One of the best game shows ever
Really enjoyed Hollywood Squares! The Stars and Peter Marshall shared laughter and kindness! Thank you for having these shows to see.
And still a number 1 TV game show with Paul lynde

When TV Game Shows were TV Game Shows. Thank You so very much for posting. I LOVE IT.
Dolly Parton: it's amazing the people they got.

It was called ‘Hollywood Squares’ for a reason.
This was after Wally Cox died and before " Star Wars" came out.
I know it was network practices, but I am still mad at NBC for getting rid of a huge percentage of the tapes of this wonderful show that always makes me smile😊I'm glad the nighttime syndicated version exists, tho.
NBC was the worst regarding game show preservation. It continued to wipe any show that wasn't a Goodson-Todman production, (except for Mindreaders, which Goodson felt was his worst) until around the mid-80s. This includes Battlestars, High Rollers, Las Vegas Gambit, Just Men, Hit Man, the first few years of daytime Sale of the Century, and daytime Wheel of Fortune. CBS stopped wiping around 1966, and ABC stopped in 1978. A few NBC Squares episodes were syndicated in the '80s along with the standard package. But I can understand the network's primetime rating struggles for causing them to cut corners (ABC was fresh with money and CBS had long been profitable)
@@pannoni1491 WPIX NYC 11 had a special called The Best Of The Hollywood Squares in 1982.It was a mix of NBC and nighttime syndicated shows.
Wow Joan Rivers appeared on all versions of the show
I do not remember Match Game going through all these non stop ads for prizes. Too much!!
It was still not too many compared to Wheel of Fortune at the time as well as a certain show hosted by Bob Barker...
Actually not at all. The ads on here were very long and obnoxious. Thing was Match Game gave away money as did Password.
