That looked like a great show. I was so pleased to see the Lochty layout. It brought back great memories for me.Back in the early 80s I was a trainee fireman on the Lochty railway when it was a heritage line. Now sadly closed. Wonderful.Thank you Simon😊
Good morning Simon, a fantastic model railway show, very nice layouts and in all gauges. I particularly liked the 0 gauge layouts and the large US model railway in H0. The winter facility in N gauge had a great look. Some 00 layouts showed very beautiful old trains. The end of your video was simply fantastic with the short pictures of the original and model. Thanks for sharing and all the best for the New Year. Many greetings Wolfgang
Hi Bob. You're welcome. Thank you for showing your your layout! I loved it. You can see from my videos that I'm very much into American railroads. I model 1:20 scale currently but I did a bit of N Scale in the past and fancy doing so in the future, so your layout hot me inspired. Cheers! Simon
Thank you Ken. I'm really struggling: Done 7 episodes of around 23 of my American trip, and I haven't done a large scale model video since about September 2022! I'll get there,... some time. Happy New Year!
@@ThatBIGTRAINGuy The virtual visit to a train show was an excellent choice. I don’t know about anyone else but I with our cold weather have a bit of cabin fever. Besides who doesn’t love watching model trains on a layout? Hang in there remember quality not necessarily quantity. But you know that..
@@kenshores9900 They're nice do see and they're easy to make: just line up all your shots, some clipping together, and I could be done in an hour or two. So, I'm glad you enjoy them. The America videos, they have considerably more thought production going into them... and thus many more hours! 😂
Wow, that’s an extensive layout! Everything looks so real. There are a lot of modelers there who obviously know their stuff. How big was the entire layout? Gracias🚂🚂🚂👏👏👏👏👏
Good variety of gauge and scales. Including a couple scales I have never heard of, 7mm & 8mm. Not sure what those translate to here across the pond. But quite fascinating
Yeah, a nice range. 7mm and 8mm, I'm not sure either to be honest. They look nice though. As the "classic" scales are all slightly inaccurate in some way or another, there seems to be a burst in popularity of various 'fine scales', which are impressive, - and a lot of these are modeling narrow gauges! Cheers Tim!
@@ThatBIGTRAINGuy they seem to be around what we call On30 here. But slightly larger. 8mm is roughly 5/16". 7mm is slightly larger than 1/4". Not sure of the gauges involved
@@timothyboles6457 Yes it looks to be based around O Scale. I just looked and there is a "7mm Narrow Gauge Association" and they talk about On30 on their website.
@@ThatBIGTRAINGuy so you have been around the larger scales and gauges for a while then? I have a few pieces of On30 equipment, and On3, and O gauge 2-rail in my collection and have hand laid track and switches in all 3 gauges. Everything is currently in storage though.
Thanks David! All being well, I'll take you to Cimerron Canyon this week. Finding time for these videos is proving hard and I have no time for my own model trains 🤦🏻♂️ Thanks for your anticipation and patience 👍 Simon
@ThatBIGTRAINGuy there great videos I enjoy and look forward too. Although you haven't helped my bank balance. You've cost me a bachmann K27 and alot 120.3 scale stock. Lol
I'm not sure. Z Scale has it's place but maybe it's just too small to be a "display" layout. I guess it's more for sitting up close rather than viewing as you walk by. I'd love to see that though!
@@ThatBIGTRAINGuy Maybe one day in your travels you will come across one. That would be cool. With your railroad size, I bet you could make one in a deep valley type display. It would look like a forced perspective. Just a thought.

Yup.If you have any more footage of it I would love to see it.
@@davidwhite1864 I think that's everything I have for this time, but I may see it again. It wasn't a big layout at all, just a "scene".
No problem mate👍

You're welcome. Thank you for joining me 😉
Busy show with lots of good layouts. Felt cold just looking at Moors View! Cheers
Yeah it was busy all day!
That winter scene, though beautiful, made me feel cold too. Could have done with a Summer scene 😎
Cheers!
Very nice video.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Some real quality modelling.
This was between two sports halls in the school. 23/24 individual layouts.
Thanks!
