maelstrom, you can cast two before you're out. This directly plays against using lava lash to "fish" for stormbringer procs, which was such a huge improvement to the spec that it was made baseline from a tier bonus. Also, just like on the legion beta, maelstrom spends most of its time capped in bfa. It doesn't really feel like a "resource" because unless you dump it all into LL, you'll never be able to spend it all; however, dumping it into LL runs the risk of not having enough to SS when it procs. Overall, it just feels like they took all the improvements to the spec over the course of Legion and threw them out of the window, and the class feels just like it did on the Legion beta.
Agreed I think the maelstrom values will be reworked in 8.1, you gain too much too quickly and spending it feels awkward when you have SS procs up which is most of the time.
yea indeed :) i love ele and enha and i was kinda sad that it's ruined because of the negative videos around. eventhough i didn't even touch the BETA. This video gave me hope that ican still be a proud shaman main! :)
@6:27 Igneous Potential -I'm not sure if they changed it but I don't think the %age stacks. Only the additional bonus damage. so its a bit useless to stack multiple. I believe Lava Shock would be the best stackable trait since the bonus ES damage would be insane
I quit when cata came out I am really wanting to play my shaman again now I started of using enhancement and later of course was healer but when they nerfed the totems I quit.i always played shaman I am not vanilla player but I did love enhancement even after missing the two handed windfury age anyways nice video good luck
Shaman was the first class i played on beta and I loved it. didnt even know it was a bad class until people started making threads and memes. I guess every other class is crazy good if shamans are considered bad
@NOGS for BGA will ele shamans weapons only be fist weapons again? I couldn't stand looking at my character and only seeing a shield an no weapon on my hip! lol
Great vid, I’m gonna be comin back to WoW in BFA after a pretty long break and this video helped me confirm I’m sticking with shaman, keep posting frequently and I could see some major growth to this channel in the future P.S. what is that mog on the thumbnail???
NEW! Awesome constructive feedback from the ele discord addressed to the wow developers: www.stormearthandlava.com/open-letter-from-the-earthshrine-elemental-mods-mvps-to-the-class-devs/

Many people didn't like it on ele, but I didn't mind it. In a 5 min fight refresh it three times not a big deal :)
Was so ready to bench my shaman after seeing a fistful of naysayer vids. Thanks for being glass half full and encouraging me to continue to roll a class that is really fun to play after maining a Pally for 10 years. Well done.
ZxChrono 100% unnecessary reply GG
Hey nice UI can you share it ?
Legend, cheers for the vid mate, makes a refreshing change
Have been so unsure what to play in bfa, your positivity has influenced me atleast.
Shaman it is.
Great content, subbed mate.
Gotta admit - best preview I´ve seen so far. I was torn between assa rogue and enhancement shaman before, but thanks to your vid I´ve made my decision. Enhancement looks so damn nice I just have to play it.
Thanks m8!

Very well-spoken analysis of the class. Appreciate the work you’ve put in here. Anyone reading the comments, this guy is worth a sub.
Great review! The shamen was the first character I ever played, and I always keep going back to it because they are so fun! I recommend that everyone try them at least once.
Loved this video. Loved the wit and humor. Sub'ed. Keep up the great work!
Great video, is great to see a guy who play shaman and know what he is saying in youtube.

Great video, nice to see someone praising the strengths within reason.

Realy enjoyed watching this video. Gives Zappyboy a whole new dimension. Liked the subtle funny's like the wagon :)
man dude i'm totally digging the troll themed armor and weapons. so sick
All I have to say is: Subbed
Thx for the video, can you please tell me, what T-mog you got on your shaman? Thx :)
During legion my shaman kicked ass. the elementals helped out a lot during tight spots. I love that the tremor totem is back again.
yay! positive video for shamans!! Subbed.
I feel attacked because my 3 key broke during Nighthold last year, that being my Lava Burst key. Lmfao.
I've mained my enhancement shaman for about 10-11 years. I'm continuing that trend in BFA and forever. Dosnt matter if they are shit!
Agreed :D! enhancement is too fun!
You got a sub in me... Ty for fighting in the cause of shammies being good, i didn't even know that crash lightning granted all those procs! (explains why i lost so much dps when it left my rotation)
yo what skin do you use for weakauras/tmw? i need a new masque...
Nice video, but what are your thoughts about enhancement in PvP? I've been enh since TBC and I would like to continue.
I don't do enough pvp tbh but they seem like they still have good comps in beast cleave etc

Quality content
good review
I was between ww monk and enh shammy. Now got my answer thanks to you. Also fits muuuuch better to dark iron dwarf.
enh animations on dark iron would be mint!
Roll the Wolves LMFAO....
James Freeman Shut the fuck up bitch, that’s your fuckin problem.
There is a BIG difference between spec discord admins + some of the best shamans in the world crying out and cry babies on the forum!
For both shaman dps specs and shadow priest there are very, very well written concerns that blizz got way before beta even started!
The specs are not awesome to play at all:
-Enh has either zero resource management or not enough (due to SS having no cost when it procs or major starving if you use LL because the cost got increased and the max maelstrom is down to 100 from 150)
-SS was changed to nature dmg and is now reverded again (why? we asked for that change for 4+ years)
-the "new" DR in ghost wolf is absolutely useless because you need to sit in wolf form for 5sec (doing zero dmg) to get a tiny 20% reduction (warrior has a no CD 20% permanent dmg reduction in def stance btw)
-ALL relevant talents are pure RNG on Enh now, everything is RNG+dmg (lighting shield, forceful winds, hot hand those are the most important dps talents besides big CD)
Yes, you can actually play those specs BUT compared to pretty much every other melee/range spec in the game those specs are strait garbage!
My comment was more for the people that might misinterpret the video a bit^^
The outcry is definetly a bit too much but there are good reasons for it.
I don´t exactly know how M+ will work out since we have pretty much zero AoE in relation to other melee specs so the ghost wolf DR might be irrelevant either way. Not enough AoE dmg to get a timer that would insta kill = you won´t see any one shots xD
Ghost wolf DR needs to be either instant 10% up to 20% over 2 sec or stay on you outside of wolf for 3-5sec after we stacked it up to be worth anything in my opinion!
I would love to see it be instant 30% and on a 30 second cooldown, the fact your stuck in ghostwolf is punishment enough.
Oh really? nice!
Very good and funny video good job man
Do you have a guide for that awesome UI setup?
ua-cam.com/video/DKc_vwz7vP0/v-deo.html :)
Thanks! :D
Can you list me what addons you use during the segment of showing the Argus fight with resto shaman? I like the way your abilities are setup between the two healthbars. That's setup through bartender right?
I'm doing a ui/ weak aura video after my mage video but it's basically bartender with a bunch of "tellmewhen/weakauras" and shadowus
Thank you - that video would be very much appreciated. I love the layout of your UI and would love to replicate it for different specs such as Ret Paladin.
Good video. Enjoyed. More detail about simple rotations and spell descriptions. Add comparisons to similar builds/rotations from. Other similar class eg with rogue or dk
And highlight weaknesses too esp blaring ones eg super low maelstrom generation and boring/simple rotations.
This positivity is SO refreshing.
Thanks for the positivity. All I have been able to find is negative. Subbed!
yea indeed :) i love ele and enha and i was kinda sad that it's ruined because of the negative videos around. eventhough i didn't even touch the BETA. This video gave me hope that ican still be a proud shaman main! :)
Crazy how you don't have more subs man! Also very happy to be the 100th subscriber :P
Thanks heaps! it's pretty surreal.. I made the video thinking a few mates and the guild would have a chuckle :)
NOGS keep it up man! I’ll definitely be watching your vids going into BFA. :)
Nice video really enjoyed it. One mistake tho Igneous Potential increases LS to 20% up from 15% and not by 20%.
Wow there's positivity left in this community? wowow... great vid bud.
Shaman was the first class i played on beta and I loved it. didnt even know it was a bad class until people started making threads and memes. I guess every other class is crazy good if shamans are considered bad
@NOGS for BGA will ele shamans weapons only be fist weapons again? I couldn't stand looking at my character and only seeing a shield an no weapon on my hip! lol
I think it's gone back to daggers, staves, 1h mace. Although I could be wrong
Probably going to be my first expac that i get shaman to max first. Also how did you get your spell alert to only show half?
Sorry connor which one? if you could timestamp for me I might be able to help :)
Great vid, I’m gonna be comin back to WoW in BFA after a pretty long break and this video helped me confirm I’m sticking with shaman, keep posting frequently and I could see some major growth to this channel in the future
P.S. what is that mog on the thumbnail???
Thanks Nick! It is just a random piece I got in my mythic cache, it's from antorus the burning throne (last raid in legion) :)
Thank you! And is that we’re you got the purple robes and the head?
yep! I think the rest is from normal
Awesome! TYSM
