They both have an unbelievable sound, but only if I had to choose just one of them (just one). I prefer Texas...

Wes Jeans all day! I have one of the first ten he made, and I swear by it!
Wes's wins. Fuller and less spitty at those settings than the other fuzz. The clarity of some fuzzes can be affected by the interaction of the fuzz and volume, so I would wonder if adjusting both controls would find a smoother fuzz for each? May be also affected by bias, but doubt those have bias adjustment trims.
Wes’s fuzz uses a Jimmy C drop in board I think, sounds great and much like a Diaz Square Face.
The Ivor… It’s gnarly and gating quite a bit, sounds like bias is a bit out and a resistor has drifted, useable but wild!
Would have like to have heard it with the fuzz dialled back even further.
I like jimmy C's fuzz better tonally. A lot more quiet than the Ivor fuzz and seems better throughout the ranges.
Jimmy C is the man. I have his BC183L and BC108C fuzzes. Best ones I’ve ever played and heard.

There is a noteable difference between these two variations of BC183 in both tone and feel. On the datasheet, perhaps not. In this classic circuit design, yes. Both great, by the way. 😎👍
Yo CHris, my PP Fuzz and Texan are my fav pedals. Hey have you ever had issues with your Deluxe Reissue overheated when cranking it with high Hot Plate attenuation? Or do you never use more than 8db of attenuation when you run that Deluxe hot? I overheated a Super Reissue the other day and ruined the output transformer bc the Super was on 8 and Hot Plate on -16db. I'm wondering if the Reissue cheap parts just cannot bear that kind of use for over an hour. Thanks mate!

Would using a noise gate help cut some of that insane noise or would it suck tone? I mean MAN those are noisy.
You must not be familiar with old school Fuzz circuits……
@@30ANews I actually am. That's why I was curious if a noise gate would help. Even Joe Bonamassa uses a vintage Fuzz Face and it's SUPER noisy and he's playing through a rig that's probably literally a million dollars. He even talked about it in a recent Rig Rundown that he done.

Mine is $420. I think the IVOR is quite a bit more..
I live in a small town and about 5yrs ago i seen one that looked really beat up and it was about $1200. And there is only one music store here and do remember that there was aa tag about Dallas distributed by a place in dallas maybe

Might be the worst demo I ever saw.
1) Play a song
2) Play it right
3) Play both same song.
4) or quit guitar and demos.

All sound 10x better.
