Rockwood Geo Pro 20bhs | Meet our new RV and tiny home - The Birdhouse!

- We bought a Rockwood Geo Pro 20bhs in January of 2020. We've been working on getting it on the road and introducing it to you since then. In this video, the first in almost a year, we travel from Fort Worth Texas to Yakima Washington to sell the property that we owned there. In this video, we introduce you to The Birdhouse our new RV and tiny home. We'll be living in The Birdhouse full time and traveling the USA to create content for FreeBirdsRV.com (soon to launch) and to stay connected with coast-to-coast friends and family. We'll do a quick walk-around tour of The Birdhouse now and in the next video, I'll do an initial quality review.
After a year of working hard to get back into an RV and begin posting videos again, we are thrilled to be filming and uploading once again. We have missed y'all and are so glad to be back!!
If you have any questions about The Birdhouse or our new season of life, please drop us a comment! We'd love to hear from you!
~ Ben
Looks like a very nice unit, with a lot and I mean a lot of storage. Congratulations on starting your next phase of life. Hope it goes absolutely amazing! Lynn and Danny
Thank you so much @RV America Lynn & Dave! Much appreciated! Wishing y’all happy trails & many adventures as well!
Love the tour of the Geo! We'll be back to watch more! Danny & Lynn
Great to hear from you Danny & Lynn!!
Glad you guys got this one. We bought the same model about a month ago and love it! We have camped every weekend since we picked it up.
Michael Adkins that is awesome! What area or region have you been camping in?
FreeBirds We are in northern Alabama, Huntsville area. We’ve been sticking close, for now, and hitting the state parks and trying out the KOAs around here.
Michael Adkins we look forward to exploring Alabama more in the future. We’ve got family in FL & NC so we are frequently passing through AL. Very beautiful state from what we’ve seen.
I'm originally from Yakima WA. Now we live in Indianapolis area. We live not to far from the factory and next year we are going there to take a tour. Love the geopro WELL-BUILT.
Vernon Margheim 👋 hello!
You’ll love the factory tour! Michelle and I took one and we look forward to doing another in the future to see all the things that are new & changing. Thanks for watching & commenting!
Good job guys! 😎
We have done much research on the Geo Pro line and for us the 19FD seems to be the choice. Hopefully before the year is out, and for sure before next 'camping season' we hope to be in one!
That’s awesome Silas Longshot! Check in again when you get yours! By the way, what region do you live in? And when is your typical camping season?
@@CrowdFreeRV Georgia. Technically, you could camp 'year round' here even up in the 'mountains' of N GA. But some places do close for the winter.
@@silaslongshot941 I sure look forward to exploring GA more. So much beautiful country! We're camping in Brunswick next weekend with family. I have a good friend with property in Jasper. It's one of the MOST beautiful personal properties I have ever experienced!
Awesome! Bring back those annoying free-loaders, I mean free-birders!!
Im looking to maybe buy the exact model at tropical RV in FT. Pierce FL. but I found its $2000 cheaper up in Georgia .
gus Paca - 👋 hello! Yes sir, you are smart to shop around. I’ve found RV trader to be an excellent tool for negotiating the price and finding the best one. I wish you all the best in finding your new RV. Thanks for watching & commenting! BTW, I found the best price at the time I bought at Fun Town RV.
Im curious, how do you receive your mail when on the road?
You guys crack me up! Hilarious! I bet you'd be lots of fun to camp with! LOL Enjoy your new Geo Pro - looks like you already are!
Ben, I have enjoyed your initial Rockwood Geo video and the review, great information . I am seriously looking at this unit. I noticed the only 110 electric outlets in the bathroom, at the headboard of the bed and beside the kitchen sink .... am I missing anything .... have you used the furnace or heat strip ... Do you have the pros and cons of heated tanks pros cons ? thank you david
Hi @Good Guy!
Thanks for the questions!
1. There are the outlets you mentioned, plus 1 in each bunk and 1 on the trailer exterior. In my opinion this is plenty for camping but not quite enough for full timing. But... this trailer was not built for full timing. I find myself using the bunk outlets to charge my camera & video gear.
2. Yes, I have used the furnace. It works as well as any other propane fired furnace in a small travel trailer. The main thing is your heat comes and goes in waves as the furnace kicks on and off. So far we have just started to get into cool weather. We bought one tiny electric heater from Amazon to keep the chill off. It works good, keeps a more steady heat, and helps conserve propane. We’ll let you know how it goes as the temperature dips down.
3. We don’t have the optional air conditioner heat strip.
4. We haven’t been in freezing weather yet. As a general rule we’re going to avoid very cold weather. I consider the Geo Pro a 3 season trailer. But we will be getting into a little overnight below freezing temps. I’ll let y’all know how the holding tank heat pads work when we start using them.
Hope this helps my friend!!
Thanks again for watching & commenting!
@@CrowdFreeRV thank you ... all great usefull information ... safe travels!
do you think a ram 3500 dually 4x4 reg cab would be to rough on the camper I don't want the truck to jar and shake the camper lose on rough roads since the truck rides rough already thx
Jonathan I think the Geo Pro would tow great behind a Ram 3500 dually! The biggest factor for jarring & shaking are the roads you tow it on. Rough gravel & washboard roads are the worse.
Kurt Mfg does make a product which can help with this. It’s called the Rebellion XD. I’ve never run one myself but I know others who have and love it. I’ll link it below. Thanks for watching & the question!

Is a murphy bed available for this model?
👋 Hello @Paul Smith! The Murphy bed is not available on the G20BHS.
A Murphy is available on the G19FD & G19FDS. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching & commenting!
Funny and great CGI; Shhh its Ok we'll call it CGI lol; Fulltime I can see myself in 24-26 max but not 20ft ouch. But hey you can always change it down the road. And you're living the way you want to: Hey small space can be good . Teaches to live with less.
Yeah man! 20’ is definitely a bit too small for full time for us. We’re making due for now. It would be a lot easier if I wasn’t trying to run a business and carry around video & camera gear. We’ll definitely look at something bigger for living in a year or so. But I might hold on to the Geo. It’s perfect for boondocking where you can only get a small rig in. Possibly rent it on outdoorsy when I’m not using it.
@@CrowdFreeRV Smart hold onto it; As I will do with my new trailer once we take delivery. Surveyor Legend 19Bhle 2021.5 Your Geo is our cousin in the Forest River family
This is great!!!
