This music brought nostalgic tears to my eyes. Started playing WOW when i was in middle school, at the age of 12. I remember the feeling of going back home from school and diving into the world full of magic, quests and new acquaintances from the chat. I miss those times 😭

I can listen this on repeat. Getting the chills all the time. All the memories and nostalgia moments throughout the last 15 years. Especially the part "A Call to Arms". The whole part is perfectly done. As a dane the only thing that saddens me is that i wasn't there.
Same with me, as a very veteran horde player, when the War drums start to do their thing its like a call of nostalgia that actually very few musics can do for me.

Japan has done this since the mid 80s with Dragon Quest as the first VGM played by an orchestra, and it's becoming more and more common for orchestras around the world to play video game music. If anything, it has helped many orchestras to survive financially.
After the first gaming-concert prior to this, they have ramped up and are doing 2 pop-culture concerts every year, running 3-5 days each and they keep getting bigger and more impressive. The last one I attended was cartoon-themed and the choir and orchestra numbered over 200. Next month its a revisit to Morricone. They usually hire in guest conducters with some connection or passion for the subject. For example, Eimar Noone here is an avid gamer and wrote some of the music in the later expansions of WoW. At the show I attended, when asked about her preferance in faction, she responded with "For the horde!".
