28:37 i might be wrong about this, but I understand that the roots need oxygen to be able to take water. Saturated/waterlogged soils don’t provide enough oxygen for roots to function and there stopping water uptake to the canopy. ❤❤❤ great talk, informed me a bit more about hypoxylon
