Le SamouraÏ - 4K Restoration Trailer

- In a career-defining performance, Alain Delon plays Jef Costello, a contract killer with samurai instincts. After carrying out a flawlessly planned hit, Jef finds himself caught between a persistent police investigator and a ruthless employer, and not even his armor of fedora and trench coat can protect him. An elegantly stylized masterpiece of cool by maverick director Jean‑Pierre Melville, Le samouraï is a razor-sharp cocktail of 1940s American gangster cinema and 1960s French pop culture-with a liberal dose of Japanese lone-warrior mythology.

UPLOAD THE TRAILER IN 4K YOU FOOLS!!!
this.

I hope we get the 4K physical release sometime by the summer. One of my favorite films.
In France comes out the 24th of April at 25 euro.
In 4k in July from the Criterion Collection
One of the coolest movies ever made.
This is art.
The incomparable Alain Delon.
One of the best hit man crime movies. The created created by Delon remains inimitable!! Simply the best!
Amazing! This movie deserved and needed a restoration so bad!
Eh, I really enjoyed the Criterion bluray restoration they did. I'm sure 4k will look fine, but this film has been restored by so many different distributers that it's weird they keep doing it.
@@Lovicide literally this, these fucking losers keep releasing the same films instead of actually dead ones.
Melville transforms solitude into a stylized, chain-smoking protagonist on screen; I admire his work deeply, having seen all of it. He is undeniably one of the masters who have honed the art of filmmaking.
Masterpiece of all times
I think I came to understood Melville some time after I first watched his films. At first it felt a bit barebone for me, but then I climbed back even farther to watch American crime films from 1930s to 50s: Melville's world is a direct descendent to the world of American film noir, only it's much more eloquent and beautiful European cities. Style elevates genre, Melville understood this better than anybody. No wonder John Woo is absolutely enamoured by Melville, though I'd say Mann is a closer descendent.
Melville is a Maestro!
It's pure cinema.
This is amazing news. One of my favorite films!
I used to watch that film during French class in my junior high in the 80's.
Seeing it on the big screen on my birthday-- I am so excited!
Absolutely cannot wait. I'm glad I dragged my feet on upgraded my DVD to blu-ray
Why is the 4K restoration trailer delivered in a poorly compressed 1080p video?
Because you gotta go to the movie theater to see it in 4k babe
Because youtube
A trailer isn't the full movie thou babe. It's inherently dumb to upload a 4K restoration trailer in 1080p. @@forestnymph3000
@@constipatedparker5879UA-cam can show 4K bro they're just lazy or stupid
Disnae matter - still one of the greatest films ever made
Incredible. Thank you for 4K restoration.
I'm a hootin' and I'm a hollerin', looking forward to this.
It's gonna be available on 4K UHD disc? If yes: Take my money!
Oh wow! Such a surprise. I love this movie!
such a good movie and it looks great here
A must have. Pre-ordered it.
Melville - le maître du policier. No one better.
Alain Delon is so scrumptious!
“Stick to your plan. Anticipate, don't improvise. Trust no one. Never yield an advantage. Fight only the battle you're paid to fight.”
Love this movie!
Perfect film.
Yesss!
Coo coo oo oool
Exciting
so it it gonna be on physical/digital or just in theaters?
Oh, I want to see this movie!!! From or by Melville I saw only Un Flic!
Un Flic isn’t close to his best but this one is.
@@Galacticpurveyor Thank you!! Great director, I must see this one!!!
@@dom_pazzo87 Army Of Shadows and Le Cercle Rouge also.
@@Galacticpurveyor Thanks a lot, I'll look for them!!! 😁
I like this movie a lot and I can imagine how a 4K release would benefit this film visually.
We need a Complete Melville Box Set from Criterion. Make it happen! Do something in the quality lever of the Ingmar Bergman and the Fellini Box sets.
Kino-Lorber has some very good releases of Melville films on Blu-Ray. Leon Morin, Priest is clearly better and more complete on the Kino-Lorber release than anything that Criterion has released so far.
Where to watch this?
Mon film préféré.
We lost ability to make movies like that.
BATMAN 1989 VIBES
Literally me
I'm kinda disappointed there was no katana
I can’t buy every damn release of this y’all decide to come out with 😭
Now make Shadow Army from the same director.
I guess he even has showers, wearing this hat.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
4K restoration, 2K trailer?
1080p trailer for a 4k restoration
Le cercle rouge was restored pretty poorly, hope this one will be better.
they didn't screw up the colors
Thanks for showing everyone the end of the movie
*Rōnin* would have been a better title after watching it
Jared Leto should play the remake
Please don't remake
I've hated the ending of this film for 30 years. Why didn't he let the bird out at the end?
Shut up and take my money
what a silly movie.
Restoring for what? You can see "the seventh seal" in an old trashy tv and still is a great movie.
That's true. But for me personally, restorations feel more immersive and just a different experience all around.
they already have enough quality. remember these films were shown in theaters.@@r.a.mproductions
I've heard many opinions on the internet since 1997, but this one might be one the worst replies ever put on the web.
shut up
You for real, bro?
