Kek, I don't think people understood the irony here. 😂
@@elleCX01If you don’t realise how simple it is already, let alone the choice to put the video in a slower speed thats ur problem. This is already easy to follow at actual speed
if youre having trouble following him like i did, just put the video speed to 0.25, it will help alot.
Thanks

It's 2020, during lockdown, so I'm here modding my PSP haha - thank you for the close ups, using your video with another I got all the info I needed
aaaah. now i am both flattered and jealous at the same time. lol. happy to help buddy.

@@christopherbragg6643 Tha's a cool motif and wallpaper out there. you can try installing built in battery by following this link since you have experience in disassembling your unit.
@@boibudgetmeal I have a larger 1800mAh battery in the back, even with the mod I think they tend to just go for 2000mAh so I wouldn't want to risk breaking the case for that hehe.
Side note, you might know the answer to. On some of my emulators, upon hovering over the application it plays a melody and loads a wallpaper in the background for the emulator before loading. Do you know which file within emulator's folder creates this? I upgraded my N64 Emulator but lost the melody and I want it back haha.
@@christopherbragg6643 haha sorry to disappoint you but i play my emulator as it is and i am not familiar with tweaking stuffs like that. i gave up my umd slot and somehow did not broke my housing just for the 4000mah battery but i am satisfied with it. you might still want to check the video... for my views and stuff...whatever... lol
This is the best disassembly video for a 2000 model. Thank you! Will definitely use this in the coming weeks!

Wow thank you for this. Had i known all that needed done i dunno if i would've bought a new case lol might be looking for a new PSP after this
Sort of jumped some stuff but it did help. Unfortunately the shell i bought was crap plastic from Amazon and doesnt sit well so maybe I'll try the one or similar to the one you posted.
I have a detailed version of this video. ua-cam.com/video/bckCAITltkg/v-deo.html
Just bear with my accent lol
@@boibudgetmeal Oh nice. Thanks! No worries about the accent man. I will try again once I order a new shell and a power chip as I broke the little plastic lever from mine and can't slide it into power on or hold. Noob shit you know how it goes. Thanks again for the link.
good psp 2001 fast 3.58 love😍
Nice! Looks perfect, but you noticed some imperfections on the shell?
Nothing really worth worrying for. Everything fit perfectly.
Is there anywhere I could send a PSP 3000 for a complete refurbishing like this video where you change the plates and all the buttons. There is no way I can pull this off myself.

What size mm philips head are you using for these?
Generally it's a 00
on the Ifixit website it says 3mm, 4mm and 5mm
00 will fit 3mm and 4mm
i found the ribbon cables most difficult, will turn on and indicate power
but no sound or screen and the umd disk tray wont close
What To kit are you using to open the psp?
link is provided in the description of the video
i followed this & my psp was able to turn on as i could hear the "starting up" tune and click sounds but my screen shows nothing. i hv checked that i properly connected the lcd screen to the motherboard. do u think it can be issues from other parts of the psp?
you can check the lock on the flex of the lcd if it is damaged or cracked. or you may have torn the flex while disassembling. motherboard issues involving display are quite uncommon.
It may be an LCD issue.
Hi. Plano ko bumili ganyan din na color. Naninilaw ba? Salamat hehe.
Maninilaw talaga gantong kulay pag naka 3 years na. Wala ka din namang ibang choice. Iisa lang source kahit saan ka bumili hehe
the 3 screws on bottom. and top of the console, stucks, I got difficult unscrewing it even I used the right screw, any help please🙏🙏🙏
try to use bigger screwdriver. or place a rubber in between the screw and the screwdriver, if evertyihg fucks up, break the housing and buy a new one.
question: I have a psp 2006, i have a problem removing the screw on the back (top right corner) it seems to be stripped, any idea how to remove it? thanks!
If you are replacing the housing, just tear and force the housing apart. If not, you can use a bigger screw driver and then place a rubber on top of the screw. It may help with the grip.
So I did this as a kid over 10 years ago and I was thinking of doing it again, i do not remember doing all this
I picked up two slims for $20, i dont if i should go with the N64 orange or straight black still.
Awesome, thank you!
He is the PSP MAN! xD
Great
Haha. Thank you sir.
Where did you buy that type of plastic??
Are you referring to the case? The link os in the description
This is a minor annoyance and I did this a few months ago. But during teardown I took out the memory stick cover and I reinstalled everything but now the cover is off. Can I put the cover back in without taking it back apart? You know the cover that you open to take out memory card
you cant. you can force it in the slot (small hole for the stopper) but i doubt it would be a hard job. I still advise to remove everything. When opened, you can try and clean it or whatever.
This is a great video. Thank you so much! Is this pso the 1001 model? Is it the same process for all models?
Psp*
Yes Sir. Almost the same
Thank you for this!
No, Thank you for the view.

Are you pleased with the quality of the shell? I'm looking into buying a shell but I want it to be high quality material
You cant get anything better than that. Its not bad not so good quality. Its better than your old shell i can tell you that
Ano pong screwdriver gamit nyo?
PH#00 screw driver. You can even check the link for the precision tools that might be used in other repairs
The 2000 and 3000 model when disassemble same?
Almost the same. The only difference is the home buttons. You can check my how to replace psp 3000 video for your reference
Did you see how many screws were left!?
hi is it safe to do this if ur not that professional to fixing things?
Yes. That’s the goal of the channel. To help non professional fix gadgets
Hey bro, I've never before opened or messed with any electric gadgets and I bought a 3 year old second hand psp from my best friend's brother, its in awesome condition and just has some dust under the screen I'm thinking of opening it and cleaning it and I'm also planning to change the shell in the next few years, right now I'm 14, do you think I should open it now for the cleaning and later to change the shell myself?? I'm a bit scared I'll spoil it?
You woulne spoil your psp by just removing the shell. As long as you remove the shell and doesnt dissaemble anything, you're good. I recommend cleaning that up as it irritates me when I am playing You just need a paint brush to wipe the dust away. You can also wipe it with a microfiber cloth. Younjust have to be gentle when cleaning the lcd. Dissasembling now will give you that satisfaction of cleaning/fixing your own gadget. Plus it will give you more confidence for your next repair
@@boibudgetmeal alright, thanks:)
@@boibudgetmeal One more thing, If I decide to change the whole shell and disassemble it, is the process same on the psp 1000???
@@asimshaikh4068 pretty much the same. not exactly identical, but you can see some similarities.
@@boibudgetmeal Alright, Thanks for replying.
Would a 3000 screen fit on a 3001 model???
Yes, all 300X models use the same parts. The number at the end is only to differentiate which region the PSP is from!

I replaced a new screen and a new shell but red lines still appears ? What's the source of the problem ?
either you got a low quality screen that was damaged during the shipment, or other factors. i suggest you try other screen. if it still appears in other screen, check the flex connection.

I must have bought a real cheap shell becaus it didnt fit well. The screws were difficult to fasten properly, and the unit is squishy now. The plastic moves a bit and has gaps.
