Just ordered one of these 15 minutes ago while they are clearing them out with a BIG Discount. Replacing an Old Humminbird 4 ID on my 1989 Skeeter SD 80 & mounting it on my New 54 lb. thrust Watersnake "ASSAULT" Trolling Motor. I'll test both at the same time & I know they will both do great. I would not have installed it & not used the fuse they provided with it since it would have taken two more minutes to install it inline.
Get in the habit of using the light blue colored butt splices. (Semi-transparent) They're made of zinc which is meant to do what's called "anodic protection". This is important on boats and super important on aluminum ones. It protects your circuitry from corrosion from the water and dis-similar metals.
Did you figure it out. I just up grade to a new trolling motor have same problem. Only thing I can figure out is getting interference with prop or fin on trolling motor.
Does the mounting screws for the bracket come with the unit? Or do you have to buy them separately? If so what size screws would you recommend for installing on the bow of a fiberglass boat.

What size hose clamps did you use to mount it to the trolling motor
No heat shrink?
I have my splitshot installed the exact same way. I was told that the transducer should be rotated and turned around. Is this correct?
Do you turn it of when you raise the motor when going from spot to spot?
The fuse isnt needed?
So what did you do with the opening where your old fish finder was?
