For 3rd gen, my team always has both Manetric and Mightyena. The other combos are: Sceptile Camerupt Pellipper Altaria Blaziken Pellipper Roselia/Tropius Flygon Swampert Breelom Torkoal Altaria
In Emerald, Watsons team is changed differently, so using Makuhita is rather pointless at that moment, since Watson has Magneton as the only steel type in his team, so its better off to use a Geodude to handle his electric types, better off using Flygon or Camerupt rather than Rhydon.
Yep because he made a crap ton of mistakes. Such as saying use Rock tomb on Torkoal and Drought. Which Torkoal couldn't get in gen 3. He also suggested shadowball Gardevoir despite shadowball being physical in gen 3 (He still keeps that in the vid for some reason).
He forgot to mention that you don’t have to wait until you get to pacifilodge to get the TM for return, you can get it in fallarbor town if you give the meteorite to the scientist in one of the houses in fallarbor
Treecko was my very first Pokemon, since I started the games with Sapphire. He's my one true starter. As for this team, I probably would've picked Aggron over Rhydon.
My favorite two were always blazekin and then as of late sceptile because of its dragon claw, but swampert is growing on my in this play through because it’s so buff and broken with the move set
Also You can keep Take Down on Rhydon until the battle Sootopolis as In the Pokemon Center their is a move tutor who teach Double Edge with Better accuracy and Damage Output
The original vid was filled with mistakes. Like he said to use drought and rock tomb on Torkoal despite Torkoal not having those in gen 3. He also said to use Shadow ball Gardevoir despite shadow ball being physical in gen 3 (still kept this in for some reason).
Wondering why you would pick Rhydon over Aggron. Both are stellar in their own rights, however I just feel the steel typing comes more in handy than ground.
In gen 3 steel is only good defensively. There are no fairy types in gen 3 so the only type steel is good against is rock which you already have sceptile and tentacruel for.But ground is good against electric poison fire rock and steel types so having stab ground moves is better than having a steel Pokemon offensively
@@AG17232 I d rather have stab ground type moves than non stab fire and ground type moves plus there is only one dragon type boss which you can easily deal with if you have an ice type while the ground type comes handy against steven. So yeah I still think a ground type is a better choice than aggron
@@AG17232 that's what I said steel is only good against ice and rock but you already have tentacruel and torkoal to cover those types while ground is good against a lot more. Also aggron is weak to water so it's not wise to use it against the 8th gym.Plus the ice type elite four also carries a lot of water/ice types and rock is supereffective against ice anyway. So yeah as I said steel is only good defensively in this gen because fairies don't exist
While I’m glad to see you’re clearly taking suggestions to try new Pokémon, and thus avoid cookie-cutter teams, I must admit that some of your choices do surprise me. For instance, you never pick Skarmory as your flier, despite being such a great bird *and* NOT a version exclusive in these games. But I can guess why: shallow move pool, right? The same sort of applies to Swellow, who has only one great move set: Return, Fly, Facade, and Steel Wing. Good, but predictable. As for some others, I’m guessing it’s because of timing. For instance, Walrein is a solid choice for a Water (and Ice) Pokémon, but you don’t get it until *long* after you already know Surf. Same for Salamence (right before Victory Road) and Metagross (only in the postgame 😭). I wonder if, one day, you might do Best Teams for each *specific* game (like you did for Sword and Shield). If only because I’m curious to see what you think are the most viable version exclusives. Just a thought.
by the way you didn't have to exclude dragonclaw. Altaria can have dragonbreath until it gets dragon claw before the elite 4. But dragonclaw is a more solid move anyway. the chance of paralysis on dragonbreath is just a somewhat decent upside. If it doesn't happen, you might be at a disadvantage. Im pretty sure you can 3 shot drake's salamence with dragonclaw so what it really comes down to is how long the battle takes. If drake heals before you can land another dragonbreath then you have to start over giving drake the upper hand. In the end dragonclaw will do the job a better according you my experience.
Truly appreciated on this video, it is a great guide to the new player like me. It will be better if the Swampert version come soon, I really love Mudkip it so cute.

For 3rd gen, my team always has both Manetric and Mightyena. The other combos are:
Sceptile
Camerupt
Pellipper
Altaria
Blaziken
Pellipper
Roselia/Tropius
Flygon
Swampert
Breelom
Torkoal
Altaria
Swampert
Hariyama
Gardevoir
Manectric
Altaria
Walrein ( didn't want to have Swampert as my HM slave so I put Waterfall on it )
In Emerald, Watsons team is changed differently, so using Makuhita is rather pointless at that moment, since Watson has Magneton as the only steel type in his team, so its better off to use a Geodude to handle his electric types, better off using Flygon or Camerupt rather than Rhydon.
Woah Mystic released the video for the second time?
Yep because he made a crap ton of mistakes. Such as saying use Rock tomb on Torkoal and Drought. Which Torkoal couldn't get in gen 3.
He also suggested shadowball Gardevoir despite shadowball being physical in gen 3 (He still keeps that in the vid for some reason).
@@3.2187_Kilometres Also he said Tauros instead of Tropius.
ua-cam.com/video/dQw4w9WgXcQ/v-deo.html
@@najeebmails nice try.
@@3.2187_Kilometres your goid at this
He forgot to mention that you don’t have to wait until you get to pacifilodge to get the TM for return, you can get it in fallarbor town if you give the meteorite to the scientist in one of the houses in fallarbor
Here are the movesets
Sceptile: 1:17
Gardevoir: 3:09
Tentacruel: 5:28
Torkoal: 7:26
Altaria: 9:12
Rhydon: 10:53
Would flygon be a better option over rhyhorn
@@melissasmith5109 flygon would overlap with altaria
@@GrimReaper_TTV then take altaria for salamence and keep rhydon
I would recommend Azumarill as a Water type for Hoenn it has never failed me any time I have used it.
Why does Mystic’s voice kinda sound drunk? Just me XD
Its probably just you
Nice video making more of these are cool for people without as much verity.
Why did you re upload this?
Edit: Oh I see you corrected or rather removed the part about Torkoal getting the Drought ability in G3.
He also corrected Torkoal getting rock tomb in gen 3. Still kept shadowball Gardevoir though despite being physical in gen 3.
I don't know if it's just in Emerald, but if you return the Meteorite to Prof. Cosmo you get ANOTHER TM27 Return
Torkoal is so underrated. It needs a Gigantimax form, smh.
Agreed
I mean at least GF saved it and Pelipper with the weather abilities... so many old mons WISH they got something going for them
Treecko was my very first Pokemon, since I started the games with Sapphire. He's my one true starter.
As for this team, I probably would've picked Aggron over Rhydon.
@Nick Cruz I know. I'm just saying personal preference.
@@a.z.pantera5577 I like Aggron for the versatility and it’s steel.
For Norman you can also use your Torkoal and use the protect/truant strategy
Don't run shadow ball on gardevoir. ghost is physical in this gen so its gonna do almost nothing
My favorite two were always blazekin and then as of late sceptile because of its dragon claw, but swampert is growing on my in this play through because it’s so buff and broken with the move set
My team
Sceptile
Blaziken (Thru Trade)
Swampert (Thru Trade)
Flygon
Gardevoir
Aggron
Thanks so much dude sceptile is my favourite pokemon and i am glad you did him justice
Reupload pog
Sceptile (special attacker)
Heracross (strongest fight ever)
Camerupt (good ground/fire)
Walrein (one of the best water/ice)
Manectric (best electric)
Crobat (great flying)
@MysticUmbreon Did you notice during Gardevoir taking on Winona you said Tauros?! Did you mean Tropius?
Also You can keep Take Down on Rhydon until the battle Sootopolis as In the Pokemon Center their is a move tutor who teach Double Edge with Better accuracy and Damage Output
Why was this a reupload?
The original vid was filled with mistakes. Like he said to use drought and rock tomb on Torkoal despite Torkoal not having those in gen 3.
He also said to use Shadow ball Gardevoir despite shadow ball being physical in gen 3 (still kept this in for some reason).
For anyone who does not want to wait till sootopilis city to get TM for Ice beam, it can be found in the abandoned ship.
@@phenom3918 Aggron can learn both fire and ground types, while Steel also resist dragon types which is important.
@@AG17232 I d rather have stab ground type moves than non stab fire and ground type moves plus there is only one dragon type boss which you can easily deal with if you have an ice type while the ground type comes handy against steven. So yeah I still think a ground type is a better choice than aggron
@@phenom3918 Steel also comes into play with the Ice trainer in E4, pretty much the last gym (water/ice types), really good against gyms 6, 5, and 4.
Sceptile is my favourite Pokemon of all time
Mystic : Sceptile is the worst starters of hoenn
Me : *say sike rn*
Is this in order of when you get them or not
My sceptile in sapphire usually has either dig or earthquake, aerial ace, leaf blade, and brick break
When will you do the starters rank?
(By the middle and final stages)
I was litterely looking for this exact video about a week ago
Is it just me, or is anyone else confused why Brick Break is being used against a Tranquil (a Normal/Flying Pokémon) in the image for the move?
Putting Shadow Ball on Gardevoir is a terrible idea. In gen III, Shadow Ball is a physical move.
I remember i found my first ralts in 5 min😁
Did this man seriously just recommend to use Sceptile against Glacia? XD
Most of Glacia's team is also weak to Water..
Yep. Sceptile wrecks Sealeo and Walrein with LB.
Yeah, I get that, but if you don’t one-shot-kill them you’re kinda boned?
by the way you didn't have to exclude dragonclaw.
Pretty unique team though
Have you done one for Swapert yet?
i thought he changed gardevoir's moveset
I was abt to play oras and i found this just uploaded 3 days ago, is gameboy being a thing again?
This came out i seconds ago you watching this nine year’s later hi I’m the first person that watched this video
you can get tentacool when you get surf and you can get it over level 30 so you can give it a rare candy and it will evolve
Truly appreciated on this video, it is a great guide to the new player like me. It will be better if the Swampert version come soon, I really love Mudkip it so cute.
Bruh. The Swampert version is the normal one
Why do you give Sceptile Return instead of Dragon Claw? Dragon type moves are special in Gen3.
Sceptile my favourite starter even though people says that it's the worst starter in the hoenn team
He's not it's just how you play him. Of you play him the right way he will become a powerhouse.
rhydon deez nuts
I would like to point out that u get the tm for return in exchange for the meteorite in fallarbor
U have to trade ur meteorite with mr cozmo to get that
Not sure if this is available in emerald but im certainly sure its available in ruby and sapphire
1 question for rhyhorn is it hard to get in the safari zone?
Im from philippines, what country are you from?
Jupiter
Mt. Everest
Philippines din
What's the remix of "The End" at the end its nice
I won't lie. I used Torkoal In Various Playthroughs in Pokemon Emerald. I really like it, no offence, But it was not good. Well, at first it was not bad but after Winona, It was a Burden on my team. I had to Remove it even though I liked it a lot. But it was almost always outspeed and Almost fainted or half health with each hit.
And I replaced it with Camprupt, Camerupt was overall better. It's Ground Type was so important but I have to say that it wasn't the best fire either.
@Nick Cruz thx. But I thought houndedr was in safari zone?
Where is the move?
Why not add Earthquake to Sceptile for fire coverage ? That’s what I always do.
It's a fine idea, but it means Altaria won't be able to learn it. It's much better on Altaria
plz do for renagade platinum, that game is really quie hard,,lol
Do diamond and pearl my favorite totterra and empoleon edition
Can Azumarill be useful in a pokemon emerald playthrough?
