- We have too many games!
What is too many you ask? Well, it's not really a number, but more of a volume.
When therer are games on the floor of multiple rooms in your house, you might have too many games.
With so many new games coming in, and a new year beginning, we wanted to take a good hard look on our shelves. Take a look at games we kept after reviewing them, and games that we had decided to keep in Keep or Cull, but with a few months on the shelf, now decided we didn't HAVE to own.
It's a hard balance, but we have maxed out the space we want to use for board games, so some have to go!
Hope you'll enjoy!

I like the talk about Merlin - the real talk is very insightful.
You guys continue to be great inspiration for board gamers! Thanks for encouraging us to be more practical in our hobby/addiction.
Thank you for the kind words :D
Wow there are some good games in that pile! Goes to show how many games you have. Makes sense to make room.
By the way, thank you for not spoiling the story of the Crew. I would not have recovered.
Getting rid of Mind MGMT is a crime 😱😅
I love this game so much 😍
Can we have a video of your games collection please?
We did a series a long time ago, with all the games, but it has changed quite a bit. I am unsure what kind of format would be best for it. Do you have any ideas? :)
This was a nice way of doing it ua-cam.com/video/jtwWPF_KxCo/v-deo.htmlsi=X_v9XJYWhcYC_Puq
I love Feld games, he's probably our favorite designer. Merlin is one of the few that I've never gotten a chance to even try. It's been on my "Want in Trade" list for a long time; hoping to eventually find a trade partner to make that one happen.
He is actually one of my favorites as well, but we had to stop keeping them all forever! I love many of his games, but not all of them, so when we first decided to get rid of one, it was easier to get rid of more!
Wow a lot of games here I haven't heard of 😅 Shows how quickly some games get lost with all the new shiny exciting games coming out!
Happens to me all the time! Especially when looking through older videos, or looking at pictures from older Spiel's. I am thinking "oh, right, that was a game" :P
I just culled 8 games which is pretty good for me since my collection is down to 60 games. I don’t get to play nearly as many games as you guys do, so my collection is smaller, but I keep the same “proud of my collection” in mind.
That is awesome! There is no contest in trying to own many games, so a great collection of around 60 sounds amazing! :D
Looks like a good list of games to get rid of! Meaning none of them would stick around on my shelves either. I haven't played Merlin though, and do have some interest in trying it.
So many games! Good to start the year with a cull :D
Fun Farm!!!! that's the first game I bought for my kids when they were 4 and 2. They chew a lot of the heads and never get to play it as it should, but pretty good memories
I do need to cull some of my kids games, but they don't let me even they don't play that much with them hahaha
Really enjoy your videos
Haha, fun to hear you also had the game, even though you never(?) played it :P Happy to hear you're enjoying what we do! That means a lot :D
Im glad it's not just us immature Americans who have to giggle about Freie Fahrt.
You know you guys could do a great Vaudeville routine. You guys have great give and take. Sunniva gives, Johaness takes!
Haha :P
It feels so good to cull! I had 300 games at one point but I had about 100 in the mechanical room downstairs alone. It was just too much and I wasn't playing most of them as there just isn't enough time. Now I'm down to ~50 so it's almost entirely my absolute favourites. Now I give a game a few plays and if it doesn't click - it gets sold!
It's upsetting getting rid of old favourites or nostalgic games but in the end, having empty space for any new favourites that might come up feels great!
There’s a short grieving period but most of the time i have no regrets getting rid of them. The only one I regretted was Citadels, which I went out and repurchased. They don’t make the 2016 version anymore
I agree! I am happy that we started culling games 6 years ago or so. I haven't really counted, but I know we have gotten rid of at least 700 games since then. I cannot begin to think how our house would have looked with all those games still here!
I just culled 13 today, including TM Ares. For the same reason - if I want to play TM, I'm pulling out the original.
Great job :D
I’ve had more fun with letter jam than I would have expected. It’s still a keeper for me.
Great game, just cannot play/own them all!
Good video 👌 and of course I hsd to watch the videos with Merlin, you made good videos back then also 😊 one thing.. how can you look younger now than 6 years ago!? 😂
Can definitely see why Mind MGMT would be the hardest one to let go from these. I think it's such a great game and I love the production of the deluxe edition. Luckily, I don''t have so many games that I have to make a choice to get rid of it!
It is a super good game an production! It might be one I will miss, but most likely not, with the way we play games, and the games we enjoy the most!
In the US, most of the Unlocks are the three boxes. They got rid of most of the single pack format, though it does seem to be trying to make a resurgence.
That’s interesting. I have a bunch of single unlock games
I didn't know! :)
Oh no! Not _Mind Mgmt_ next you'll be culling _Dribbel-Fieber_ .
Hahahahah :P
Thanks! This might be the inspiration I need to trim down my collection a bit. Needs to be done but it’s just so difficult! 😥
It was very difficult for me in the beginning as well, but it is getting easier and easier! Just start with one, and go from there :D
@@BoardGamingRamblingsgood advice. I also need to start but afraid to miss those « average » games I don’t play anymore.
I love Amerigo. In my all time top ten. But I agree that the problem is that in the last round there's not much to do anymore. I think the cube tower maybe had a different design during the game development so it gave out less cubes? I haven't played one round less as suggested but should try it because the last round is kinda anticlimatic indeed. Still very much enjoy the game.
It is a good game, and I remember my plays of it as fun, but it's also a big box, and I will probably never play it again :P Glad you are enjoying it! :D
Fun list! Sad we didn't get to do all the football players. Maybe next time!
Hmm, maybe we can make a video listing all the football players we know?
Oh, I've been looking for Jokkmokk since Essen, no where to be found in EU. :(
Hope you'll be able to find a copy soon :D
Clank Legacy is great - even if you don't like Clank!
And Amerigo! Omg i need a moment
Haha! Look forward to today's video ;)
NOT MERLIN! I like it with the Arthur expansion. But it’s a big box. I need to try the other expansions.
I liked it better with Arthur, but still had some problems with the randomness! Just wasn't for me!
Your my inspiration🎶🎶🎶🎶
Thank you! Get those games culled :P
Nice, I am in dire need of motivation to cull some stuff. I was successful in not buying more if I don't see, but now it is still sad, because I deny myself for new stuff D:
What's you plan with the games now? Like a yard sale, auction, donation?! :D
I love culling videos!
What games would you recommend for an eleven-year-old that can be explained under 5 minutes?
Glad you enjoyed it! That is a very specific and hard question. I cannot come up with something at the top of my head...sorry :(
So, round two of keep or cull started before round one finished?
I get it since round one may never finish as fast as you get sent new games and have reviews and real life to do.
Thanks for the video
Keep or Cull is not going anywhere!
These are basically to make room for most new games from last year :)
Normal keeping and culling will start again soon! :)
@@BoardGamingRamblings I didn’t think you were stopping round one of keep or cull. I was just envisioning keep or cull continuing while you go back and cull some previous keeps. Sorry if my post was confusing. Good luck with all your series!
Next logical episode is "keep or keep"
Hahahaha, that would be super boring :P
Can you guys tell me why you kept the old version of Bruxelles 1893? I have actually both the new and old version and i will probably get rid of the old one.
Very easy answer: We are weird and nostalgic :P No logical reason!
I am aiming for a quality over quantity collection. My biggest hurdle is getting games to the table to know if we are keeping or culling them.
I agree! Some might say we have way too many games, but we do try to only keep the ones we really like!
What is the title of a game you mentioned when talking about MIND MGMT?
City of the Great Machine, I believe.
That is correct! 🤩
Mind MGMT leaving breaks my heart ;-(
It is a great game, but it is also a genre that we never play, so it's better that someone else hopefully get to have fun with it!
Felds should stay. Always. Forever.
That was the way we also did it, until the new City Collection, and we didn't feel the need to keep two versions of the same game. When we first opened that door, it's easier to cull Feld games now!
I wish I had a way to get dribbel fieber from you :(
Is it hard to get? I did see some copies on BGG Market at least!
@@BoardGamingRamblings it’s hard to get outside of Europe
There's an easier answer to culling your collection. Buy a bigger house!
Hahahaha! You can send me enough money for a bigger house :P
