i wrote a lil essay for myself the other month about how I Saw the TV Glow, Piranesi by Susanna Clarke, Our Wives Under the Sea by Julia Armfield, and 1899 the tv show are all the same story and now i'm realizing- they're all alice in wonderland!! really should have put that together sooner especially considering 1899's theme song is White Rabbit by Eliot Sumner. really loved your framing that the difference between wizard of oz & alice is wonderland is that alice happens alone. you made some excellent points!!

Actually Elphaba didn’t get Madam Morrible to teach Galinda because of the hat. It’s more like Galinda trying to shake off the infatuated Boq by getting him to ask Nessarose out to the dance, which made Nessarose happy, which made Elphaba grateful to Galinda, which made her approach Madam, which made Galinda see Elphaba in a different light, which led to them starting to really connect and become friends.

Love seeing persectives of someone who hasnt seen the stage production and doesnt know whats to come. Please dont look at spoilers, as tempting as it may be! Youre in for a wild ride with a lot of twists is all i will say! Also the Wizard of Oz movie still has a lot of copyright rules, which is why the slippers cannot be red etc.

I teared up just from subtle reactions from Erivo and Grande during the movie. The Ball got me.

They did this hard in “Agatha All Along” and it paid much homage to Oz. Especially the witches. In Billy’s room, you’ll see the books, posters, and figures.

“Wednesday” copied “Wicked” as it’s based on a 20 years old musical with similar choreography. Down to the private school, deceitful school faculty, and coloring of costumes and sets.

Amazing models! I’m very impressed by them. I know you said you were going for a Sam Raimi camera moves for your intro but I wonder if the twists and turns can be calmed down before you put it in your portfolio. As much as I loved to devour your models with my eye mouths, I got motion sick :/. Keep up The amazing work and content, friend!!

I know a lot about this movie they almost deleted the Over the Rainbow song but thank god they did not because of how much impactful it would become. And they almost got 1930s child star Shirley Twmple to play Dorothy but lots of issues and the fact she doesn’t really have the right vocals. So they leaned on judy garland. They kept giving her drugs to lose some weight and that addiction came to grow with her until her later years. Poor Judy. They used a very long Muslim stocking to make the tornado. And the shot of the house are miniature replicas to make the Muslim stocking even longer. And they blew smoke around as well. The technicolor scene was in color, they just had sepia walls, a sepia colored dorothy stunt double and there you go. They almost had a pretty looking wicked witch played by Gale Sondergaard because they were so inspired by the success of Disney’s snow white in 1937. But they decided to have an ugly witch and they thought Sondergaard wouldn’t like that and she agreed cause she was not about to make herself ugly for that. So it was Margaret Hamilton who became the iconic character that influenced witches forever. But she was very nice behind the scenes, especially with Judy Garland. Poor Margaret Hamilton had her broom and hat on fire when she left munchkinland. Second degree on her face and third on her hands. That poor woman. Ray Bolger was originally the tin man but wanted to be the scarecrow so he could dance since he was a very good dancer as we can see. Ray Bolger also had marks on his face from the scarecrow mask. Like Margaret Hamilton whose makeup was green copper so it was hard to take it off completely for over a year. Jack Haley did a good job as the thin man. Before him was actor Buddy Ebsen, who was originally the scarecrow but switched with Ray Bolger (our scarecrow) but Buddy Ebsen had his lungs coated with the aluminum powder from the makeup. So he was hospitalized and they decided to hire Jack Haley. However he got an eye infection but it didn’t stopped him from being in this movie. the lion suit Bert Lahr wore was actual lion fur so it stunk and was unbarely hot. And because many lights were on in the set (making some black outs in the city) poor Bert Lahr ended up sweating Everytime they ended the shooting they did projection on the crystal ball they used asbestos for snow Yeah. but nobody knew about the dangers of using it in the 1930s they used jello for the horse changing Colors 26:26 that was not Margaret Hamilton making that smoke arc. that was her stunt double Betty Danko. Because of the explosion that burned her in munchkin land, Hamilton refused any scenes involving fire. Her son was a toddler so she was not about to risk her life over a stunt. so once Betty danko was lifted above the studio, the smoking pipe dressed like a broom exploded so she had to hang on it until she was lowered to safety with burned and scarred legs. She recovered tho. the wizard throne room kept catching on fire on set 😂 the weapons disappeared in a deleted scene one of the flying monkeys in that scene fell down In the haunted Forrest because they were hung by wires tied to pianos there was a deleted scene where Dorothy sang a reprise of over the rainbow while crying alone locked in the witch’s castle. But it was considered too sad because of Judy Garland’s emotional crying.

Glinda sat on that information through the whole movie.

Very fun reaction. Yes do more, and for sure watch the outros. The things on their arms are called pip-boys, basically small computers, in the game they are how you access you inventory and maps and other tools. Unlike the last of us, these are all original characters. The games are RPGs so the main characters are all custom, the series takes place in the universe but is not any particular story. The series is set about nine years after the last game, Fallout 4. There are more than 120 vaults. Only these three are connected. The series does not shy away from game logic, so the needle Lucy uses restores her health, like in a game. Lucy has a tranquilizer gun, that was all that was left in the armory. Not asthma? No it is a drug called jet I think. There are a lot of performance enhancing drugs in Fallout. The purpose of the bomb was to block the passageway. Prison? No. Military barracks yes. The Brotherhood of steel was formed from the remnants of the US military. The raid did not kill everyone in the vault, each vault can have up to 1000 dwellers, just because they are not shown in the series doesn't mean they don't exist. Recall Lucy was teaching a class of kids in her interview. Max passes a speech check. The bag Max is carrying is IMO a nod to the games habit of giving your companions all your stuff to carry. Yes, The Ghoul is the cowboy from the beginning. He is a mutant created from a massive dose of radiation, ghouls are functionally immortal and can heal.

This is actually such a wonderful video. I love the vivid colors and the cinematography is outstanding. I would love it if this was a theme park ride like Soarin over California or something
