See you can teach an old dog new trick.. It takes surgery near amputation and such. It is like checking if the gun is loaded every time ;) Only needs to go wrong once ;) Nice vid and glad to see your digits are getting back in order!
It's a nice transmitter, however I have since stopped using my old R9M Module and gone with a Crossfire Module in my JR Bay. Good to see your fingers healing Andrew...🤔😀🇬🇧
I love the way this radio looks and is laid out. I'm pretty dug-in with Radiomaster and OpenTx. How long until some other company copies this style radio in an OpenTx transmitter? lol
Ha ha. :-) When I was a lot younger and into free-flight models I quite often used diesel engines, and those things would start up if you just LOOKED at them the wrong way. WHAPPPP! (Aaarghh...)
How do you like the sliders on the FrSKY Tandem vs. Radiomaster Tx16 or your customized Taranis QX7, or other radios? Cantering feedback, and if they prone to being accidentally bumped? Suggestion: using the Tandem's gyro function to set up video camera pan. Tilt/roll left/right to yaw camera left/right. ;)
At least one matter INDEED. Looking to be a fine radio. Wonder if it will eventually send tele on 2.4g and control on 900mc? INav and Ardupilot Lua scripts next. then HD FPV...You go FrSky! How about built in Alt, Cell voltages in some receivers that have stabilization that also share the gyro data on smartport so as to allow a smartport telemetry fed Nav/Ardu LUA likr script on that pretty screen? The newish R9STAB is a fine receiver when used with the ACCESS R9 module running ACCST firmware on my Non-plus and original X9d as well as that Horus cloned JT16 plus. FrSky...Build it, support it, and they will come. And for the best acceptance to the widest consumer base...Let us decide...ETHOS or OpenTX.
HI Andrew. I just bought a Tandem X20 and your videos have been a God-send at the manual leaves much to be desired. However, I was wondering if you plan on showing a setup for a typical six servo glider. I've been able to figure out most things but Flight Modes still have me baffled. I'm sure there are many more glider pilots in the same position as me as the radio is fairly new. Any chance of helping out us pure glider guys?
Andrew, would you know if the Qx 7 (the new version with the 18650 batteries) works with crossfire ( has a full speed inverter) or do you still need to solder the small circuit board to the main board? Thank you for your time. ;-)
I miss flying. I left all my R/C gear in Thailand at the start of the pandemic and flew to the U.S. (foolishly thinking Trump wouldn't do EVERYTHING wrong) Just had my second shot, and the wife gets her first tomorrow.Hopefully heading back to your hemisphere soon and getting back to building and flying.
@Andrew Newton - Would really help if you shared your view here. My Futaba T8FG has just gone bust and while I could get it repaired im in the market for a new radio. I'm torn between the FrSkt X18/20 or the Radiomaster TX16S MK2 with AG01 Gimbals. 1. I currently have only FASST receivers so im guessing neither f the 2 will support them 2. looking for the widest possible coverage with the 4in1 MPM 3. The tandem 900 & 2.4 connectivity seems very tempting when I'm flying Fixed wing 4. Would you consider either of these at par with Futaba Quality? I loved my T8FGand its form factor.. OPTION1: X18/20 with 2 Addon Modules (i: ELRS & ii: 4in1) OPTION2: TX16S MK2 AG01 4in1 one Addon Module (i: ELRS) Which one would you advise. How much better in quality is the X18/20
FASST is only supported by the Multimodule 4 in 1 Tandem system is amazing but so is ELRS X18/20 are superior quality by a long way, but restricted to ACCST V2, ACCESS and TD with no support for exterior modules other than FrSKY at this stage. Watch the INAV Wing Talk first 30min, they are discussing this exact topic - ua-cam.com/video/FZWseqEtZbo/v-deo.html If you want quality then FrSKY X18/20 all the way If you want to use other than FrSKY receivers then it has to be TX16S
I still didn't see any Blood mate!!!! Did they skin graft Ya Willy Head onto the middle finger??? That'll help shitloads for throwing the Birds in the Air Mate... Good to see you getting back into it Andrew!! Look after yourself..
@andre47g, that is one of my concerns, yes. On the other hand, if some people can master such a remote, does that not mean that everyone can? Or, maybe, it's not about that, but about how it can be too much hassle?
There are much easier radio systems to use, like Detrum, FlySKY and Spektrum. But I found once you learn OpenTX or even EthOS, all the others seem too restricted
@@AndrewNewton base model , I believe, am looking for dual rates for the flight surfaces, are you able to relocate switches, aren't able to find anything about all the togel switches, only brought this so I can use a air speed indicator for a 118 inch lysander that I'm putting together, seems to me this transmitter is only for foam and quad copter
I'm sorry but the screen on the X20 looks nothing like OpenTx in both almost monochrome colours and lack of on screen information. My opentx screen has 8 sections of data with room for more and has far better colour options, it might be a nice radio but not without opentx !
Help Please I just received my Tandem 20. This is my first 2.4 radio. I have never bound a reciever before. Can anyone give me a step by step binding of an X8R. I get lost after getting to the RF system.
Brilliant video Andrew, cannot wait till the radio is available. Will look back at this when I do get 👍🏻👍🏻

Love that prop removal at the beginning chopper. I did think you were brave with the CwM on the bench.
Once again, great video Andrew.
Have to get back on the horse, but slowly maybe

"Props to you" for the great video Andrew. Ethos is looking nice.

Tandem best, TX16S worst

I don't use the X20 much, or flight modes. Ask Darren Lines. He knows more ua-cam.com/channels/DYMfz6BIhqY9zHU8wCmFeg.html

at 1:15min. Your left hand, middle finger was an accident with electric planes?

Hi what sensor for thé alarm lipo always vfas or rx bat ? I use r9 mx
FrSKY lipo sensor or current sensor is what I use. Or a flight control board.

I found it s Vfas
How adjust vfas sensor? Thé value is not just ?

How can I install ethos inav lua script on frsky tandem x20?
Darren Lines is the man to ask. He has done videos on this subject.
Lia scripts?
Lua? Yes
Always remove props. They will bite you.
